“Overall the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. There were a few problems. Parking was very expensive, and the resturant in the hotel was over priced. The hotel was very clean and had a bright friendly atmosphere.” Apr 15, 2009 by
Angie from Irving,TX
“This is a great place for a romantic few night stay if you are going to downtown Dallas for dancing and dining. The rooms are bright and comfortable. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to couples looking for a few nights to have fun in downtown.” Apr 1, 2009 by

“This hotel was beyond what we expected. The decor was lovely. The room was spacious and neat. The bed and shower were top quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!” Mar 19, 2009 by
Jennifer from Overbrook,KS
“When pulling a trailer, we had to park on the street and either leave before 7 or start feeding the meter. Parking garage was not connected with the hotel, so had to pay $10 per night if you didn't park on the street. We were able to hear everything in the room next door. But the room itself was very nice, and comfortable.” Mar 2, 2009 by
Ashley from Hendrix,OK
“This is a great hotel. We went for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The rooms were small, but comfortable and the bed was perfect! The staff was amazing and generous! Hightly recommended! We will be back.” Dec 14, 2008 by
Stephanie from Portland,OR
“The hotel looks and feels new. The staff is friendly. The rooms are big and very comfortable. They make you pay $11/day for parking - that's not included in your bid price.” Dec 5, 2008 by
Kathy from Lubbock,TX
“I did not know what to expect when I made reservations, but the location was only five blocks from the family member we had come to visit for Thanksgiving. The decor was refreshingly different. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was an old-fashioned hotel with a new face. Over all, it was a wonderful experience.” Mar 20, 2008 by
Shelley from Rockwell, TX
“The atmosphere was Great. Lots of people moving around. Everyone was friendly. Coffee was excellent. (Starbucks).” Feb 21, 2008 by
Austin from Austin, TX
“We had a great time, the rooms are small but I was never uncomfortable. We walked to all the action, even walked to the American Airlines Center and it was a very nice walk. We will stay there again.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Krista from Mt. Pleasant, TX
“For the price, this hotel is outstanding. It is outstanding! It is convenient to a lot of attractions, and they have a free shuttle that will take you almost anywhere in the city and pick you up when you are ready to come back to the hotel. The drivers are courteous and friendly and very informative about what "to and not to do" in the city. It was our 4th wedding anniversary, and I made mention of this to one of the staff when we checked in. We left for a short while and went out for some sight seeing. When we returned, to our surprise, there was a card from the hotel, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. But the most surprising thing was, in addition to the standard hotel card, there was a personal card (purchased by the employees) and signed by every member of the staff! They made our stay wonderful. I have never had such a good time on a short weekend trip! They cautioned us about the homeless people, and we were aware of the situation from reading other reviews, but, hey, this hotel in inner city! Any large city has a homeless population who gathers downtown for the benefit of the soup kitchens and charitable organizations. That just goes along with any downtown hotel. If someone doesn't want to deal with this, don't stay downtown. We were cautious but not afraid. We felt that they were harmless for the most part, but we did most of our traveling via the hotel shuttle and never even moved our car from the parking garage the entire weekend. This is a non smoking hotel and we mostly encountered the homeless outside the front lobby while we were smoking. They asked for cigarettes or a light. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and we would recommend this hotel to anyone! Well. Maybe not bill gates or Donald trump, but.” Oct 18, 2007 by
Joann from Larue, TN

“I loved the location of the hotel. I was able to walk to my appointment.” Aug 29, 2007 by
Gloria from Cleburne, TX
“The Hotel Indigo was an excellent hotel as it was decorated in bright, tropical colors. The hardwood floors in the rooms versus carpet was great - no nasty looking stains. The hotel overall was great; friendly and eager to help staff, great restaurant, and clean as a whistle.” Jun 29, 2007 by
Kim from Thousand Oaks, CA
“During my business trip in Dallas, I have lost sleep, had cold showers, door was broken and could not get into my room etc.” Jun 27, 2007 by
Lauren from Ft Worth, TX
“Hotel Indigo was in a perfect location for us, close to the Smirnoff Concert Arena, but in downtown Dallas so we could hit the night life afterwards. The room was very comfortable and spacious, allowing us to relax and not feel too overcrowded. I really enjoyed the hotel's interiors; it was fun, youthful, and whimsical, the perfect option for a casual but modern traveler. I highly recommend it!” Jun 11, 2007 by
Greg from Minneapolis, MN
