• Convenient location for our purposes. All parts that I saw were clean. I like having a coffee maker in the room.

“I would stay at this hotel again. Staff was friendly. We did not eat the continental breakfast but the food appeared good and there was a variety from which to choose. The hotel met our needs for a one-night stay and it was within the price that I wanted. The room, bedding, bathroom all appeared quite clean.”

• For the size of motel they had a very nice breakfast area.
• Pool was a little on the small size.

“It was a nice motel. Beds were fairly comfortable. Parking space was minimal. Continental breakfast was served and had a nice area to sit, eat, read newspaper, watch TV etc. A bigger pool would have been nice but not that important since only there one night.”

• We liked having a door that opened out into the parking lot so we could pack up the car easily.
• There was some mold in the bathroom.

“It wasn't too bad of a stay, but, the bedding could definitely use some updating. The blanket felt like rubber on our bed. The breakfast they offered - included in the price - was pretty good. There was mold around the ceiling in the bathroom.”

• The staff was friendly.
• The facility was old and in disrepair. Our room had a hole in the wall.

“This hotel was adequate for an over night stay. The facility was old and in need of repair. The continental breakfast was adequate, however, the attendant for the breakfast was surly and unfriendly.”

• They had a very nice continental breakfast. This included a variety of beverages, bakery items, cereals, two waffle makers and hard boiled eggs.
• Rooms were outdated and outside of hotel was in poor shape. Weather stripping was coming off. AC was not working. Bathroom ceiling was moldy and hardware rusty.

“I thought we were at the wrong place. It looked like an outdated motel from the outside. The entryway and breakfast area looked updated and very nice, however. The rooms out outside need work. It was a little strange walking around the hotel. I felt like I was in a shabby motel and then turned the corner and felt like I had entered a nice hotel. The breakfast and friendly staff won me over in the end.”

• From street it is located, hard to get back into hotel from the north, easy from the south.

• Dirty horrible place.

“The air rattles like a tornado, the place was not vacuumed and the bathtub had hairs all over. The bath tissue had wet prints on it, from a maid or someone else's urinary moments? The blow dryer is interested with filth. There is nothing good I can say about my stay. Never will I stay at Kelly Inn again.”

“The newly finished pool area is nice, although the pool is not very big and only 3.5" deep. They also have advertised on the sign a new fitness room, which we did not get a chance to check out. Continental breakfast was good, with a big selection. The hotel is very close to the interstate and easy to find also. The rooms are decent, although the room we were in only had two full size beds. On the down side, the upstairs hallway in the hotel smells strongly of cigarette smoke, and the floors carry sound very well; we could hear every person walking by outside our room.”

• The general appearance, lack of facilities, fitness room was substandard and the pool was small and no hot tub.

“The Kelly Inn in Sioux Falls was clean. The room was shabby with rickety furnishings and a weak shower. The pool was very small and shallow as well as the fitness room was 3 cardio machines. The vending machines didn't work and some of the cleaning staff were very rude.”

• The pool was fun for my daughter and me.
• The bed was not very soft.

“We stayed in a king deluxe room, expecting a really nice mattress. The bed was not very soft. My pregnant wife did not sleep well. The pillows, however, were perfect. They have a pillow menu so you can order to your liking. Our daughter loved the pool. The location is good if most of your activities are downtown. If not it is pretty far from the mall and movie theaters.”

• It looked like a condemned building. It was a motel!

“I had to circle the location several times to convince myself that I was at the correct address. I was stunned that this property had a rating of 2-1/2 stars. It is part motel and the newer part is constructed so poorly that I thought I would fall through the floor. The walls are paper thin, the floor feels like you are going to fall thru, and the decor is at least 20 years old and looks like it was purchased form a liquidation of an old motel. This is a 1 star location in a not so great area.”

• The continental breakfast was great! It was clean and in a spacious location in the hotel.
• It was located a little out of the way from the direction we were going to be going.

“When we arrived the front desk attendant acknowledged me and then continued what he was doing with something on the computer that took a few minutes, but he was able to help me and got me to my room in a timely manner and gave me good instructions as to how to get to my room. I had a good nights rest there.”

“The reason we rated things quite low is because of the remodeling and our plans as a leisure traveler were to enjoy the pool and maybe relax in the lobby, etc. But the whole area was understandably a mess because of the construction going on. I must say the room was not very clean. Carpet was poorly vacuumed (dead bugs) and service was poor. We had no room service at all in the two days we were there.”

“Overall, the stay was OK. It met our basic needs from room space to a continental breakfast. The room was clean and spacious. The furniture (bed, recliner) were well worn and not overly comfortable. The room had a nice refrigerator which added to the convenience.”

“The hotel has lots of potential. I think the add ones will be nice to have as well. The room we stayed in could be updated, but the bed was pretty comfortable. We didn't ache too badly the next day. We found one cobweb in the corner of the room, so a good cleaning would help as well. Of course, we live in spider territory, so we know how quickly they can 'renest'. Just something for the hotel to keep after.”

“I would avoid this hotel, not at all like web site describes. Hard to reach as highway exit closed for construction. The hotel is undergoing major renovation. Pool and spa not open Lobby and breakfast area bare sheetrock. Door to room would only lock with extreme amount of pushing. Room felt dirty. Outside of building didn't present well. If I hadn't prepaid I would have left and gladly paid twice as much somewhere else.”

“We drove past the hotel and they were remodeling and there wasn't a car in the whole parking lot. We ended up not staying just on the outside appearance of this hotel, and ended up getting a different hotel and also paying for this one.”

“The hotel is ok for an overnight. There aren't many amenities for the price paid; I was disappointed with the price versus amenities. When the remodeling is finished it will be much better but I don't know the projected date.”

“I was sadly disappointed that the hotel was under construction. The rooms had a fine sheet of dust in them that irritated my asthma and the hot tub was out of order due to construction. This was a great disappointment to me.”
