  • Very modern decor, excellent hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there.
  • Navigating in downtown Houston can be a bit tricky.

  • Pleasant staff. Good location.
  • Only full size or kings. No queens. $ parking.

  • Very attractive, quiet, flat screens, great service (bartender went to the kitchen to make hot chocolate for my daughter after room service closed.
  • I liked everything.

“I was very impressed with the quality of appointments, and with the service. The detective and the doorman combined to send out bulletins to city taxi companies to find and return a purse of my daughter left in a taxi, with credit cards and money intact!”

“This was the nicest hotel I have stayed in. The room and hotel were immaculate and beautiful. The staff all were very nice from the valet guys, to the front desk staff, to the housekeeping employees, to room service. I enjoyed my experience so much! The food that I ordered which included a dinner of steak and an omelet for breakfast were delicious. I would like to stay at this hotel anytime I am in Houston. Any other hotel would just be a disappointment.”

  • Staff was very helpful. Bellmen went above and beyond.
  • Pool was geared toward swimming laps and not kid friendly and parking was expensive.

“My only complaint was the pool not being kid friendly. Staff was wonderful, they make a point of addressing me specifically by my name. Shuttle driver even gave me his cell phone number in case we needed to be picked up from Minute Maid park before the game ended.”

  • They gave me the crappiest room they had.

“Got a great deal on Priceline and the hotel was real empty but they STILL gave me one of the crappiest roons possible. 1150 was the only room on the elevator lobby and adjoined other rooms on both sides.”

  • The rooms were clean.
  • There was no where near to park for free and the hotel price cost more than regions next door.

“We had a good experience except for one of the bell boys. It could have been that he did not speak English very well (Spanish) but I asked for him to let go of our luggage cart politely five times before he would do so. The manger explained later they want a worker with every cart. It was an awkward situation.”

  • Friendly staff beyond expectations.
  • Hard to determine the entrance, due to construction, as well as parking.

“Construction on rooms and the entrance is ongoing, but was quiet and caused no problems. The staff, from check-in, to recommending local restaurants, to the eateries, even to the shuttle drivers, were fantastic. Hotel offers a local shuttle to Minute Maid Park to see Astro games. About 8 blocks from the Downtown Aquarium, which is too far in the Houston summers, but taxis are only $6 to anywhere downtown, and the bell staff is more than happy to help you get one. Nice room, no fridge and no free Internet, but overall a great experience.”

“Wonderful getaway for the weekend. Car service takes you anywhere downtown. Hotel was full of young high school girls for some type of weekend event, but wasn't loud in room. Staff nice and helpful. Would definately recommend.”

  • Wonderful, attentive staff, comfortable beds, great shower.
  • The service elevator was down so I couldn't use the pool.

“I stayed at the Hyatt for one night while in Houston on business. I was traveling alone and arrived early with the intention of using the pool and the gym. Unfortunately, the service elevators were down so I couldn't access the pool. The gym made up for that. Huge space, delicious ice cold lemon water and cool scented washcloths plus great machines. I had a glass of wine in the Lobby Bar before heading out to the guest services recommended Bonsai Sushi for dinner, located a couple blocks up the road. The service at the bar was great. The staff was very attentive and handled all of my requests. I did not valet park but used the self-parking and had no issues. Great hotel!”

  • The rooms had just been remodeled, they had Starbucks and nice bar.
  • The cost for valet parking was $27. They parked my car across the street in a parking lot. That cost $18 for self parking.

“Newly remodeled rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice bar, lobby area. Had a StarBucks with a Deli. Could walk to other area restaurants. Had a shuttle to and from Minute Maid Park.”

  • Close to the George R Brown convention center; we walked there.
  • I had ants in our room 24th floor and they bite my toes.

“There was no free breakfast. Parking was either valet or parking lot with $15 entry fee every time you and come back. Downtown restaurants were closed on weekends. A bottle of water at the hotel costs $3.50! Beds were small and stiff and the linens were scratchy.”

  • The staff went above and beyond. Specific requests were handled promptly and efficiently with a smile.
  • The music on around the pool. I prefer quiet.

“Good downtown location. Option for self parking nearby with great valet service available. The staff was all friendly and seemed to know how to do their job and get other help if they did not have an answer. Well integrated teamwork. Late checkout easily granted. It would be above average for this star rating for a business traveler or a couple wanting to stay downtown.”

  • Atrium too loud.

“This hotel was very nice. However, I did not check Houston's calendar of events prior to booking. Houston was host to some wrestling event for that weekend. Lets just say the Hyatt with the high atrium and wrestling yells until after 2:00 am did not make for a good night sleep.”

  • Great location, very close to good restaurants and the merto rail.
  • Waited 45 minutes for towels, had to call down twice for them. Valet gave us wrong directions when we left. Business center was down.

  • Spacious room with great views.
  • Spindletop Restaurant was still closed after hurricane. Biggest complaint - only valet parking at $27/night.

“Most hotels offer either valet or self park, but this Hyatt only would valet at $27/day, so we self parked next door or on the street metered spots for $15 per day.”

  • Very clean. Had a newly remodeled room. It was excellent.
  • Too many guests for the number of elevators. Had to wait over a half hour for elevator at check out.

“The staff were were customer friendly. Was unprepared for the parking situation; $27 per day valet parking was the best choice. There were many guests going and coming for the same event and the lines were long for getting your car. Also unable to access car to get things out of it as desired. At check out waited over an hour to get car as the line was very long. The workers were efficient, it just took time to get cars loaded and out of the way for the next ones.”

“It was the worst I've had at and hotel ever the customer service was very poor, rooms in poor condition,valet not organized. I would not recommend another to that hotel until the remodel is complete, it was truly the worst.”

“The location of this hotel was awesome. The room, however, was disappointing. The bathroom was dirty, mold all over the ceiling and in the tiles, and the towels were stained with makeup (not mine). The bed was lumpy and the sheets were scratchy.”

  • Hotel is very convenient to downtown locations and shuttle is a great benefit.
  • Rooms, though recently remodeled, are very ordinary.

  • The location is great. It is located centrally downtown.
  • The hotel was setting up for a Christmas party, thus the lobby area was under construction. I was placed on phone hold for over 20 minutes.

  • The hotel restaurant's prices are sky-high! Beware!

“Coming in from the north on I-45,I had a hell of a time finding the hotel! Even though the hotel is on Louisiana St in downtown Houston,one has to literally go around the adjacent block just getting to the valet parking(which seems to be the only option).I was billed almost $25 for overnight parking,Don Shula's Steakhouse(in house restaurant)has ridiculous prices for steak dinners,the waiter disappeared for stretches of time and there was light redecorating going on in the lobby area(fabulous atrium at least!) For the overnight guest with a car, not a cheap, inviting place to stay!”
