“The staff was friendly and the baseball theme of the hotel was nice. The downside was the room was small, no real closet, no pool or hot tub and the work out equipment was old. (worn out) The location of the hotel is outstanding, I could see Discovery Green from my window and there were many places to eat near by.” Dec 3, 2009 by
Emmitte from New Braunfels,TX
“Good location. Polite staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed and bedding.” Dec 1, 2009 by
Kathleen from Arlington,TX
“We enjoyed our stay. It was a last-minute trip for us (funeral), so I had little time to prepare and price-shop. Priceline made it possible for us to stay in a nice, safe hotel, close to where we needed to be. Since it was Thanksgiving weekend, I thought we might have trouble finding a nice hotel at a good rate, but this was both!” Nov 25, 2009 by
Thanh from Austin,TX
“The front desk put me a smoking room in a smoking floor without informed or asked me. I did not realize my room is for smoking until middle of the night when the smoking air was circulated in the floor. The front desk and manager refused to compensate for the discomfort I suffered. And they are very impolite in handling the matter.” Nov 19, 2009 by
Dustin from Beamont,TX
“The hotel was too expensive, on all fronts. Parking was non existent and 23.00 for parking is absurd.” Nov 19, 2009 by
Cheri from College Station,TX
“Overpriced with few amenities, no swimming pool with hidden charges for everything. Do not recommend for leisure travelers.” Nov 19, 2009 by
Corey from Spring,TX
“Overall the hotel was very nice. very well decorated and clean. what made our stay bad was a staff member. she was rude, and she wasn't friendly. we and a group of friends were there celebrating our marriage anniversary. we asked for a late check out because one of the couples flew in town. she said no. a one o'clock check out? come on..” Oct 27, 2009 by
Lisa from College Station,TX
“Great hotel, couldn't ask for a better place to stay to attend a baseball game or any event downtown! Super hospitable!” Oct 14, 2009 by
Daniel from Katy,TX
“Nice interior with baseball theme. Directly across from the Astro's Minute Maid Field. $10 cab ride to anywhere in the downtown/midtown area.” Aug 19, 2009 by
Mike from Corpus Christi,TX “I got the room for my son and daughter-in-law for their anniversary. they are on a limited budget as they are young parents. My son ordered room service and paid the attendant and tipped him at their door. After the attendant left they had their dinner when my son noticed he had mistakenly include a $100 bill in with the other money he had given the attendant. He called the desk and they said we thought that was a BIG tip and returned the $100 and saved their weekend. Don't see honest people like that much anymore. Thanks!” Aug 19, 2009 by
David Hughes from Texarkana,AR
“Fantastic. Close to downtown convention center - runs a shuttle from hotel to eating places and convention center. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Directly across the street from the ballpark. Couldn't ask for a better hotel in town.” Aug 15, 2009 by

“Nice hotel, but room service was slow and valet parking service was terrible, especially for mandatory valet service at $22/day.” Mar 15, 2009 by
Mike from Naperville,IL
“The hotel is across the street from the baseball stadium and next to a top notch steak house. Not a bad walk to a majority of the fun downtown night spots and the room, lobby and bar areas are in the top of their categories for sure.” Mar 10, 2009 by
Deborah from Dickinson,TX
“Three times I attempted to speak with a manager regarding my unpleasant experience, either they did not answer phone or they answered, said they would call back and didn't. No one appeared to care about my experience there.” Mar 3, 2009 by
Van from Round Rock,TX

“Nice, loved the bathroom, the wood floors, staff was decent.” Feb 17, 2009 by
Chad from Pearland,TX
“The hotel exceeded my expectations. The interior decor reminded me of a sports lodge. Very Ralph Lauren inspired with dark reds, greens and blues. Also, it was the first time I've seen a hotel room with hardwood floors, very nice! It is right next to the baseball stadium and I visited in the off-season so I'm sure this place is packed during baseball season.” Dec 4, 2008 by
Jon from Plano,TX
“This hotel stay was amazing. The staff was very friendly and took care of all of my needs. The hotel was very clean and the theme of baseball decor was outstanding.” Dec 3, 2008 by

“This hotel was ok to stay in. The staff was extremly rude.” Sep 10, 2008 by

“It is located across from minute Maid Park. They took every opportunity to embrace the baseball theme in all aspects of the hotel.” Sep 8, 2008 by

