• Comfortable beds and pillows.
• Free shuttle did not go far enough for us.

“Very comfortable hotel with interesting rooms, very comfortable beds, and everything in good condition. Common areas were very comfortable for hanging out with family and friends. Free shuttle gets you anywhere within a 2 mile radius, at request whenever you need it. Parking garage is reasonable but with no in-and-out privileges, it can quickly get expensive if you so sightseeing.”

• Staff was nice.

“Room was just okay. No mini bar. Went on December 27th & nothing adjacent the hotel was open. Bathroom tub and shower had hairs in it.
Nothing to do within walking distance although the hotel did have a shuttle that would take you within 2 miles of the hotel & pick you up which helped.”

• I liked that they had comfortable beds and bedding and that they used bath and body works products.
• I did not like the price to park. It was $21.95 per night to park.

• I liked the comfortable bed.
• I did not like that the parking options.

“The hotel was nice. A lot of the amenities that I have come to enjoy at other Marriott chain hotels were not offered at this hotel. I usually stay at Springhill Suites because it offers parking, extra sleep area, fridge, microwave, and breakfast. This hotel was limited in this area.”

• The king size bed was very comfortable and the down cover and pillows was a big plus.
• First place I stayed that I can't find a thing I didn't like.

“I highly recommend this hotel for business and leisure. Room was a 5 star room and staff 5 star too. Parking due to location costs extra but worth it.”

• Great customer service.
• Not family friendly- charged for everything (internet, newspaper).

“This is a great place for business travelers, but not for family with young children. Children could not touch anything in lobby (employee actually got on to them for being too close to an art piece that was the size of the lobby area). Also, there was a charge for everything that was left in the room (example, bottles of water were left in room with a sign that said $4.00 will be added to your bill if you consume this and newspaper delivered to door but $0.75 will be added to your account). Had to pay for internet services- even Motel 6 has free internet service. Would not stay again with my family.”

• The shuttle service was great.
• Hard to get in to with all the construction outside.

“We were visiting my father in-law in the hospital and it was very convenient. Also it was my wife and her twin sisters birthday and the staff was very helpful in making it a wonderful experience for them.”

• It's in a perfect location and has added a Starbucks in the lobby.
• They are undergoing renovations, so a few things were a bit inconvenient.

• The staff was extremely courteous and professional.
• The parking is in an adjoining garage that is scary at night.

“The lady who checked me in was super pleasant and professional. The room was very quiet, and comfortable. The metro rail was located outside the front door.”

• Nice room!
• Checked in at 4:30 and left at 7:30 went to another hotel. Did not feel safe do to construction and being a single girl.

“It was the most horrible drive in to it and location. Being a single female Would not ever recommend or go back. Check in around 4:30 p.m. and left and went and stayed with a friend of mine at 7:30 p.m. So within 3 hrs I left. I never even brought my clothes in because I did not like how it was set up. You leave your items then you go park and then come back. Had to park on the 5th floor of the garage and find my way the the horrible maze. Nice room and hotel. But gain not for female! Would never recommend.”

• It is close to downtown & public transportation.
• There was something very sticky on the floor, about 2ft. square just inside door.

“Remodeling was going on. There was no gift shop available. Parking is either 19.95/day valet or self parking/pay as you go. Room was fairly nice. Quiet atmosphere.”

• Close to rail line and Starbucks!
• No direct entrance from street.

“Outstanding location for medical needs. Great location for other things. Rail station just outside door provides inexpensive transportation for you to Reliant Park, the zoo, parks, and museums. There is a shuttle provided to take you to other medical facilities in the area. We went to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and the hotel was perfect for our needs. We just left our car in the adjacent parking garage and used the comfortable public transportation.”

“The overall stay was nice; the only downfall was that there is no parking available except for the parking garage that is not run by Marriott. So each time we left the hotel the charge was between 4 and 8 dollars.”

