• Very friendly and helpful staff.
• Older interior, carpets, etc. needs remodel to get up to date.

“Overall a good experience with very helpful staff and okay Downtown location, and cab rides are only $6 to anywhere in Downtown area. Outdoor pool area is dated, but water was clean, cool and refreshing. Small park right across the street was great to take the kids for some exercise and play some catch. Older hotel with dated interior beyond the lobby, lower end "3 Star" but still solid choice for the price.”

• Staff was very nice.
• Nothing was open around the hotel. The shuttle only ran in the downtown area, and nothing was open downtown over the weekend.

“Room was fairly clean but nothing spectacular. If you want to just stay in the hotel, not bad. Nothing is open around the hotel on the weekends.”

• Parking is not free-valet service for 3 days $68.00-ouch!

• Excellent foam mattresses were a joy.
• Could have had a larger television set.

“Excellent facility with a friendly and accommodating staff. If there is a downside it is the mandatory use of valet parking. However, there was not an alternative in this part of Houston.”

• It was really close to Toyota Center which is where we needed to go.
• Valet only parking was $22.00 per night.

“We wanted a nice hotel close to the Toyota Center because we were going to a concert. The Crown Plaza was beautiful and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The free shuttle was awesome however, the hotel parking was valet only and $22.00 a night. Lucky for us, as we only stayed one night. Other than that, I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone staying overnight in downtown Houston.”

“The overall stay at the hotel was ok. This is not a 3 star hotel, about 2.5 star at best. No smoking rooms made it very inconvenient for smokers.”

• Sleep CD in room.
• Fitness rooms is very small, hotel is in need of a renovation.

“Sleep CD in room was very relaxing and the bed was okay; however all the other furniture and decorations in the room were very dated. Fitness room was very small and only had 2 elliptical machines and two treadmills; which were both out of order plus there were no free weights. In order to get to the fitness room you had to walk out of the hotel; which was not very convenient because it was raining. The next time we stay in downtown Houston we will probably choose another hotel.”

• Really comfortable beds! Have stayed in the same hotel several times over the last 5 years. Consistently good service and quality.
• Room service trays/dishes from rooms near our were not picked up even after 24 hours. All TV channels had some problems with fuzziness and audio.

“As always, this has been a great hotel for my needs. Rooms are extremely clean with some of the most comfortable beds I've ever stayed in. The location is great and close to highways although you need to ask for directions onto 59 South before you leave the building because the local signage isn't very helpful! I'm still very happy with this hotel for the price I paid.”

• To far from ice machine. Could be good?

“Got to the hotel late and was able to get anything I wanted on the full menu. Portions were large and well prepared. Two blocks from the passport office where I needed to go in the morning. The bed was great. We had a problem with my car and a gentleman at the desk recommended a repair shop 5 blocks from the hotel. In between stops at the passport office had breakfast at the hotel (excellent), and took the car in. After getting the passport, picked up the car and headed home (San Antonio) around 6 p.m. Would stay there any time.”

“The staff at the hotel was great. They allowed me to check in early and when another guest made a threat to my wife the management was quick to move us to another room and upgrade us to a mini suite. The staff turned an very bad experience into the best one that they could. I appreciated their efforts.”

• I especially liked the friendliness of the hotel employees and the accessibility of an ATM machine. The restaurant facility was open late for evening.
• Nothing that was out of order; it fit my expectations!

“I would say that this hotel was very accommodative. It offered all of the amenities that a guest would look for in a hotel when traveling. The accessibility to the underground restaurants on Monday was a plus, although this convenience is not offered on the weekend. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.”

“The hotel staff was very friendly. We were in Houston for a Concert. They had a shuttle to bring us and pick us up, which was a real plus. We hung out in the bar before the concert and enjoyed the friendly bartender and patrons. Room was really nice and the beds were so comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.”

• We did like the staff; friendly, polite and informative.
• We did not like the room and look of the floor.

“Our stay in Houston at the crown plaza was disappointing. We asked for a non-smoking king room and it smelt very smoky. There are other small details we were displeased with, but will not be staying there again in the future (or recommending it to family or friends).”

• The staff at check in and out very helpful also valet was very good with there service.
• Location not great, they gave me a ride to Astros game, but never received a ride home. Had to walk three miles.

• Great location - shuttle very handy - stayed for the aramaco 1/2 marathon - convenient to garb center.
• It wall all good.

• Even though the food was excellent at all meals, the service was a little slow.

“I felt we were placed in a less than desirable room when we requested a non-smoking room. We were told the only non-smoking room was a handicap room and it was right in the middle of the service area and was loud. ”

• Everything was fine except the parking charges of 20.00 per day.
• My car key was broken when I received my keys the next day to leave. No one spoke of replacement and it $300.00.

“Everything was fine except the parking charge, but they left my car unlock the first evening, and then they broke my key to the car which now costs$300.00 for replacement so I am not very happy right now, and I was in a hurry to catch a friend to the airport. So I did not speak to the manager, but I am planning on calling the hotel.”

• Old and dated.

“On arrival I was told no non smoking rooms were available, despite having requested one at time of booking. Only room she could offer me was a disabled room on 6th floor. In first 5 mines of being in room discovered a huge dead cockroach on the floor! Reception called and requested a new, clean room; again ended up in another disabled room on 10th floor. Everything in room was tired and old looking, 2 double beds, with temper-predict mattresses, soft and spongy to sleep on, did not enjoy at all. Old cellular blanket was almost threadbare. TV tucked into cabinet, was hard to view from bed. Bathroom being for disabled guest, was very clinical, hospital like, no tub and strange shower arrangement which flooded the entire bathroom floor when shower was used, thus making it sloppy and dangerous afterwards. Really could not wait to check out! So many other better choices in Houston I certainly would not return to stay at this hotel.”