“Too bad the Indigo Aristocrat is in dismal downtown. Not much to see, aside from Dallas Museum of Art. Lots of construction going on, so maybe downtown Dallas will improve over the next few years. The hotel was fine, once inside, but outside needs makeover. My room was very nice, but fan and a/c did not seem to work.” Feb 20, 2007 by
Anne from Lexington, MA
“This newly renovated (2006) hotel has been cheer fully refurbished in bright yellow, greens, bluesand chrome. Magnificent king bed topped by 3 large yellow back pillows and super cozy reverse colored quilt. In lobby are two internets sat- tins, free of charge to guests. Within 2 miles walking distance of almost everything downtown. Walking distance of everything downtown. Lovely.” Feb 14, 2007 by
Kelly from Mansfield, TX
“I loved this hotel. The decor is absolutely beautiful with bright cheery colors - unlike anything Iżve ever seen. The bed was so cozy and fluffy! The rooms were a little small, but the furniture was adorable. Staff was friendly. Location is a little bit sketchy, but inside is amazing!” Feb 7, 2007 by
Dee from Richmond, TX
“The hotel was great but the parking was not the best. The cafe was too expensive. They were charging basically 10.00 for an omelet.” Jan 8, 2007 by
Misti from Houston, TX
“It has great proximity to downtown Dallas businesses, and also has underground tunnel access. The wall colors in the lobby and the room were quite bright. It felt a little like a college dorm though, because of the tiny bathroom and small closet which was difficult to access.” Nov 22, 2006 by
John from Galveston, TX
“Guests will be pleasantly surprised at most all aspects of their stay - lobby is stylish, staff is friendly, outgoing and helpful. Common areas indicate attention to detail as do rooms. When you step into the room you are WOWED. Suite was spacious, well appointed, had wood floors, bed was comfortable, plenty of storage, Wi-Fi, bathroom was luxurious with aveda products, decent towels, good water pressure - overall very nice experience.” Nov 17, 2006 by
Gary from Houston, TX
“Love it, love it, and love it. Will take my wife there on a romantic trip to Dallas soon.” Sep 25, 2006 by
Lawrence from Brooklyn, NY
“Very helpful, pleasant staff, a very clean, restful stay. Thank you.” Sep 22, 2006 by
Yaron from Houston, TX
“Nice hotel, historic site, comfortable room.” Sep 20, 2006 by
Jeannine from Jacksonville, TX
“The moment you walk in the aroma was pleasing. The bright colors were vibrant and the decorations took you to a place of instant relaxation the beach. It also had that "old" time feel of the 20's. It was lovely. So relaxing like being at home but much better. Crisp, clean and just felt good. The bed and pillows were fluffy and you just didn't want to get out of bed. The colors just instantly made you feel GOOD....HAPPY! I haven't stopped telling everyone how I have come across the most unique kind of place to stay and well worth the extras. I am also pleased to find this Hotel was not just one that it is a chain. We go to Houston/Galveston area a lot and we will surly want to stay again in this area. Thanks for being different and not the usual type of Hotel/Motel stay. Truly a treasure and a wonderful night stay! ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER to bad I can't be a tenant.......” Mar 30, 2006 by
Clarence from Seal Beach, CA
“I actually ended up leaving early.” Mar 22, 2006 by
Jason from Wichita Falls, TX
“The hotel was worth the money because of the location. It was within walking distance of the West End, The Dallas Museum of Art, and just about anything you want to see in downtown Dallas. There was a parking garage across the street. The cost of parking was $6 a day. We arrived later in the evening and the staff wasn't welcoming or friendly. The interior of the hotel was old but okay. The hotel is scheduled for remodeling in the summer of "06". We stayed in a suite which was very nice and clean. Two TV's, comfortable bed, large rooms and bath room. We stay for only one night. In the morning the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It's a different place during the day. The only complaint is its right next to the police station so there is a number of people walking around that area that have just been released from jail. Also, as we walked around Dallas it seemed every block somebody would ask for money or food. The bums and homeless in the area are a little bothersome. Walking the streets a night might not be a good idea.” Mar 18, 2006 by

“I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Aristocrat. The hotel was in a great location, minutes away from the West End and Dallas Museum of Art. The immediate surrounding area was a bit scary, especially at night when I frequently encountered homeless people on my walk back to the hotel. The hotel was a beautiful building with lots of old charm and character. My room, a queen suite, was very nice. It was obvious that the hotel was old, as the carpet, end tables, and TV stands were a bit shabby. However, the entire room was very clean and well maintained. My only complaint was that the shower curtain needed to be replaced. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows fluffy and firm, and the towels soft and clean. Sadly, the hotel staff was somewhat inadequate in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The staff simply did their job and did not go above the average. Overall, the hotel was good value for the money and in an excellent location. I would advise caution if traveling with small children due to the immediate surroundings, although I was relieved to encounter several police officers.” Feb 13, 2006 by
