- I needed a wheelchair during my stay. The staff initially could not find one, and then found one missing several parts.

- Bellman and valet personnel were great!
- The staff at the DeCafe were awful!
“The hotel and its service staff were great. The two women staffing DeCafe at 11:00 PM on Monday night were not just unhelpful. They were rude and downright uncivilized. They did their best to avoid doing anything for the customers. I also noticed at the same time a long line of hotel guests trying to check in and the poor lonely night desk clerk trying to handle them as best she could.”

- The lobby was very nice. The hotel staff was accommodating.

- Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Starting a remodel, which it's ready for.
“This hotel is starting a remodel, which we were concerned about. However, our room was fine, but you could see it was ready for a redo, considering it's considered a 4 star. We were very pleased with the front desk. They gave us a nice, upper floor room, but it turned out to have a noisy group next door. When we called about moving, they were very accommodating and apologetic. They even offered a cheese plate or wine, even though the noise was not their fault. Location is good for Downtown Houston. It's not right in the heart of the entertainment area, but certainly within walking distance, if it's not the middle of Houston's hot and humid summer. We just stayed one night, so did not check out the restaurants or other facilities.”

- Well built and affordable cost.
- Room had strong sewerage/toilet smell. No solution/room change offered despite multiple calls. Very poor issue handling and client service.
“This hotel is very well built and located. Despite potential to be a world class hotel, very poor customer service, indifference to customer issues and consistent poor response/customer service from staff and management, completely dilute any positive perception. This comes after being a repeat business guest with multiple stays/rooms. They have always exhibited this weakness. The moment I checked in for the weekend and walked into the room, it had a very strong pungent sewerage/toilet smell. Despite reporting this problem multiple times, no solution or room change was offered. The first response came more than 24 hours later, after multiple phone calls. Even after staff said it was corrected, the problem persisted and recurred with an even worse smell the next day. Their actions, statements and the recurrence led me to believe they were aware of a more serious problem, e.g. room located next to a malfunctioning sewer line, but were not straightforward/forthcoming with the issue and unwilling to give an alternative solution. Very disappointing. The poor air system didn't help much either.”

- The public spaces are very nice - location is very good.
- The rooms are very Spartan - just the very basic.

- The Lobby and Bar area was very nice.
- Room smelled like cat urine, Heater leaked a lot of water onto the floor, maid didn't do much
“On day 2 I ask the maid to give us fresh towels in the bathroom and empty the garbage. She layed towels on the bed and garbage bags on the bed she couldn't even take the trash with her...”

- Absolutely first rate.
- The counter girl in the "Decafe" selling Starbucks was the most unenthusiastic person in "sales" that I've encountered in quite some time.
“Wonderful Lobby area. Nice breakfast bar (14.95), but comes with omelets made to order, bacon, sausage, fruits, crepes, etc, etc, and coffee & orange juice. We knew ahead of time about the $21 valet service, but well worth it with unlimited in/out. We were offered King/NS, and gladly accepted. Nice room. Tile floor bathroom. Very clean.”

- The beds were very comfortable. When we needed something from the Concierge, they brought it to us promptly and then called back to see if we got it.
- The valet. They were not very organized. They had some big parties and lost some car keys, mine being one of them.

- No hassles, friendly staff, great pool, quiet.
- Parking $24-30 a day unless you park outside.
“Spectacular high rise, great breakfast buffet, large heated pool on 6th story outside. Staff pleasant and not stuffy, I felt welcome. Plush beds on the soft side for me. I would stay again anytime , especially after wasting money on the Hilton nearby once before!”

- The location, bell hop and front desk service.

“The hotel was great I would stay again. As far as the valet service it sucked. I had to wait 45 minutes for my car while others that came down after me received their car. This made my daughter late for cheer leading warm ups at the convention centre. That was the main reason for choosing this location.”

- The hotel is well a very wonderful hotel. The staff is friendly and very egar to assist.
- There is no self parking and parking in a nearby garage is very expensive.

- Awesome roof top restaurant.
- It would be nice if parking for people staying at hotel was free or discounted, but expensive valet parking is expected.
“Only extras were the valet parking, which was pricey, yet everything else beautiful. Very nice hotel with many amenities. Would only stay in this hotel if we went back to Houston. This hotel is in the nicest area of the city and you can walk everywhere, they even have an underground tunnel system with entrance from this hotel. Also, if you like good coffee, they also have a Starbucks.”

- Not enough restaurants, bars, and night life within hotels, I don't like to leave the hotel to drink.

- beds were very comfortable. location great and was during Actors playoff time so atmosphere was electric.
- The Spindle top Restaurant and Bar had a cafeteria type smell to it so we didn't stay.

- access to elevators was very difficult on Sunday. My son and I had to walk down 20 flights of stairs.
“There are not enough elevators to accommodate a large event. On Saturday night and Sunday morning the elevators were completely inaccessible due a large event and we had to use the stairs to come down from the 20th floor.”

- Good location for downtown Houston
- toilet paper stuck in air vent to stop rattle. Dusty room. Two burned out light bulbs.
“Hotel opened in the '70s. Has been remolded, but still it's a '70's hotel. House keeping standards have fallen since last stay there 14 years ago. Outside pool has no area lighting, too dark. The pool area has an exit to a parking garage, would provide easy escape if a crime was committed in the pool area. I would not let my 12 year old daughter in the pool area by herself.”

- The price and style.
- The location, age of decor and carpet stains.
“I'm sure in it's heyday, this was a grand hotel but it's showing it's age in the cracked tile in the shower and the dirty carpet. It still has potential but needs updating. The location is only good if you have business or pleasure downtown otherwise between the high cost of parking and traffic, it's not worth the cost.”

- Location to downtown Houston.
- The wait for valet parking was frustrating at best!
“I would not stay here again. Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful and the rooms were not cleaned properly by house keeping. It is definitely not what I would expect from a Hyatt Hotel.”

- Location.
- The valet parking staff was TERRIBLE.
“Hotel room were of a good size but a bit worn and dingy. The bathroom was well appointed, but housekeeping staff were not very thorough in their functions. On three separate occasions, I waited over 35 minutes for my vehicle from valet parking and they either misplaced the car, keys or were generally disorganized.”

- Pool size is nice and with comfortable temperature.
- Parking took 1/2 hour for attendant to find our car.
“Located in the theater district, this stunning looking hotel has an inviting "conversation pit" bar and restaurant right in the open-space lobby, Comfortable beds with state of the art mattresses and a larger-than-most pool and patio. Unfortunately, they lost our car for a while, causing us a delay, but this appears to happen infrequently.”

- It's a 4 stars hotel with a quite good location in downtown.
- It's an old hotel, we even can hear people talking at outside from our room.
“The parking policy is inconvenient. $1.5 for each 20 minutes and $15 for 1 night. However, we can't go in and out, if we buy the overnight ticket.”
