• Location and how clean the rooms were.
• bath door did not close, outside area was dirty.

“Overall the hotel is OK, can tell it is very old. Rooms were very clean, but small things were outdated, plugs, fixtures, etc. Bath door would not close, creating a privacy issue when using. Good one night stay, but would not like to stay for multiple nights.”

• Honestly, nothing.
• The beds were absolutely horrible.

“I have used Priceline many times for my travel needs and this is the first time I ever been disappointed on my experience based upon the price I paid for the room. The beds and pillows were so lumpy and uncomfortable that I was unable to get any sleep in them. I would not use this hotel again and I would be scared to bid on a hotel room for College Station for fear of getting this hotel again.”

“The desk staff was not helpful. I went through 3 TV remotes before finding one that worked. My room had an ironing board but no iron. I requested an iron twice and it never arrived. My room had a coffee maker but in the morning I learned there was no coffee packets in the room. This hotel was not run well.”

• Proximity to texas & university.
• There were dead insects everywhere, beds uncomfortable, room smelled, and a number of other things.

“The only good thing is that it was close to the university. There were dead insects all over the room, the beds were uncomfortable and the room smelled bad,
I could probably think of some other things to say about it if i took the time. Overall, it was a terrible room and
I won't stay there again.”

• Bathroom was not clean and floor not vacuum not a very good smell and water always dripping outside from the roofs even when it was not raining.

• I was very disappointed in that they were overbooked that weekend.
• I had to sleep in a smoking room.

“It was room 423. When I checked in Saturday. I had a smoking room and there were no other rooms available. I woke up the next morning with congestion in my chest and didn't sleep well that night.”

• Close to the university, easy to find.
• Rooms were very small. Staff gave us a key to someone else's room.

“This hotel was not 2 star quality. When my husband checked in, he was given a key to a room that was already occupied. It might be something that could be laughed off, but when he went back to the lobby to tell them of the situation, he was one of four other travelers who'd been given keys to occupied rooms. Not something that makes you feel all that safe! As a woman, I would not feel safe staying here alone. It's not in a bad neighborhood, but knowing that someone could possibly enter my room with a key given to them by hotel employees is a little disconcerting.”

• I liked the location.

“The hotel felt dirty when we entered the room, and the shower curtain was covered in mold. The breakfast ended at nine o'clock, which is a little early for people on vacation. I will not stay at this hotel again.”

“I've used it before and always had great results. This hotel however was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The room wasn't clean, the service was horrible, and everything was in poor condition, and my girlfriend and I felt unsafe there.”

“The room itself was clean but with 2 young children (3 and 5 years old grandkids) we came back to the room early to watch a movie and the movie was broken. There were also a team of high school boys playing football in the courtyard until midnight making noise.”

• Room was by the maid's center, so it was very noisy beginning at 6 am.

“Very convenient to Texas A & M campus. Back side of the hotel has terrible view and is noisy due to maid's service center. Continental breakfast ends at 9 am, too early for leisure travelers.”

• Good housekeeping routines were evident and rooms had been renovated and updated appropriately for a motel that was obviously more than 25 years old.
• Microwave did not function normally. Only a skeleton selection of cable stations was available on the TV. Non smoking next to smoking bad smoke PO.

Non smoking rooms were intermingled next to smoking rooms and when someone smoked in a smoking room adjacent to a non smoking room the smoke pollution in the non smoking room would be as bad as it would be if one were sitting next to a smoker on a bus. Apparently, the hotel does not make it clear to guests in non smoking rooms that there could be a penalty for smoking in a non smoking room. One result was that the smoking ban in a non smoking room was violated by some guests next door to me at between 4 and 5:30 am. This disturbed my sleep by triggering allergic reactions. When I reported this to management in the morning and also noted that segregating non smoking and smoking rooms and limiting smoking to only certain parts of the hotel. It was clear that the manager was personally concerned but that there was no policy and no inclination to create policy to safeguard a smoke free environment.”

• The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.

“This was a great hotel for the kind of trip we took. We were moving our daughter into the college dorm so we just needing a place to sleep and cool off. I don't think I'd stay for an extended stay. The beds were too hard. But it was just what we needed at the time.”

“The toilet did not flush, the mattress was really bad. The room was dirty. The staff did not know what to do when someone pulled the fire alarm in them middle of the night. Doors that should be locked after hours were not. Overnight staff was clueless, untrained.”

• Continental Breakfast was above average. We liked the fruit and Waffles.
• Hotel manager not friendly and inflexible.

“We requested a refrigerator and microwave when checking in. They did not bother to look if they had one available, but put us in a room in the farthest back of the motel. There were about 40 adults congregated in the parking lot drinking and more still coming. We asked to move to a quieter place which they did, but moved us in an extremely smoke smelling room and again did not bother to look for a refrigerator or microwave. We did not have enough towels the second day, and when we asked to check out 30 minutes late because we would not be finished with a tennis tournament until 12:00, the manager said "no, she had too many checking out." This hardly made sense "if she had too many checking out," later should have made it easier for them. The last time I stayed at this hotel, the room was extremely dirty, the carpet torn and very soiled. ”

“I have stayed in la Quinta many times all over the southwest. I was charged at least twice what this room is worth. The place is out of date, the carpet was Nasty and the rooms have small bathrooms that are in bad shape. An average motel 6 is a better room if that is any indication. ”

“The rooms were clean and comfortable. Their outdoor pool was a bit dirty, but as it was winter time I did not use the pool. Their breakfast can be improved. They have packaged food mostly and not fresh hot food. They do have a waffle maker and dough for making fresh Texas-shaped waffles. Therefore, my diet in the morning consisted of mostly waffles.”

“Stayed at a great rate, great location! During the night Fire Ants visited our room, when telling front desk at check out, she could care less. Didn't make any comment of concern or anything. They were in the bed and all in the carpet. Not La Quinta's fault, but a little sympathy and show of concern would have been appreciated!”

“The hotel was good if you don't have high expectations. There was nothing special. I think the rating was too high and would never pay full price. Otherwise, I could have found a better hotel at a cheaper price.”