“I think the extra fee for double beds fee is totally not reasonable!” Sep 4, 2008 by
Devon from Crosby, TX
“It was clean but the service leaves something to be desired. We met a couple who arrived in dress and tux and they did not even receive any champagne from desk, the bar was nice enough to send it to them saying complementary then when we saw them at check out they were charged.” Aug 14, 2008 by
David from Pampa, TX
“This is the first time that I had to pay extra for the second bed and parking the car. I did not have an choice on the parking fee.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Mike from Nacogdoches, TX
“Located just one block from Minute-Maid Stadium, this hotel is located in a not-so-nice part of downtown Houston. That means you will be driving to restaurants and shopping areas. Clean rooms with emphasis on baseball themes throughout might make a great place to crash in after an exciting Houston Astros game, but be prepared to pay the $29 per day valet parking service, because there is no other hotel parking available. They are not the four-star hotel that you might expect.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Dan from Olney, TX
“Hotel is next to Minute Maid stadium and is overly decorated with a baseball theme. It's at the east edge of downtown. There is no pool so I gave it a 3 star. I had an interior/atrium room with a window that looked over the atrium not outside. The decor is baseball and clubby. It's ok but a bit too much. The bed was comfortable enough but not luxurious and the mattress seemed light and thin. The room was big with a sofa and work desk and free internet. I was told there is no self park, valet is expensive and there was no mini bar in room. Overall I would rate the hotel 3.5 stars. Not a bad hotel but a pretty poor location unless you are attending a game, which I wasn't.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Erika from Houston, TX
“When we arrived we asked for late check out because they told us we would have to check out by 11. The next morning we tried to order room service early and it showed up late, without salt, pepper etc. By 11:20 the front desk was rudely calling us to tell us that we had to check out in 10 minutes or be charged an extra day, when we informed them that we were trying to get ready and we would check out shortly - that we had late check out they told us we were lying and needed to get to the front desk right away. They called back 5 min later and were rude again. At 11:30 the GM was knocking on our door telling us that the front desk so we refused to leave - which was not true and was extremely rude. I will never stay at this hotel again and since this is in the city that I live I have told many people about the bad service. There is also no pool so this hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating. I can't even explain how horrible the staff was - the only nice people were the concierge and the room service boy who delivered our food. Everyone else was not accommodating.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Peggy from Midland, TX

“I was in Houston, TX, getting my passport because I would soon be visiting Mexico, I ended up having to stay overnight. Parking was very confusing, apparently the hotel only offers valet. I had passed it up because the valet area was full and parked less than a block away, right across the street from the Houston Astro's Ball Park. Since I was planing on leaving shortly after check-in and getting dinner, I figured staying at the meter wouldn't be a problem. I put money in the meter and noticed a sign that instructed me to call a number fot the events hotline (if there was to be an event at the park, then parking would be limited to a certain time). I called the number and got a messege that there were no events at this time. I went inside and checked in, told them where I parked and asked about hotel parking. Being the Inn at the Ballpark, I figured that they would have known that there was a game and told me that I should move my car so when I went to go get it after checking in a dropping my baggage off in my room I wouldn't get a ticket (which I did, because there ended up being a ball game that night.) I came back to my room, and was very pleased with the AC because in Houston, it's a must. Everything was comfortable and plush, although the TV was situated at an odd angle to the bed. Everything was fine utill about 5 a.m. when the fire alarm went off. I went outside and saw everyone going back into the hotel and up to their rooms. I waited at the front desk for a clerk to show up and tell me it was just a false alarm and I could return to my room. The alarm contiued to sound for two hours. After the alarm finally stopped, I got a phone call at about 7:30 waking me up again. It was a wake-up call that I never ordered. In the morning there was no apology by any of the staff at the desk and nothing from the management. I can understand that it wasn't the morning staff.” May 22, 2008 by
Diana from Port Arthur, TX
“Hotel is right by Minute Maid park. If you are an baseball fan, you will love this hotel. Friendly staff. Rooms are very clean. Rooms have a ceiling fan which was nice. I have never been in a hotel room that had a ceiling fan. The decor is probably more male oriented.” May 11, 2008 by
Denise from Highlands, TX
“A very nice property and a great location. A bit noisy when the Astor's are having a home game, but overall, a very nice hotel.” May 6, 2008 by
Gary from Beaumont, TX
“Required up charge for 2 beds. Kids changed their minds so this was not a problem this trip. Asked for a room with a view as it had become a romantic weekend and we were ordering room service. We were given a room with a window that opened onto the lobby. Not exactly what I had in mind. When calling hotel or front desk they were very slow to answer, also they were not sure of how to order from restaurant although it was listed in the in-room information. Overall, ok place if you are going to a baseball game.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Laura L. from Round Rock, TX

“In all, very clean, very warm, very nice! The rooms were comfortable and inviting. The staff was courteous. The restaurant and bar staff were professional. The food and drinks were priced fairly and met expectations.” Apr 19, 2008 by
Don from Nederland, TX
“Unique atmosphere great hotel. Wonderful location I was not crazy about the parking situation 20 valet or you have to look all over for a spot and there pay once you park but that was the only downside.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Janna from Brazoria, TX
“Overall, was a very nice place to stay. There was no parking so you had to valet park. It would have been nice to have been able to swim, relax in hot tub or get a massage. Room service was good. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were excellent.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Kip from College Station, TX
“The Inn at the ballpark is the place to stay in Downtown Houston. It is clean, well furnished, and well staffed.” Apr 4, 2008 by
A from Bryan, TX
“Hotel was located on outskirts of Downtown Houston, not near bars/restaurants. The hotel was very manly in its decor and appearance - hunter green, maroon and amber plaids with baseball motifs everywhere, I felt like I was in a fraternity house.” Mar 21, 2008 by
Jo from White Oak, TX
“Like above, charging you 30.00 a night for 2 double beds instead of a king is a little much. We had our two daughters with us, and of course had to pay the extra. Also, parking was 22.95 a day. I don't mind paying for parking, but that was almost double from what our friends paid same area.” Mar 20, 2008 by
Nancy from Orange, TX
“Overall, the hotel was great. I would love to stay there with adults. However, the theme was a little old fashioned or my taste. There was no pool and we were looking for a night of relaxing while the kids played around in the pool.”
