  • View of Downtown Houston was nice.
  • TV had no sound, remodeling on the next floor up awoke us at 7am.

“Our room was nice, but there was an incredible amount of noise at 7am until we left. Clearly they were remodeling the floor above us. It was a weekend getaway with my wife and we'd hoped to sleep in.
We ordered a pay-per-view movie - but there was no sound. The hotel was courteous to refund the charge, but was unable to resolve the problem.”

    AC did not function properly.

“The location of the hotel was great, that would almost make me want to stay there again. The hotel was probably a 4 star hotel in the '80s but no any longer. We parked in the parking garage and it would take forever for the elevator to get to us because only one was working at the time. When you stay at an upscale place you expect a flat panel TV or at least one that worked correctly. We had to call the concierge multiple times because the remote would not work and the screen was horrible, we purchased a $10.75 movie in the room and had to watch it with everything on the screen being just different shades of green and could not get to the menu to change it. There is a thermostat in the room, but it did not function properly and we also called the concierge multiple times about that. No one ever came to fix it and my husband and I had to sleep uncomfortably hot both nights, and this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, the Holiday Inn would have been much better.”

  • Location - 10 minutes from conference.
  • Mattress, backache. After two nights I was desperate for some sleep!

“The location is superb with LOTS of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. The hotel is clean, personnel are courteous, and amenities are upscale. I personally found the mattress to be so uncomfortable that I could not sleep through the night and awoke several times with a backache. My daughter, however, did not have a problem sleeping.”

  • The service by the employees were friendly and helpful.
  • Parking is an extra $16 and the internet usage is an extra $12.

“The hotel is clean and well-decorated. The employees are friendly and helpful. However, parking is too steep at $16 for an overnight spot. In addition, I feel like the hotel is nickel and diming the guests by charging for internet usage.”

  • The rooms were nice.
  • Parking was $16 for visitors, 20 for over night. Had to pay mini $8.00 to park just for breakfast.

  • Lobby bar is soooo small, TV's are sooo small.

  • The hotel had wonderful ambiance. The room was comfortable.
  • The parking charges were atrociously high.

“The room was good and room service was great. But they start knocking your door early morning 8 to stock the mini fridge and then for room service which is annoying. The parking was pure highway robbery with $16 a night. Overall it’s not a value for money at all.”

  • The entire staff was friendly during our entire stay.
  • Breakfast in restaurant was not high quality. The French toast was dried out. I was also overcharged, but this was fixed in a timely manner.

  • Entire hotel had a musty smell. The staff at the entrance (valet parking).

“Overall, this was an OK stay. My biggest complaint is that the hotel smelled a bit musty - like feet. This was true in the public areas and in our room. The valet staff were less than friendly when we told them that we were self parking. They gave my husband a hard time while he was waiting in the truck for me to check in. Sure it's a big truck and takes up a lot of space, but the hotel was not busy at the time. The beds were not anything special - you could hear the springs squeak whenever you turned over. I'm sure this hotel has the right list of amenities - but it could use a refurbishing to bring it in line with what most four star hotels offer.”

  • Bathroom had mold, breakfast was poor quality and over priced, room was small and dirty.

“I hope this is for the Intercontinental I really did not have a great experience at this hotel and a number of guest were leaving and going to other hotels. I will say that the staff was extremely professional and helpful.”

  • Staff treated us as well as those guests who paid full price.

“We are locals who needed a place to stay because the air conditioning in our home broke down. It was so relieving to be able to stay in such a wonderful hotel for a fraction of the cost because of Priceline. Excellent accommodations and excellent staff with amenities for everyone.”

  • Looked Good. Facilities are Good. Good location.
  • Linens were not clean. Bath tub was bad and didn't drain.

“The pillow covers were not clean. The bath tub was draining dead slow. It was very uncomfortable to take bath. Unfortunately, i checked in late and didn't notice it until morning. when I mentioned the problem to the staff while checking out, he just wrote it down as if it is common here.”

  • Loved the comfortable bed with lots of pillows and the quiet air conditioner.
  • Having to pay $16/day to park. No room in mini-bar for our stuff.

“We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was friendly. We really loved the comfortable bed and the quiet AC. Tons of comfy pillows and a down comforter. My husband slept well, which he usually doesn't in hotels. Easy access to roads to get around Houston. The parking is expensive and it's a bit of a schlep to the garage (down one elevator to the lobby, then up another to the garage, where we had to park on the 3rd floor and above) which could be a pain with kids.”

  • I could hear people going by my room to the workout room so I would recommend better sound proofing.

  • Bath toiletries were great, front desk staff very attentive.
  • Self-parking $16/day, but that is typical for this area.

“We called ahead to try to request a king room (it was our anniversary), but the staff member said that was not possible. We did request it again at check-in, and the staff member was very attentive providing us a king room, and also gave us two free drink vouchers to be used at the bar. Overall a great experience.”

“The fire alarm went off starting at 2 am in the morning. We were on the 16th floor. As soon as we were given the all clear and back in our rooms it went off again. It went off a total of 4 times!”

  • Pretty lobby.
  • Parking 16 for garage! No vending machine. Hairs all in the bed.

“Parking was $16 for self parking in a garage, and there were no vending machines, not even for a soda. But you can buy one from your mini bar for $4, not even cold. Also, hairs all in the bed, which weren't comfortable. This is something I can't stand, when there are hairs everywhere in the bathroom. Also, my towel had a brown stain on it.”
