• Lots of broken things, blinds, shower heads, AC, noise.

“Had to be moved to another room when the air started blowing heat at 2am. Both rooms had various broken things shower head, lights, window bind. Both rooms were very noisy.”

• Close parking.

“I have stayed at this hotel over the years. It is no longer a 4 star hotel. It is run down and dated, needs a facelift.”

• The rooms were a generous size. The beds and pillows were extraordinary. The staff was attentive. Nothing I disliked.
• One chair in the room was uncomfortable.

• The galleria was attached.

“I was treated very well as I checked in but, as I got to my room the ice machine was broken and had been for sometime. I did enjoy leaving the hotel to go shopping in the galleria that was the best part of being in Houston.”

• It was close to where my conference was being held.
• They did not have a shuttle service, nor did they have free internet in the rooms.

“Good location attached to the Galleria mall and close to many amenities. Unfortunately there was no shuttle which would have really helped me out and saved me a lot. Also the there was no free internet access in the room. I had to pay $10/day.”

• Westin bed is the most comfortable anywhere!
• Hard to find breakfast restaurant - it's somewhere out in the adjacent mall.

“The Westin Galleria has been around for a while, and has to compete with newer hotels, but the rooms are still among the best in Houston, the Westin bed is incredibly comfortable, and the staff is diligent, friendly. It's clean and lovely, the location is excellent - connected to the Galleria Mall, easy parking. I've stayed there often and will certainly stay there again.”

• The location was great.
• The service, the room and
  the room temperature.

“Upon my arrival the valet took a very long time to get to me. As I got out of my car with my 5 bags in tow I was not assisted. There was free WiFi only in the lobby and you had to pay for WiFi in your room. Not that the fee is great but it is the principal that this is a high end hotel in downtown Houston. As a business traveler this is a thorn in my side. The room had comfortable beds and a great TV but the paint was chipping of the walls and the bathroom was gross.”

• Comfortable beds, great balcony view.
• Parking shared with millions of people going to the mall.

“Very comfortable stay in a large room with a great bed and great balcony view. We came for a short anniversary weekend without the kids and wanted what we never get - sleep a movie at a theater, and great food. We got the sleep and the food at the Oceanside was amazing. We had to settle for TV since the movie theater was a drive and we didn't want to fight the parking with the mall crowds.”

• That it is in the galleria area.
• Paper thin walls, loud guests, not easily found with GPS.

“The hotel is very nice, looks great, comfortable room. But we could hear every word from the rooms next to us. The walls were paper thin. We asked the front desk to do something about extra noisy neighbors and instead of taking care of the problem, they proceeded to call our room three times after midnight only to say, I just wanted to let you know we are going to take care of the problem. We were trying to sleep but could not because we heard every word out of the next room and were getting annoying calls from the front desk.”

• Location and the most comfortable bed.
• Paying for internet that didn't work and stale soda in mini bar.

“VERY impressive. Would stay here again. Paying for internet access at this star level isn't impressive though. A hotel of this league should offer Wi-Fi. Confusing parking, so I had to park valet but they messed with my lights and left them on when they turn off automatically. VERY annoying, but great stay.”

• Great location inside the galleria mall.
• The room was not clean and was dated.

“I was disappointed with my room, did not meet the 4 star level. The carpet had many stains, the ceiling over the shower had black mold, rust stains on the tile in the bathroom and light fixtures were missing. The bed was comfortable and the location inside the galleria mall was great.”

• Perfect for the business traveler and the location was excellent.
• Knowing where to park was confusing if not using valet.

“The Westin galleria met all of my expectations on this business trip. Having direct connection with the galleria mall allowed me to relieve a little stress by strolling through the mall area. When back in my room, it was quiet and a great view of the city to get all of my work done.”

“They assigned me to a room that had not been cleaned. The new room lacked a TV remote control, which was rectified in a reasonable amount of time, however, the bathroom had mold and mildew on the ceiling. The room ceilings are the old popcorn type. No fitness center on site - they charge you $12.99 to use the adjacent Westin Oaks hotel fitness center - bad.”

• Great location & amenities, rooms are very comfortable
• The elevators need work: the doors stick open and it feels like the cable slips sometimes.

“Very nice Westin in a great location. The staff is always friendly, room service is great. Work areas in the rooms are comfortable. I do wish broadband internet was included in the room price. I believe a 4-star hotel should include this as a base item, just like cable TV.”

• Location and ease of parking, Heavenly beds!

“Although the staff was pleasant and helpful, the lobby in general does not present itself as a four star hotel. Starwood does have the best beds available in hotels today. Knowing that, I know that I will sleep well which is not always possible when traveling. Room service failed to send me all that I ordered; that was disappointing. ”

• Only had a handicapped room with 2 queens. No nonsmoking kings available.

“Very nice, if unspectacular, hotel attached to the Galleria Mall in Houston. All rooms have balconies. Bedding and beds are quite comfortable. Concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable. Free self parking.”

“This is a wonderful place to stay. It is attached to a mall that you could shop in for at least 2 days, with great stores. The staff was very courteous. The room were great and the bed is just to die for!”

• Outstanding location - attached to the galleria!
• No complaints.

“The Westin Galleria is a true 4 Star Hotel attached to Houston's Best Shopping Area -- The Galleria. Rooms have a balcony, some of the best beds in the industry, and dual-head showers. The work area is a business person's dream -- high speed internet with an ample desk and plenty of room to move around. I whole-heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“Houston Business travellers and shoppers rejoice, the Westin Galleria is the best of both worlds. Close to all the main highways and world class shopping, what more could you ask for??? Then again there is the Westin service, second to none.”
