• They had plenty of hot water.
• Dirty, smelly rooms, loose fixtures and ceiling was crumbling.

“Room was dirty, carpet unraveling, loose bathroom fixtures, large mounds of lent in corners, maid came into room without knocking, bathroom ceiling crumbling and falling on floor.”

• The parking lot was gated for safety. We used our room card to enter.
• The walls were thin. We could clearly hear the conversations and
  TV from the rooms on either side of us.

• Location.
• Staff was unhelpful; room did not have adequate information on local area and staff would not provide it.

“We came-in late and wanted a list of restaurants that delivered to the hotel. Staff said it would be in the room. It was not; called down for more info on take outs, delivery or close by places to go and staff would not help. Cranky hungry kids and had to go out again to hunt for food at night in an unfamiliar area.”

“Pretty much what you expect from a Holiday Inn. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness, ease of parking, and quality of hotel staff. I have been in Holiday Inns that were definitely a lot worse.”

• Great location for the area I wanted to visit.
• This hotel has courtyard rooms which give you a motel experience.

“The best thing this hotel has for it is location. If you want to stay near the Galleria area, you have made the right choice. The staff was friendly and accommodating when I asked them that I wanted a non-smoking King. Unfortunately, the only non-smoking Kings were located in what they term as in their courtyard area. This sounded wonderful until I went to the room and realized courtyard was another word for motel-like. The main part of the hotel is nice and what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. With its carpeted outdoor hallways, the courtyard felt like a throw back to a 70's motel. We were on the second floor which has no elevator. The A/C units are on the wall that share the outside carpeted walkway and had looked like they had at one time or another leaked because the carpet around them looked stained. All in all I liked the location, the staff, the free parking and would have probably enjoyed the main part of the hotel if they had had a non-smoking King available at the time of my check in. Feel free to choose this hotel but be Leary of staying in the "Courtyard" rooms!”

• Price is approx. 1/2 of hotels on Galleria side of Hwy.610.
• No elevator to second floor.

“Location on highway and condition of exterior hallways gives poor first impression. However, the room was very clean and comfortable. Air conditioner was somewhat noisy. The staff was very nice.”

• Honesty, efficiency, friendliness, kindness, good disposition, and attentiveness of the hotel staff.
• Despite the excellent security and trustfulness of the staff, a safety box in the room could be handy.

• This hotel was worth the price. The rooms were nice and very comfortable.
• The hot tub was cold. It was hard getting on and off the interstate to the hotel.

• They moved me when the noise was too loud from the interstate.
• Noise from interstate on the outside rooms.

“This hotel was in great proximity to the Memorial Park area, which is what we needed. The staff was kind and moved us after we complained about the noise from the interstate on the outside room. We were moved across the hall to an inside room and it was much better. We asked for a late check out due to a late tennis match that we were trying to get back from and they said that they were going to charge us for being 30 minutes late even though the housekeeper was in our room when we got our stuff out. We were able to get that taken care of with the manager and they called to let us know which was nice. Didnt sleep at all the first night though. Try not to get a room facing the highway.”

“This hotel is nice. I rate the rooms inside the main building much higher than the outdoor/pool side rooms in cleanliness, safety, and overall comfort. But I guess it's luck of the draw as to which room you get.”

• I did like the comfort of the bed with plenty of pillows.
• I did not like the stains that were on the carpet in the vanity area.

“I am letting my wife complete this survey. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was friendly but in training so they could not answer some of our questions and I can understand that. The hotel was clean except the stains as I noted earlier. It was not in a good location when you use Map quest :-). Overall the stay was good and served the purpose we needed - a good night rest after our game.”

• Internet service was "broken". Hotel was not clean. It's a stretch to call it a "Galleria Area" hotel.

“Had this been a trip with my family I would not have stayed at this hotel. The location felt unsafe. There was a funky smell in the hotel. The lifts felt unreliable.”

• The marble flooring in the lobby.
• The room and outdoor hallways were awful. The outdoor hallways smelled like gas.

