• Reasonably price.
• Rooms were not cleaned well, trash not emptied, surfaces not dusted.

“Although the price was excellent, simple things were left undone. The floors were not vacuumed well, the trash was not emptied and the surfaces were not cleaned. The staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast was sufficient.”

“Rooms smelled like smoke! moved to a room that smelled like a corpse. A dirty towel in the bathtub and the bed pedestal was exposed wood! Left and went to the Hampton Inn.”

• There was absolutely nothing.
• Everything, dirty towel in the bathroom, old, disgusting bed linens, air conditioner did not work properly and smelled..

“This is not a moderate hotel. It was an economy hotel at best, old decor, the bathroom appeared to have been cleaned but there was a used wash cloth hanging over the shower curtain rod and I could not bring myself to bathe in it. The decor was ancient and the bed linens looked like they were as old as the decor. The continental breakfast was served to you in the restaurant, toast and bagel, anything else was extra.”

• The toilet ran all night, the AC was noisy and there was not a queen bed.

“The hotel was not very clean, the toilet ran all night, we asked for a queen bed, the desk said they only had doubles and kings and the kings were full, the room smelled.”

• It was affordable.
• The pool was closed the entire 4 days we were there.

“This is my second stay at this hotel and I was disappointed. We had to change rooms the first night because the wireless access does not work for all the rooms. Additionally, the pool was closed for our entire visit which disappointed my kids. The common areas were very dirty and filled with litter. The hotel offered the stingiest continental breakfast I have ever encountered - we were limited to one glass of juice and either 1 muffin or 2 pieces of toast. Furthermore, the staff was rude and generally unpleasant during our stay. I had a better experience when I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago, but after this most recent stay I will never go back.”

• Comfy beds and pillows. Had small fridge in room.
• One room had "funky odor".

“Had nice beds and pillows. Was clean. Had small fridge which is really handy. Walls had had some less than expert repair. One room had an odor. But was tolerable.”

• Poolside rooms were nice, everything you needed but microwave.
• Bugs in hallway, Pool was dirty, Some doors didn't work.

“I had a poolside room, it was very nice inside. I dont know about the other rooms. The outside door closest to our room was broken so you couldn't enter through it. There were lots of bugs in the hall, grasshoppers, moths, etc. But overall nice for the price.”

• Location is the only plus.
• Rundown rooms/halls were filthy and smelled, dirty bathroom with rust in the shower and mold on the curtain.

“I was extremely disappointed in this motel. The rooms were rundown and felt very dirty. The floors had not been vacuumed, and even if they had been, I would not choose to walk barefoot. The bathroom in this non-smoking room had cigarette burns on sink, rust on the ceiling tiles and coming off of the shower handle, a dirty tub with mold on the shower curtain, and dirt and large splatters on the wall near the trash can and light switch. Not to mention the screeching sound that came from the shower head. The hall leading to our room felt like a sauna and was very dirty. The beds were decent, but the sheets felt like cardboard and smelled like paint. We were seated for our free continental breakfast which consisted of toast or tiny rolls, and our choice of coffee or juice. Thank goodness there were plenty of restaurants down the street! The pool was decent once we finally found it, but the pool area was littered with cigarette butts and trash. I do not recommend this motel”

• Room smelled, did not feel safe, and shower didn't work properly.

“The hotel is good if you are just sleeping there, but even then we had several problems with our room. The shower temperature did not adjust - it was always scalding hot. There may have been some plumbing problems because our room smelled dank and slightly of sewage, especially in the bathroom. Some of the lights only worked sporadically, bad wiring I think. There was an adjoining door in our room with a lock that didn't seem to do much, which didn't make us feel very safe. The walls were very thin, so we could hear everything happening in the surrounding rooms. The building as a whole looked very sketchy on the outside. The cable TV and Wi-Fi internet were finicky. The continental breakfast was horrible - your choice of a doughnut or toast plus juice or coffee; plus you had to be seated and served which took forever. Only redeeming factor - the bed was comfortable.”