• The star rating for the price.
• The paid parking with no in an out privileges, I was very disappointed to here this!

“I hotel was overall great. The lobby area did make you feel like you were underground which was weird. And the fact the hotel shared parking with the hospital and they make their guest pay every time they leave the parking lot was very bad, it almost ruined our trip, it was that bad.”

• The room was nice.
• The whole lobby area of the hotel was under construction.

“The whole first couple of levels of the hotel are completely blocked off and under construction. There was no restaurant due to this and we were forced to use a small back entrance to enter and leave the hotel. There was only one small concierge desk near this back entrance for check/in and service. Luckily I was only staying for one night and was not in the hotel often. If I had booked this hotel for a vacation with my family I would have been extremely upset about the condition of the hotel and the level of construction that was going on. This was a major renovation that greatly affected the access and features of the hotel. It would have been nice to have been warned of this prior to booking.”

“The rooms were nice but small. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was very nice and accommodating. It was hard to find the entrance and finding the parking entrance was not intuitive.”

• Parking is kind of a pain if you don't valet.

“Overall I was very pleased with our experience. But the hotel staff was very friendly, did not give us any problems and found us a king sized bed upon request. Very clean and extremely nice hotel for the price. I would go back.”

• I liked the beds, the rooms were clean, and the pool area was also clean.
• Well I think you guys should have a heater on your pool it was cold.

• They provided a shuttle service to the immediate surrounding area at no charge.
• It was not within walking distance to anything of interest. It was also in the medical district and had many ill occupants people staying there.

“The Marriott Houston medical center had fairly good service and a friendly staff. Anyone looking for a leisurely visit to Houston should seek a hotel with a better location though. This location was not close enough to any interesting areas of town, and was in fact smack dab in the middle of several hospitals.”

• Parking is too expensive. Internet usage is also unreasonably expensive.

“We stayed here twice for a total of ten nights. We chose this location because of its easy proximity to the medical center. The hotel was clean, quiet and friendly.”

• Restaurants didn't open until 0630-need earlier in Houston-traffic.

“Hotel was as expected for Marriott, clean, great beds and linens. The location is great for anyone needing access to the hospitals. Being in Houston & at medical center, one needs to have access to breakfast by 0530 or 0600 in order to travel in Houston traffic and arrive by 0800. The staff I encountered, other than the late night waitress in the Fannin Sports Bar, was rude and appeared to be bothered by my presence and requests for them to perform their hired jobs.”

• Ice machine and coke machine was not working. Breakfast buffet was too expensive.

“As a whole the hotel was well worth the money spent. However, the price for drinks and food were over priced. I do plan to stay at this hotel once again in the future. Only for the same rate as before.”

• Beds were great - comfy, well appointed.
• Elevators were miserable - slow with most out of service.

“Hotel was okay, focused on Medical stays. Elevators were an ongoing problem; only one of the 4 passenger elevators worked (took 21 minutes to get an elevator to check out) and the elevators from the garage were scary - dark, in a corner, and filthy. Not a good first impression of the hotel.”

• Smells funny, cold showers, and parking is a hassle.

“This hotel is great based simply on the location. It is right in the middle of the medical center. However, parking at this hotel is really bad. They should have complimentary guest parking, but it is currently $9. The rooms are pretty nice, but the TV is just sitting on a dresser rather than being inside an armoire, which does make the TV seem out of place in the room. Bathrooms are updated, although one of the nights I was there I only got cold water. It also smells kind a funny in the public areas which was a turn off. Overall this hotel was good based on its great location, but it could have been much better.”

• The convenient location to the Metro rail.
• The internet service was very expensive.

“The room was nice, a bit small, but a great location for my purposes. However, the internet service was a little on the expensive side ($3.50 for 10 minutes or $9.95 a day). I only needed the check one e-mail, so it was a little outrageous for me. Even the business center internet access was this cost. Most 3-star and above hotels have free internet service.”