“It was awful the room smelled. The carpet was old and musty. The mattress was cheap. It literally was the quality of an old motel six. The bathroom was small. No real closet. Smelly, old, outdoor hallway carpets.”

• The staff was very helpful with getting me proper directions to my meeting.
• The hotel itself is nice, but the area around it does not look nearly as good as the rest of it.

“I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very friendly, taking the extra time to ensure I knew how to make it to my meeting. I had gotten lost when I tried to find it myself. They also gave me a key to get into the business room right after I had left my key in the room to check out. Free parking is also a plus. The downside to the hotel was the surrounding area. It did not look particularly nice, though the hotel is surrounded by a fence. Sometimes at night I felt a little uneasy though.”

• Rooms in the newer part are quite and have excellent beds.
• Interstate highway noise in the older part of the hotel can be heard.

“The first night we were in the older part of the hotel and in earshot of the interstate. We asked for a room in the newer part with a view of the pool area which was facing away from the highway. It was great for the next four nights.”

“I have stayed at this hotel before and was quite unhappy with the staff all three times. I believe they are for the most part inexperienced at running a 3 star hotel. The first time the staff had entered my room while I was gone and the do not disturb sign was out. The second time the night management was rude. This third time they cleared my room even though I had requested and was granted a late check-out. They do not give the welcome gift to priority club members per the priority club outline. I truly avoid this hotel and tell others to do so as well.”

• Wireless wasn't working, neither were the computers in the biz center, hard to get to.

“This is an economy hotel trying to be a 2 or more star hotel, the hotel only has 6 floors and the elevators take forever to go up 2 or more floors. The staff is great but it's difficult to get to and the first room I got on the non-smoking floor reeked of cigar smoke. I had to change rooms. They had no king non-smoking.”

• Comfortable beds, printer in business center.
• Furniture was old. Many rooms very noisy since near expressway.

“This hotel is partially renovated. The beds are great, but the desk and dresser are old. Carpeting is old too. The business center was good, although sometimes I had problems with the printer and computers. The worst thing about this hotel is the location. It is right off a very busy expressway. I complained and got a quiet room, but many are noisy.”

• Sink backed up repeatedly, even after service was logged, and engineer came. Internet service was spotty, at best.

“My room had a sink that kept backing up (black stuff), and my colleague had AC problems. They should have offered a credit because they were booked up and we couldn't change rooms. However, the staff was as helpful as possible. They have to function with really slow computers. Restaurant staff very friendly.”

• The hotel felt like a flea bag old run down place.

“When we first arrived, we tried to get into our room for 5 minutes the door handle was loose and the door would not open. I called the front desk that sent up an "engineer" he messed with the door for 5 minutes then said he would have to send the next engineer from the next shift to the room because the next guy was a door expert, and he may have to switch the handle out. I explained to him we had to be somewhere in an hour and 1/2 and did' have time to wait for shift change and a door handle change, I called the front desk and the only choice was to move us to a smoking room, there were no other options. The smoking room of course reeked. I will never stay at this place again it was a poor excuse for a hotel.”

• Phone didn't work porn under bed, brown water in shower.

“When I got there, they gave me and outside entrance handicap room and told me everything was full. The lights were already on in the room when I got there. There was screw on the floor that I immediately stepped on. When calling for a wake up call I discovered the phone didn't work. The next morning as I turned on the shower, the water came out brown for several minutes. This indicated to me the room had not been used for business use in a long period of time. When packing my suitcase, I dropped something under the bed. When I went to get it, there was a stack of porn under the bed as well. Obviously the room was used by staff for other things. When I reported it to the manager upon check out, she indicated they could not issue a refund for the room. She offered me a free room on my next visit to the galleria.”

“Great place. I was on foot about 4 miles from hotel but the hotel wouldn't send shuttle more than 2 miles. Couldn't get them to bend the rules, pity. Review could have been 10/10.”
