“Great rooms, OK beds and great views.” Jul 6, 2009 by
Sam from Windcrest,TX
“Overall great place to stay. It is very elegant and stylish and while you shouldn't take your kids there it's a great place to take the spouse. You will love the bathrooms in this place, it's about the size of most rooms in other hotels.” May 27, 2009 by
Richard from Orange,TX
“Really enjoyed the hoel's decor.” Apr 1, 2009 by
Matt from San Antonio,TX
“Gorgeous, stylish hotel and historic building. Extremely well-appointed room and very helpful staff. Mandatory valet parking expensive, but you only pay once at the end of your stay and it is very convenient.” Mar 25, 2009 by
Daryoush from San Antonio,TX
“Very cool place. Close to hip spots in downtown Houston.” Mar 14, 2009 by
D Lowe from Orange,TX
“My husband and I were traveling with our 7 and 4 year old to visit downtown Houston during the week. As soon as we entered the hotel we were in awe. We knew immediately we were staying in a 4 star hotel. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our room looked like it was straight out of a magazine, very spacious, romantic, plenty of storage space, clean and very European. The bathroom was great, huge soaking tub, large walk in shower and lots of vanity space. The kids found the bathroom quite entertaining with the large mirror. Valet parking costs $26. I would definitely stay here again!” Feb 17, 2009 by
Melissa from Huntsville,TX
“From the moment we pulled into the parking garage and walked into the lobby, everything was gorgeous. The staff was hospitable and great in customer service. The bathroom with the huge glass door showers and large jucuzzi tub were the best I've seen in a hotel. The hotel breakfast was excellent,a bit pricey, but right for the type of hotel that Hotel Icon is.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Angela from El Paso, TX
“The hotel was great! I would recommend everyone to stay there while visiting Houston. You get a lot for your money!” Aug 11, 2008 by
Shaun from South Windsor, CT
“The staff at the hotel was great, we had the two double beds as requested. Our room was spacious, especially the bathroom. The interior design of the hotel was also very nice. The location was also good, near the Ballpark and many nearby bars and restaurants. I almost forgot too, this was by far, one of the best hotel gyms I have ever used. It had great machines, a ton of free weights and equipment, I was thoroughly impressed. It far exceeded my expectations.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Jaime from Streamwood, IL
“The room was great, nice bedding and the bathroom was fantastic. Everything was great, but they did seem to be slightly understaffed at the front desk. We has to wait in line for about 15 minutes to check in. The accommodations were worth the wait, however. We really liked the candy buffet set up in the lobby. We helped our selves a couple of times! Great location in the heart of nightlife and restaurants.” Jul 24, 2008 by
James from Huntsville, TX
“Close to restaurants and businesses. My husband and I had to share a full size bed!” Jul 7, 2008 by
Brad from Round Rock, TX
“Overall, a really nice hotel. Better for couples, less for families. Great design, style and huge bathrooms (my son's favorite).” Jun 28, 2008 by
Philip from Delta, BC CA
“No bathtub for available for bath/spa experience. Other rooms in hotel were larger with up to king size beds not available despite requesting prior to arrival.” May 24, 2008 by
Justin from San Antonio, TX
“I had a nice stay and am recommending it to friends.” May 20, 2008 by
Deborah from Houston, TX
“It's a very nice hotel with a wonderful restaurant if you are wanting to spend some money! It's a great place for a romantic weekend!” May 18, 2008 by
Andy from Louisville, CO
“Great hotel in a poor location. Was hoping for more with Downtown Houston, but it has a long way to go to match the revitalized downtowns of other major cities. Overnight parking is impossible without using a $25 valet service. Parking is free on the streets after 6 p.m., but you have to move your car by 7 a.m. Rooms are fantastic, bar/lounge is well designed and enjoyable. Downtown needs to catch up to this hotel, but there sure are a lot of vacant store fronts and former restaurants - depressing.” May 13, 2008 by
Melanie from Angleton, TX
“I was quite shocked to find this room with a full size bed instead of a king or at least queen. Although the view from our room wasn't much, the comfort and decor were great.” May 6, 2008 by
Julie from Kingsport, TN
“Hotel Icon is in an old bank building, complete with original vault behind front desk. It has very relaxing lobby which is great for business meetings or socializing with friends. Nice location right off of Main street. Complimentary car service any where in downtown area was added bonus.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Elizabeth from Austin, TX
“Overall, I thought the hotel was very nice and staff accommodating.” Mar 21, 2008 by
Monica from Angie, LA
“Upon entering the hotel, my husband and I were very impressed with its beauty. Room service was great- the food was good and delivered to our room in less time than was estimated. All of the small touches added by the hotel were really nice as well. We plan to stay there again.” Feb 18, 2008 by
George from Houston, TX
“One of the finest hotels my wife have stayed at - we chose it for Valentine's day and we were not disappointed - they ran a bath for us, rose pedals, etc. 24 hour room service & valet parking. English cab- truly a quality hotel.” Dec 3, 2007 by
Gina from San Antonio, TX
“Loved it -- would stay again and highly recommend.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Jeff from Houston, TX
