• I loved the location and convenience to and from the highway. I liked the lay-out of the room.
• Unfriendly staff and demand for credit card. Said if we paid cash deposit, it would be mailed then refunded from corporate.

“Great location with easy access and multiple choices of great restaurants and shopping. Hotel lay-out was great, but reeked of insecticides. Pillows were damp, and I did not know if it was because they had recently been washed, or maybe a foggier had been set off. Had a nice kitchen, but with bugs, who wants to store, cook, or eat food in it?”

• clean, crisp sheets and linens - microwave and fridge
• very old, needs exterior paint, outside entry on bottom floor in dark corner of property that had trail around bldg to street, needs interior updating

“Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool needed to be skimmed. Had plenty of chairs at pool but only 2 lounge chairs which were being used. Drapery cleaners wanted to clean my room on saturday morning when I was still to be there another night. Not kept up very well. Needs a modern update. It was clean but smelled old and musty. Shower spray and hair dryer were both high power and nice to have. Did not feel safe coming home at night. I am a female and I saw men standing around the parking lot, just hanging out, every time I came and went. I had the worst location of all the rooms and it was not located in a very safe area. I was in room 1911 I believe.”

• The staff was friendly. Like the size of the room & it content.

• Close to my destination.
• The hot water did not work and the restroom was not clean.

“It was very attractive but the restroom was not clean at all the doors were all dirty there was dust everywhere in the corners on the walls and ceiling, it was a disappointment,
I have stayed at Marriott before
I never had any problems with the rooms.”

• Free internet and free breakfast.
• The bed was hard like wood.

“The room was spacious. It had a TV and a small end table which looked kind of cheesy, but it served it purpose. Everything was clean with a full kitchen, free internet and breakfast. My only real complaint was that the bed was hard like sleeping on plywood. If you like a real firm, hard bed this is your place!”

• The locations was good and if we could have made their breakfast in time I think that would have been good too.
• The room was awful. It was old dated and the shower was dingy.

“I was pleased when I walked in the room. There was more to the room than I expected. It was my first stay at a Residence Inn Marriott and I would definitely stay at one again.”

• It was separated into separate building like an apartment.
• No ice in the room.

“I loved this hotel. It was wonderful. We stayed in a residence in lake, August 3rd, 08 and the ice machine was broken there but they did not have a refrigerator in the room. This one had a refrigerator in the room a kitchenette the room was wonderful, just wonderful. The TV had a little static but the room was close to Kema and we went to Kema and went out to dinner and did not get back till late so we did not watch much TV and left early the next morning. The room was very nice we had to leave for the hurricane.”

• This hotel was perfect for families with children.

“I loved this placed. My kids had fun in the pool, playing basketball and eating the morning breakfast buffet that was included. A good time was had by all!”

• The motel needs some repairs in our room. Nothing serious but several cosmetic repairs needed.

• The rooms at a lower star hotel we stayed in just before were nicer.

“Overall pretty good. Room wasn't as nice as a lower star. We had just stayed at in Galveston but the staff was excellent. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We really enjoyed relaxing at the pool and hot tub.”

• Complimentary breakfast, manager's reception.
• One roach in room, but this is not uncommon in Galveston/Clear Lake area.

“The room was a nice size for a single traveler or couple. The hotel provides breakfast (at least 1 hot option in addition to typical continental fare) and a manager's reception on weekday evenings (light snacks). I was in town for a conference and was only at the hotel for 2 nights, but I did enjoy my stay. Although the hotel is targeted towards the business traveler and/or guests staying more long term, it was good for a short stay as well. If heading to the hotel from I-45/Bay Area Blvd. Exit, the entrance to the hotel comes up quickly - you either need to turn left at Sea wolf, which means you need to cut through the Boston Market parking lot, or you need to go the next light and make a u turn.”

“This was an exceptionally clean hotel. The room had a living area with fireplace, desk, and couch; and a kitchen with utensils, pots, and pans provided. We were placed in a room right by the pool and hot tub. The hot breakfast was great and was replenished frequently so even late risers had a full selection. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Computers and high speed internet were available in the lobby as well.”

“Just some tips: Do not have double beds only queen and king but has a comfortable sleeper sofa. Awesome breakfast, pool and hot tub clean room and very spacious, kitchen is very large. Bathroom vanity and closet was large. Loved that it was like a 1 bedroom apartment. Felt very homey.”

• No elevator for 2nd floor access, bathtub was small and slippery.

• Close to Houston space center. Had several restaurants w/in walking distance.
• Too far from the lake.

“This hotel has all that most residence inn have. The hot breakfast was typical powder eggs, muffins, oatmeal. The light dinner is available Mon-Fri. We arrived Sunday and left Tuesday. Didn't eat there Monday but didn't look very appetizing. It was quiet and had some great restaurants that one could walk to. Wish the hotel was closer to the water.”

• Clean, friendly staff, good recreational facilities. The breakfast provided exceeded expectations.
• The hotel is 100% smoke free, which is fine, but no real smoking areas were provided.

“The hotel is clean and would be good for business travelers. They need to provide a sheltered area where people are allowed to smoke. Overall, a fairly nice hotel.”
