“The air conditioner went out in the room. The staff was courteous and quickly came to the room to assess the problem. The repair man broke the tile that the shower rod was attached to so we were moved to another room. It took several hours even for this room to feel comfortable. The staff was great and was very friendly. The hotel has recently been remodeled and it looks great. The Family movie night on the roof top did not seem to have a very kid friendly movie. Bummer. We have stayed here before and like the hotel this was just a minor setback for us and we would stay here again. The kids love the pool on the roof 30 floors above the city.”

• The room was beautiful, the building was beautiful everything was clean and professional the view was incredible.

“I was more than happy. I walked into my room (which was beautifully decorated) and was amazed. It had 2 queen beds that made me feel like home and a couch that was inviting as well.”

“Ten of ten for cleanliness and staff. Food options at night were limited to the Steakhouse and room service which were the same menu, or the bar. Not great. I will definitely stay again.”

• It met my four star expectations. Had a pool on the roof, wonderful!

“The hotel was exactly what a four star hotel is supposed to be. Very comfortable beds, spacious rooms, great service, and large Plasma TV. The hotel has a well-equipped gym and a lap pool on the roof.”

• Room, staff, location everything was perfect.
• There was a movie matinee pool side for the kids, nobody told us.

“They accommodated my every request. The bar was very nice and the bartender took care of us. The front desk helped me locate a few places for my wife and kid. For the price, I only wish I could have taken a longer vacation. Very much worth every penny. We will be trying to go back to Dallas, and I will be staying there again.”

• Dining in the bar area at 11pm-service was slow and staff could have been a little nicer.

• The greeters needed to be retrained. Got bad looks from them each time I came in/left.

• Cleanliness and the king bed was comfortable.
• Door adjoining another room made it possible to hear every word guest in next room said.

“The room was very nice and updated. Nice linens. The view of Dallas from the roof was great to see at night although it would be nice to be able to sit up there and look at the city. The breakfast buffet at Charismas was awesome Saturday and not so great Sunday. Having Starbucks coffee in the lobby was also nice. Doors connecting rooms made it a little noisy and took away from the feel of privacy since I know if we could hear our neighbors talking they could also hear us.”

• The tub I like to stay in a hotel with a really big tub to relax before I go out.

“The service was excellent even with the minor mishap with my dessert. The staff was extremely accommodating. The room was beautifully decorated. My friend and I kept finding different and unusual qualities about the room decor.”

• Location is excellent, view of skyline is fantastic, it is very high class. Bed sheets are amazing.
• The pool and hot tub seem out of date. No free breakfast like other places.

“Great location for someone who doesn't know the area very well. Fast and easy check in and out, comfortable rooms. I plan on staying there each time I come to Dallas.”

• The room was the size of a closet, the hotel staff was not helpful and it was not accommodating.

“The hotel lobby looks impressive and it seems like you'd be getting a pretty great room. We had two nights at this hotel and it was awful. The room was tiny, not nearly enough room for two grown adults and we had to sleep on a queen size bed. We asked for a different room both days, and the only consolation we received was a free cup of coffee from the snack shop. Horribly designed space, inattentive staff.”

• I liked the location of the hotel. It was near the Interstate and convenient for me.
• The last day of my stay. The maids knocked on my door before 8 am.

“Overall I enjoyed my stay. I do not agree that this a 4 star hotel. Though I do believe it is closer to a 4 star that a 3 star. I would recommend staying there. I had no really big complains.”

• Very convenient to downtown, great view of Dallas sky.
• Bathtub small in honeymoon suite.

“Really awesome staff, took great care of us and very Texas friendly! Had a very rememberable honeymoon. We will stay there again! Very clean and very bright with lots of lights and mirrors to reflect the mood. Restaurants and bars were very clean and very upscale, very elegant but yet we also felt as if they had known us as old friends or family.”

• Loved the classy look & atmosphere of this hotel. The employees were so friendly & helpful.
• Pool area & safety of the look out spot could be worked on.

“Excellent hotel for short business trips. It was definitely a top-notch place to stay. The rooms were clean and large enough to have colleagues come by & unwind--loved the cute sofa area, great for small intimate gatherings. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. Greeted us daily as we left for our Conference & were there to greet us when we returned. Had a wonderful meal in the restaurant--steak salad was delicious? Wait help was friendly & didn't even balk when we came rushing in right before closing. What a wonderful experience staying at the Renaissance, I'd recommend this hotel to others definitely.”

“We waited for 20 minutes for a waiter to take our order. It was our honeymoon weekend. This was the only bad thing about this hotel. Big rooms, comfortable, friendly staff, and I guess one could expect more of the swimming pool only being 3 ft. deep.”

• Really good food, and the staff was as helpful as they could be, under the circumstances.
• The noise.

“I don't get much quiet time with two small children in my home, so I was very much looking forward to this one night as a mini-vacation. However, much to my dismay, we had to listen to really loud construction noises going on the roof of the hotel. The noise reverberated down the elevators and was almost unbearable. We did ask to be moved farther away from the elevators, and the noise did subside a little, but we were moved from a very spacious room with two queen beds and a couch, to the smallest room I've ever stayed in - ever. I felt like we were in a closet, really; the room was an odd shape with just enough room for a queen bed and a small desk and chair. But, I was happier in the smaller room with less noise than in the larger room, so we stayed. It was really a shame, because otherwise the hotel was really nice and I would have totally enjoyed the evening instead of gritting my teeth and trying to ignore all the hub-bub. I really thought about asking for some kind of compensation, since I felt so strongly that those hours were not at all restful, but then decided against adding more stress to the situation.”

• It was all that we expected and more.
• The room service rates where a little higher than expected.

“This hotel was excellent. The staff was friendly and the room was spectacular. The pool and hot tub are on the roof which is awesome and there is a place to go all the way up to see the view over Dallas. You can see an awesome sunset up there and from your room. I would defiantly recommend for people to stay there if at all possible.”

“This hotel is undergoing a complete renovation that will be completed in June of 2008. In its old state, The guest rooms are not four star. However, the newly remodeled rooms are truly four star.”

• Initially assigned a married couple to room with two double beds. But, moved to upper level king.

“Front desk staff somewhat slovenly, but when complained of room, immediately moved us to upper room with appropriate king. Sent bellman to move us and our bags.”

• Basically nice, clean, and friendly. It had some upscale features but not a full four-star place.
• The lobby was small and uninviting. The place has the feel of a business hotel with most emphasis on getting to the rooms and little for families.

“Excellent hotel in almost every way. It has the feel of a good business hotel but isn't a place that naturally accommodates families. The small and minimal lobby isn't welcoming to small children, which we have.”

• Noise! woke up early each day due to noise in adjoin rooms. Also, we put in handicap access room with two double beds.

• Upscale yet affordable, convenient location.
• You can hear everything in neighboring rooms, which from an upscale hotel you would expect the walls to block out noise from next door.