“Overall, we had a wonderful time. I surprised my family with this trip. This was the second time that we've gone. The first time was for our anniversary and they upgraded us to a suite, which was extremely nice. Very European and very romantic. This trip, we brought the kids and they loved it as well. We were upgraded to a larger room that had a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom that had shutters that opened up into the bedroom. Hard to describe but a very nice touch. The staff was very friendly and they even had a complementary car that drove you around downtown. They took us to dinner at Kim Sons and then drove us over to the Spindletop (a revolving restaurant on the top of the Hyatt hotel) for dessert and then brought us back to the hotel. A nice touch that could easily have made our stay more expensive. The only downside was room service at breakfast. They forgot to bring mine. I'm not a big fan of room service meals to begin with (almost always cold or at least not very hot) but it took them over 45 min to send up a replacement (still not very good) and then we were charged twice for the item. It took us about 30 minutes at the front desk for them to correct the bill. But I wouldn't hold it against the hotel. We still had a great time.” Nov 26, 2007 by
Lisa from Pearland, TX
“Beautiful. Comfortable. Wonderful walk in shower. The staff was extremely courteous. I would definitely stay again. I highly recommend hotel icon.” Sep 3, 2007 by
Jessica from Jacksonville, FL
“Small problems immediately corrected by guest relations. Overall, a delightful place to stay in a very nice area of historic downtown Houston.” May 15, 2007 by
Sunil from College Station, TX
“This is the perfect hotel for a romantic getaway that has both style and class. The rooms are pricey but well worth the money.” May 1, 2007 by
Kevin from League City, TX
“I selected this Hotel Icon because of the special occasion that my wife and I were celebrating. My expectations were surpassed and we had a great time. The staff was very helpful and warm. Hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. We loved the room and decor. I would definitely stay there again.” Apr 25, 2007 by
Mark from Houston, TX
“The hotel manager told us that they had several guests who wanted to stay an extra day so they did not have a room for us! It was a horrible experience. They said they would send us a gift certificate to compensate, but we have not received it yet.” Apr 25, 2007 by
Courtney from Dallas, TX
“The hotel itself is very nice and has the boutique hotel feel, but the staff seemed very ill-equipped. I booked a room for two adults labeled 'room type: premium room w/king or 2 double beds' and was given a 'single' room that was the size of a closet with a tiny full size bed and was told that there were no other options. I didn't even know rooms this small existed, let alone would be given for a reservation for two guests. After repeated requests of wanting the situation rectified, and being put on hold and no one ever coming back on the line, I went back to the front desk to speak to a manager in person. We were eventually moved to a king size room, but had to move to the smoking floor, which was not desirable. Calling for your car from the valet was a waste of time; they didn't have it ready, and hadn't even gone to get it before you got downstairs to the garage and asked again. Overall I was disappointed because we kept encountering bad service again and again, but the hotel was very beautiful. Others I know have stayed here and loved it, so perhaps I was just unlucky.” Apr 25, 2007 by
John from Richmond, TX
“Upon check-in, I was given a sub-par room next to an elevator and with a full bed instead of a king. It was explained to me that "outside" reservations are given these rooms. They did move us to a better room with a king-sized bed. The hotel is quite beautiful inside and appointed very well. Negatives are street noise (including a church bell that started ringing at 5:00am) and $25 valet parking (no self-park lot).” Mar 29, 2007 by
Dora from Lake Charles, LA
“The hotel was very beautiful in the old world decor. The amenities were very nice. We ate at the hotel restaurant the bank and it was great food. The restaurant was pricey but we expected that. The lobby area was very warm with deep rich colors. The rooms were spacious and inviting. We loved the bathroom. It had a very large walk-in glass shower and Jacuzzi tub for two. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Nice restaurants a short walk away. Also, the metro rail was 1/2 block from the hotel. The only complaint would be not to get a room facing main street, because of the street noise. I think an interior room would have been much nicer.” Mar 21, 2007 by
Kendal from Houston, TX
“Beautiful building and friendly staff. Nice location for downtown- but not for those that want to go to bed early! On Saturday night the street noise could keep you up till 3 am!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 10, 2007 by

“Great hotel for business and the occasional leisure traveler. Good location and the best service of any hotel in Houston. Needs larger and/or plasma TVżs for the price. Upgrade to the west in type "heavenly bed" should be a priority.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 17, 2006 by

“All you could expect from a posh, service oriented hotel. Excellent service from valet parking to checkout. Entering the lobby and absorbing the wonderful aroma from BANK restaurant added to the aura of our experience. Lavish and grand can only explain the wonderful, but brief time we spent in the Junior Suite with a great view of Houston Historic District.” Apr 29, 2006 by
Julie from Sugarland, TX
“The Icon Hotel is a quaint hotel best suited for the business traveler or leisure get away. I enjoyed the transportation service they provided and also the rooms were totally upscale. Very nice.” Mar 9, 2006 by
Nyla from Harrisburg, IL
“I loved Hotel Icon. Houston was not my favorite city, but being in this luxurious hotel made my stay wonderful. The London service allowed me to travel within the downtown area without paying high taxi cab fares. The hotel room was gorgeous. The bathroom was luxurious, complete with a whirlpool garden tub. Turndown service nightly was a nice treat after a long day.”
