• Nice, clean, big rooms.
• The noise level throughout the night was loud!

• Its location.
• There is an outrageous charge of $14.00 per day for self parking.

“There is a hidden cost of $14.00 per day for self parking. This was not mentioned when we booked the room. Our room was located in a bad section of the hotel directly across from a hall used for business meetings and other group gatherings. Very noisy and lots of foot traffic and service tables just outside the door leading to the room.”

• It was nice and clean.
• There was a loud group by our room that kept us up all night.

“ There was some loud group, I think a wedding had been at the hotel, so a group at formed at the pool, so they sat around the pool and talked loudly and laughed from 1 till 5 in the morning so we didn't get any sleep. We couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from, so we didn't know who to tell the front desk to go look at, it wasn't until the morning when we figured it out. It wasn't a good night. ”

• Your first impression of a hotel is always the lobby. When I saw it, I knew we'd like it immediately.
• No complaints.

“I was very excited to get such a great hotel for such a steal of a price. Little things matter to us, like extra pillows, comfortable beds, roomy bathrooms. This hotel provided all of those and more. It was walking distance from the Galleria and several restaurants. The lobby was beautifully decorated and the staff was overly accommodating.”

• The location, cleanliness and staff friendliness were perfect for a leisurely weekend.
• Fees for using the computers, printers, etc. in the Business Center.

• Friendly, attentive staff.
• Very expensive valet, room needed updating.

“The hotel public spaces were very nice; the staff was very attentive and friendly. The valet was convenient, but way over priced $25/day is ridiculously expensive. The room we had really needs some attention and/or updating. For example, large dings in wood furniture, cover missing from center button on ottoman and the TV wasn't a flat panel - we were quite surprised that a room on the Hilton Honors floor hadn't been updated with a flat panel TV.”

• The location of the room was pool side. The location of the hotel was uptown.
• There was mold in the shower.

“Excellent location. Lots of shopping, dining, etc. Area is aesthetically pleasing. However, there was mold in the shower, they have not upgraded to HD TV's, and the parking was expensive.”

• I requested two beds and a room near the pool. Every request I made was met and exceeded my expectations.
• Wasn't impressed with the food at the casual restaurant. But dining in the area is excellent.

• Recent renovations dust off this I.M. Pei-designed hotel.
• Parking - your only real choice is the hotel garage.

“The hotel was bustling when we arrived late in the afternoon, but the front desk staff handled the crowd efficiently; we were checked in by the reservations manager himself, who jumped in to keep things moving. It was a pleasure to stay at this smart I.M. Pei-designed hotel, which is aging gracefully enough. Recent renovations to the large, comfortable rooms and rest of the hotel resulted in a nice update while preserving the overall aesthetic of the hotel. Our high-floor room overlooking the nearby interstate was somewhat noisy (white noise of the traffic) until we closed the thick curtains at night - next time I believe I would request a Western exposure, even though we were told at check in that our view was the more desirable one. Oddly, our room's only chair was the uncomfortable one at the desk - especially odd given the size of our spacious room. Although our room was an efficient box overall, it had some nice design touches, including a handsome recently - updated vanity separate from the tub and toilet. Several outlets for your high - tech gadgets, including a clock radio with a dock for my iPod. Bedding (new, I think) is excellent. Although the valets are extremely friendly and welcoming, your only choice is to use them or park your car yourself for a little less - and at this location, unless you are visiting a nearby office, you will want to have a car. Houston Galleria is down the street, but a 15 minute walk and I don't care to spend 30 minutes round trip in Houston humidity if I can help it - so you'll want to use your car, especially since parking is free at the Galleria. I didn't use the dining facilities while we were at the hotel because there are so many nearby alternatives, so can't comment on them, although they didn't seem remarkable.”

• Rooms needed painting/maintenance repairs. Self parking 14.00 $
  a day.

“The hotel needed maintenance work. The carpets in all areas needed cleaning, our bathroom needed painting, the shower drain was plugged up, needed maintenance, and the first desk clerk was quick to point out that we booked when questioned about the $25 a day valet parking and the $14 a day self parking at the hotel.”

“The hotel is a nice Hilton with amenities that parallels most other 3.5 star hotels. It has a great location in the galleria area and tremendously clean rooms. I had to pay for parking which was a pain and any services that I used while staying there.”

• I liked the assistance with my luggage to my room and set up. The atmosphere was very calming.
• I was traveling alone and no one was available to pick up my bags for me to leave. Bath tub not clean.

“The hotel tries to make money by making the guest pay for everything which considered free at other place including internet, additional labor fee for bring food to the room (beside the food cost and tips), poor quality of foods (its expensive chicken wings were worse than fast food wings), etc.”

• The hotel had a great view and lavish lobby.
• The room looked and felt cheap. Poorly lighted and they charged me for parking.

“Maybe if they spent less money on the lobby and more money in the rooms it would make the place. The room had narrow and very cheap looking shower and the TV looking as if it was made in 1990. I was extremely disappointed in my experience.”

• Great location, check-in was extremely fast!
• Garage ticket did not work the first time, had to get a new one.

“Older hotel that has had a lot of renovations. Rooms were very clean and freshly painted. The bathroom shower needed a face lift, older peach colored tiles, but very clean. Bedding and furniture were nice and new. Hotel lobby is nice and spacious. Lots of elevators, never had to wait more than about 20 seconds.”

• Luxury, the room was very big and the bathroom area was also big with a walk in closet great for females.

“We arrived about 8pm and were met at the registration desk by a smiling, cheerful lady. I received a room on the 2 floor,
we enjoyed access to the pool area from our room. We enjoyed a nice view of the galleria area from our room. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Extremely friendly hotel and would enjoy returning to this hotel.”

“Everything was fine there. I have stayed there in the past. The restaurant is very overpriced even for a better economy. The menu was also very limited. Small gym there but you can get free passes to walk across the street for a full somewhat decent gym.”
