• Price & free parking.
• Too noisy. No continental breakfast.

“Priceline price was good. Our room was nice but the walls are way too thin. We could hear every movement in the hall and when our drunken neighbors came back at 2:00am we listened to their conversation like they were sitting in our room. Could also hear the trains running outside throughout the night.”

• I loved the ballroom and the history and it felt so fancy.
• The hottub did not work.

“I was really pleased over all it would have been nice if the hot tub was working also there were people making out in the pool but thats not really the hotels fault it just made my kids uncomfortable, also I was kind of concerned because there was a lot of night life activity so I felt like I needed to be extra careful in the public areas. The walls were a little thin too.”

• Plenty of seating in the room other than on the bed. Parking was easy.
• No fridge or microwave in room.

“The staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was mediocre, but they did help by microwaving the left-overs we had from another restaurant. The room, bathroom and furnishings were better than I expected from the reviews that I had read. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating and allowed us a late checkout on final day. Overall, very pleased.”

• Comfortable room. Excellent bed.

“Courteous reception desk. Room was excellent. Bathroom needed wall repair. Exercise room was a joke. Universal Gym was broken. Excercycle was broken. Very poor for a Clarion Hotel.”

• Friendly, helpful staff. A clean room with necessary amenities supplied.
• The water supply to our room took a long time to get warm.

“This hotel is very nice. It is very convenient for the business traveler and others who travel being close to the interstate. It is easy to get to once all the construction is done. Noted there are other attractions as theaters, eating places and the Convention Center nearby with the attached walkways. Enjoyed the stay at this hotel.”

• You could hear everything in the halls.

“Needs better doors for sound proofing the halls. You can hear everything plus takes a while for the water to run hot in the showers. Room was clean and food was pretty good.”

• They did not respond to my request for extra blankets and towels.

“Do not stay here on the weekend or you will be kept up by the bar noises all up and down the street. The customer service was terrible. I asked for towels and blankets at night and she said 'I'll bring those right up'. Nothing. I called in the morning, again asking for towels, 'well, I'm a little busy now, it'll be a few minutes'. Still nothing. I told her I had a toddler and needed extra towels. She just lied to my face.”

• Everything was convenient - parking garage, restaurant, pool. Staff was friendly and nice.
• There was a public bar right our side of the parking garage - was a bit of a scary scene. Drunk people hanging out. Hotel lobby and halls need update.

“Hotel rooms were nice and beds were comfortable. The halls and lobby could be updated. Pool and hot tub was alright. We didn't get to eat at the restaurant but looked alright. I think the hardest thing was the construction around the hotel - it was noisy. Also, the area was so-so. It looks like the city is updating the area but go to the next block and it is a little shady. It should be nice area to walk around maybe in a year or two. Over all a good experience in the hotel - nice staff.”

• The staff did not ask how our stay was at all when we left.

“We had a bad experience since no one told us they were doing major construction in the early morning. This woke us up at 7 am and never stopped. We had a late night and looked forward to sleeping in, but we could not. Also, when we checked out, no one asked us how it was because I don't think they wanted to know. I feel they should have offered us a free breakfast or something like that. There was no free breakfast at this place!”

“I think the hotel is in a good location, the staff was nice, it could use some updating and good cleaning. The pool was horrible. I have never seen an indoor pool at a hotel that was so bad. We wanted to use it but wouldn't because it was bad, and the hot-tub was not even going.”

• The bed was very comfortable.
• The elevators were very slow, the coffee sugar packets were empty and sealed.

“The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. We found a half empty bag of chips stashed in a drawer. The elevators were very slow. Very few staff members, but they were friendly.”

• Cool view from the 10th storey.
• Our room had stained sheets and a broken window.

“It's a decent place to stay and convenient to downtown. (Even connected to the Skywalk featured in downtown Sioux City), but it seems tired as far as nice hotels go. Our room had a broken window fixed with packing tape, and the pool/hot tub area was in good condition but lacked the usual charm you would expect from a bigger, nicer hotel. Also, no complimentary breakfast was a bummer. But I would stay there again, without hesitation.”

• Nice room!
• Smoky bar connected to lobby. Raked of smoke!

“This is a decent hotel. It is obviously older, but it has been well maintained. The room was very clean and nicely renovated. The only problem with this hotel is that the lobby is connected to a bar, and the entire room raked of smoke. Once you get to the upper floors though, the smoke smell is gone.”

“This hotel exceeded my expectations, actually the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Unfortunately some very inconsiderate travelers left their barking dog in the room next to mine, the hotel staff was very apologetic and quickly moved me to a different room. Beware there are a couple of floors that have not yet been remodeled and would not recommend those rooms.”