• This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

“The hotel smelled moldy and musty. The screen was coming loose from the window. The front lobby looks nice, but it is a totally different view down the hallway. I was very disappointed.”

• Cheap for a place to stay at night.
• Very limited "continental" breakfast (bagel and coffee).

“They had a very nice outdoor pool area, however; the pool pump was either not working or needed adjusting as it ran making such a loud noise you couldn't visit above the noise, the whole time we were there (4 nights).”

“We got there late and went to our room where there was no way to lock are door, we put a chair up on the door. The next day they gave us a new room. It was better the door lock.”

• It had plenty of parking for our moving truck.
• This is not a 2 star hotel.

“This is definitely not a 2 star hotel. The rooms had burn holes in the comforter, mold growing on the ceiling, cobwebs in the corners, a missing dead bolt that looked like it had been broken off, and so on. When we checked in, we had to wait for the front desk clerk to finish her text message on her personal cell phone before being helped. The restaurant that supposedly offered room service never picked up the phone when we called. There are only two positives: there was plenty of room to park our 16' moving truck towing a car and I am no longer staying there.”

“The ice machine near my room did not work at all. I was directed to one on the 2nd floor. I got about 10 cubes of ice out of it before it broke on me. Very frustrating. The continental breakfast was only bread and coffee. Definitely disappointed in that. At least some fruit or cereal would have been nice.”

• Hallway was dirty and shower was set up for smaller people.

“Overall the stay wasn't that bad. The outside was in good shape but the hallways were lacking in upkeep. But upon entering the room it was fairly clean and comfortable. The remote didn't work and the shower was fairly small but, the water was the right temperature. Perfect for a quick nights sleep and taking off in the morning.”

• No pool, our room was next to the industrial air conditioner.

“The staff does a good job of cleaning the hotel, but the rooms are old and dingy so the carpets are dirty and the bathrooms are stained. The location is fantastic. If you are looking for an economy class room between 1 and 2 stars, I would recommend staying here. It is safe and the sheets are clean.”

• The internet connection was free and a pretty good speed.
• It seemed to have a moldy smell.

“The hotel is old and somewhat rundown. The staff was pretty nice and I was glad that they didn't charge extra to use the internet. The air in the hotel was damp and there seemed to be mold. I would stay somewhere else.”

• BAD HOTEL - shabby, dirty, uneven floors, smelly.

“I was planning a nice little trip to Lawrence with my wife. We arrived in our room, and it was dirty, shabby, and very old. Dirty hallways, random hairs on the bed covers, and a window heater that was either hot or cold, not in between.”

• Pillows were fantastic, bed very comfortable. TV good. Fridge good. Nice shower.
• Continental breakfast very, very small portion.

“The shower had a screw holding the shower rod up, there was rust all of the tub. The walls had paint coming down. There was urine running down the bathroom wall by the toilet and to top it off there was mold growing in the bathroom. If my children get sick after staying in this room, this hotel will be hearing about it.”

• Hotel staff was ok, otherwise the hotel was terrible.
• Hotel was dirty, loud, smelled terribly of smoke and sewer, old, and was very rundown.

“This hotel was a complete disappointment from start to finish. It is an old, rundown hotel that smells terrible (smoke and raw sewage smell) in the halls and in the rooms. The staff was ok, but the facility was dirty, dark, and uninviting. Our room doors looked like they had been broken into before (bent door frames and gaps). Stay somewhere else, no matter the price, or you'll be sorry! We were. We'll definitely never stay there again. It was a terrible hotel to stay in.”

“The staff was friendly and accommodating. Even though the whole hotel is in desperate need of an updating, the room was very clean - extra towels in the room was appreciated. The first night was comfortable and quiet, but the 2nd night awoke at 2:30am to a loud party above. I weighed the options of calling the front desk but choose not to - covered my head with pillow and hoped they'd pass out soon!”

“Hotel is in a excellent location in town. hotel does seem to be dated and need of remodeling. nice pool facility. Outside security doors don't work. Room security ok. Staff was friendly and professional. Would recommend if on a budget.”
