• The beds were fabulously comfortable.
• The pillows were just ok and the tub did not drain properly.

• It was a great hotel, exceptionally clean.
• There was nothing I didn't like.

“The hotel was one of the nicer 2 star places we have stayed at. Very comfortable beds, very clean room with nice choices for the continental breakfast including one hot item. Staff was very helpful and extremely friendly, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• Scum around the hot tub.

• Awesome bed. Quiet neighborhood.
• Air conditioner broke in the middle of the night.

• Cleanliness even though going through remodeling/redecorating.
• Garbage cans are too small - this applies to all hotels I've ever stayed at - the small garbage cans are always overflowing!

• Very nice front counter staff, they made sure we had 2 beds in our hotel room.
• The Bathroom wasn't too clean.

• Nice staff.
• Mold in shower, no hair dryer, and no shampoo.

“This hotel could use some upgrading. There is no excuse for mold in the shower that could be taken care of with bleach and or fresh caulk. It has been a long time since I have stayed in a hotel without a hair dryer and I think it is mandatory for any 2 star or above property.”

“Good location near mall, restaurants, and Alerus Center. Friendly staff, clean and good sized rooms. Too much hallway noise during our stay with kids running up and down most of the evening. Breakfast bar was picked over and not replenished well.”

• Reasonable continental breakfast included.
• Hotel seemed cheaply constructed.

“Close to shopping areas (mall), located close to restaurants. Hotel was quiet during our stay, which was a Sunday night. Units are clean and spacious with good sheets and pillows. Pool is very small. Small microwave in room which can be used to heat items from the continental breakfast for in room dining.”

• It was warm, friendly and had a good breakfast.
• Nothing.

“Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was clean and the beds were comfortable with lots of pillows! It was a wonderful place to spend the night and I would stay there again.”

• From the time we got in the door until we left. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Front desk, maid, breakfast service.
• There was nothing, except no adjoining rooms.

“We loved it. We would definitely stay there again. It wasn't fancy but it was comfortable and the staff was friendly and considerate. They did their best to make our stay great.”

• The room was very nice and clean.
• The deadbolt did not latch well and we were across the hall from vending machines.

“It was a very nice hotel with nice rooms. Very tall ceilings and the furniture was new and nice. The deadbolt was very difficult to turn and I myself could not do it. My boyfriend had a difficult time turning it to make it latch. We were placed across the hall from vending machines which were rather noisy. Otherwise this was a very nice place to stay and the breakfast was good.”

• Beds are super comfortable, great linens, great breakfast.
• Breakfast could go longer; pool could be more kid friendly.

“Love this hotel, super comfortable. Would love to see it become more family friendly in the pool area. Conditioner in the bath would be a nice touch too. All in all, great hotel room, great price.”

• Clean, quiet, tastefully decorated rooms; clean pool and whirlpool.
• No complaints.

“The hotel was convenient to shopping and restaurants. The pool and whirlpool area was very clean with lots of seating and soft towels. The room was newly - decorated and clean and quiet. Breakfast provided good variety - mostly crabs though. Staff very friendly.”

• Very clean, comfortable beds & pillows, quiet & safe.
• I like to sleep in and with most hotels, breakfast time quits too early. When I wake up and am ready to catch a bite to eat & coffee, it is shut down.

“Easy to find, close to shopping & sports/concert events. Very clean & safe feeling. Friendly staff when ever I have visited. Kudos to hotel & staff!”

• Continental breakfast was excellent!
• The pool was a little small.

“My stay at the Fairfield inn was very enjoyable. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. The beds were the most comfortable motel bed that I¿ve ever slept on and the continental breakfast featured jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches two waffle machines along with other traditional continental breakfast staples. It was the best continental breakfast I have had at a motel. The pool was a bit small but still very nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.”

• Too much chlorine in pool & hot tub.

• Especially like the armchair and ottoman in room, very comfortable for reading.
• Not enough sound barrier between rooms, floors. Other guests woke us up at 5 a.m. with TV and movement noises

“I found this hotel very nice except for the noise between rooms and floors. More sound proofing would have been in order. Decor was very lovely. Bed super comfortable. Loved having an air chair and ottoman to sit in to read. Didn't use the breakfast feature but it looked nice.”

• The staff were amazing. Went the extra mile several times; courteous, gracious and welcoming.
• There was no fitness center on site.

“What a stay. It was an amazing deal and the accommodations were fabulous. Convenient location, with shopping a stone's throw away. The staff are amazing, energetic employees who value their guests. Last, but not least, the complimentary breakfast was one of the tops I have had and I travel a lot! Cheers! Happy Traveler!”

• Had a little difficulty finding a parking spot when returning at night.

• The motel was freshly remodeled and very clean.
• The pool and hot tub were small.

“The Fairfield Inn is a good place to stay. It was clean and freshly remodeled. The continental breakfast was also very good. They also offered free wireless Internet. Overall it was a nice motel, but I've stayed in better places at the same star level. The room was a little small and the pool and hot tub were tiny and there were no exercise facilities.”

• Grand Forks has a limited supply of mid class hotels and the Fairfield would be in the upper middle class for this location.
• The hotel does not appear to have enough parking stalls.

“Busy hotel during the weekend with young hockey players. However, the building appears to be well constructed with limited noise.”

• I was very impressed with the selection during the continental breakfast.
• I wish there would be more than one ice machine in the buidling.

“The motel was very accommodating to my reservation wishes, allowed me to check in early and was every bit what I expect a motel to be. The staff was friendly and courteous, the rooms were clean and spacious and the location of the facility is very close to many of the city's main attractions.”