John from Las Cruces, NM
“Nothing to say the hotel was a bust. And your company will never get a good word from me. In fact I check out 4 days ahead of time; my god I have walk in closet bigger than the room I and my wife were in. Also the heating and cooling was bad.” Dec 26, 2005 by
Stephanie from Plano, TX
“The rooms are tiny, the carpet is filthy. Miserable.” Dec 5, 2005 by
Russell from Fresno, CA
“It has the potential to be outstanding but it needs a complete rehab. The area of the city where the hotel is located is in need of urban renewal. I can see things changing soon.” Nov 30, 2005 by
Melissa from Sherman, TX
“I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family. I would personally stay there again because it was in downtown Dallas, but it was still a safe area.” Nov 23, 2005 by
Jason from Tulsa, OK
“Great hotel. Just all around great.” Oct 31, 2005 by
John from Suwanee, GA
“The hotel has a good location but is in dire need of renovation as it looks like it has not been updated since the 70's. I expect more from a Holiday Inn.” Sep 14, 2005 by
Roger from Austin, TX
“I loved the charming Driskell design, and the fact that everything was within walking distance. The parking garage did have a third floor walk-over connecting the buildings so you don't have to cross a street at ground level at night. Parking was only three dollars a night. I was impressed with the overall experience.” Aug 29, 2005 by
Jessica from Roanoke, VA
“helpul, friendly, considerate staffrooms on the small side, but adequate” Aug 26, 2005 by
Dolores from Steilacoom, WA
“Around the corner from Thanksgiving Square, in downtown Dallas, this comfortable hotel is convenient and affordable. The restaurant fare is well-prepared and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful and courtesy shuttle service is readily available to take you to locations within a 2 mile radius.” Aug 11, 2005 by
Hardy from Lubbock, TX
“It has some quaint qualities about it. If you enjoy staying in an older building, in the older part of downtown Dallas, this is the hotel for you.” Aug 9, 2005 by
Harold from Many, LA
“The hotel had charm, the food was excellent, the desk clerks were great” Aug 4, 2005 by
Pauli from Edmond, OK
“This hotel is on the registry of historic places. It is conveniently located and the parking garage is nearby and inexpensive. It is one of the best small hotels.” Aug 1, 2005 by
Susan from Hewitt, TX
“Very impressive lobby but room we stayed in needed some updating. Hotel staff was friendly (especially shuttle drivers). Covered parking w/security but for an additional charge. Next time I'm in downtown Dallas, I would prefer staying closer to West End so would be more accessible to more dining choices.” Jul 5, 2005 by
Gavier from Abilene, TX
“THe hotel was great for the type of trip we had. it was convenient and even offered shuttle to where we were going.” Jul 1, 2005 by
Tracy from Baton Rouge, LA
“What a shame that this hotel looks the way it does. It has a beautiful outside and lobby, but stained carpet in elevators and hallways and also the carpet has buckled in the hallways. The mattressess were gross! I think they were 5 inches thick and stains were on the boxsprings. A fresh coat of paint, new beds, better pillows, new carpet would do this hotel justice. Everyone we talked to were very surprised how bad things looked. Very nice staff, willing to help. Even let us check out 2 other rooms. Always said hello when we left or came back. Everyone was very helpful. ” Jun 29, 2005 by
Bianca from Chicago, IL
“I would not stay there again. I spent three nights listening to the people next door's noise. It was horrible.” Jun 25, 2005 by
Ellen from Wichita Falls, TX
“It was okay, I expected better for the rating. The carpet in the room was gummy, and it was very scary when I had to park my car across the street in an parking garage, and then find my way back to the hotel.” Jun 24, 2005 by
Carma from Boyd, TX
“This hotel was dirty and old and more like a 2 star hotel, the room stunk of smoke so they moved me to a room that didnt have a remote control for the tv and the bed was not even made up so I moved back to the smokey smelly room. Then they tried to charge me for a breakfast that I did not have the next morning and made me late for an appt trying to get it off my credit card.” Jun 19, 2005 by
Vicki from Tulsa, OK
“We were treated very well, the staff was awesome! I was a little disapointed in the size of the room but it was very nice otherwise.” Jun 15, 2005 by
Glenn from Temple, TX
“The hotel was fine, location very bad, but that's downtown Dallas....This is NOT about the hotel......” Jun 14, 2005 by
Chris from Houston, TX
“Excellent place to stay, I wouldn't recommend it if you were staying for a longer then a few days. The smell in the hallways got to me. Overall the rooms were clean and comfortable.”
