• Enclosed passageway to the George R. Brown convention center. Well lighted area at night. Scenic park across the street. Very quiet.
• Had to pay for parking in hotel garage. No refrigerator for medical needs. Shower head was poorly adjusted and ran water all over floor .

“Excellent location to sports arena, Minute Maid park, Toyota Center, GRB convention center. Very upscale restaurants nearby. Close to freeway system. Spacious rooms. Good amenities. Pool and spa relaxing. Pool on roof with adjoining patio that overlooked the city.”

“I was with my daughter and granddaughters and felt very safe at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was nice to have the choice of valet service since we were women alone. Would definately stay again.”

• Every time I've stayed at this hotel we had excellent service from the front desk to check our choice for downtown Houston, Texas.

• Spectacular lobby, pool area is gorgeous also.
• Had two double beds, wanted one king; also was told the courtesy bus would pick us up after the opera - it didn't come get us!

“The hotel is the nicest Hilton I've ever stayed in. The staff is excellent, though it would have been nice to have another option from the crowded, loud lobby bar for a late night cocktail in a quieter setting.”

• It was a 5 minute walk from Minute Maid ballpark.
• They charge you to use their fitness facility.

“Overall our stay was pleasant but I was really upset that they charge you to use their fitness facility. This expense is egregious considering you are already paying to stay there.”

• Location, convenience, and common areas.
• Maintenance.

“That aside, a hotel of this level is usually held to higher standards. I stayed in a total of two rooms. The first had a backed up toilet; the second had a clogged sink. I called service in the first room and they sent someone up very quickly to fix it. I didn't have time to bother with the sink so it stayed as it was. The room service was very pleasant but did not listen very well to instructions. All in all, the hotel is very nice; and they could train their maintenance and service staff better.”

• The rooms were very nice, it was odd to have the toilet by the front door.
• The pool was closed. The staff did not bring a crib as requested. The breakfast buffet was not good. Soggy eggs and soggy french toast.

“Hotel is attractive and clean but perhaps the prices on the room rentals should increase to keep a rough crowd away. There was a hotel party in the room next to mine but security put a stop to it as soon as we called to complain. Staff was really nice! I would stay there again but maybe just not during a busy holiday.”

• The 24th floor bar, all glass that showed city lights.
• Our room had 2 double bed. Beds way too small for a couple.

“The location of this hotel is marvelous. Right across the st. is a beautiful park, with ice skating rink and great restaurant. Our couples massage at the hotel was great and the infinity pool and outdoor area on the 23rd floor was beautiful and relaxing. Loved this hotel. Just didn't like having a room with 2 double beds. Wished it had bigger beds.”

• I loved the location. The downtown area is very nice.
• We were unable to enjoy the hot tub because of all the teenagers.

“Overall, I was happy with the hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable and the staff was nice. The location was great - there were free concerts in the park across the street each night. Travelers should be aware of the $15/day parking fee and charges for internet.”

• The complimentary shuttle service was excellent!

“The bell staff that greeted us when we arrived was pleasant and helpful; not too pushy about getting our bags for us. A couple people on the bell staff later gave an excellent restaurant recommendation and we learned of the complimentary shuttle when we asked for a cab. The shuttle dropped us at the restaurant and we called them to pick us up. They later dropped us off for a concert, which was much more convenient than finding parking ourselves. We had to take a cab back, but the hotel is conveniently located. The hotel was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Overall a great stay!”

• I did not find the staff very friendly.

“I really enjoyed this hotel, it was in an excellent location in downtown Houston, easy to find with many amenities both inside and outside of the hotel. The hotel staff could have been a little friendlier. There were many conventions going on at this hotel the weekend I stayed there and I found staff to be less friendly to those who were not staying for a convention. Overall I would recommend this hotel to others.”

• It is beautiful.
• The security staff.

“While the hotel was beautiful and spacious, I had a major problem with the security staff. A security guard came to my room around midnight and told me "its late and you need to go to bed." I was talking on my cell phone and the only one in the room! I was not being loud, and he returned twice, though I suspect he had his ear to the door. I felt harassed and will not return.”

“This hotel was not so much! The hotel was fine, staff seemed a little busy, but 7:00 am morning of check-out there were 3 men sprawled out on the floor in the hallway with power tools working on the base boards; very unique wake up call and very hard to roll your luggage over their extension cords. Hotel was clean, as far as I could tell.”

• Spacious room.
• Charged daily rate for parking and the internet - $25 per day.

“The room was nice - but they charged you extra for normal things that are usually free - like parking - $15 per day and the internet - $11 per day - I was disappointed in this - also - the vending machines were empty and the muffin I got at the coffee bar was stale.”

“The hotel was wonderful. We had problems with other guests. There was a fraternity that was partying all night and in the halls. They woke me, my wife and my baby up several times. We had to call the front desk 4 or 5 times. Finally after 3:00 it got quiet.”
