• Nothing-wouldn't stay there again.
• Cleanliness, no working shower,
  dirty floor, inadequate security door.

“I would not recommend this hotel unless you couldn't find ANYTHING else. The hotel was old, torn carpet, bad security latches, unvacuumed carpet, 1st room didn't have a shower that worked. Had to move to another room at 10:30pm. Second room had cracked porcelain in tub,”

• Nothing special but available.

“This was one of the few hotels available for the date I needed. Nothing special but worked for one night. Rooms need remodel. My heater did not seem to find a happy medium. Either too hot or too cold. Breakfast was adequate but cramped.”

“The ground directly in front of the building entrance has a big puddle one has to walk around to get in the building (it is in the middle of the door and was full of garbage). Our bathtub was full of hair. Someone's molded leftovers were under the bed. The furniture is showing extreme wear. They did have a decent breakfast layout and the staff was pretty amiable.”

“This hotel was filthy, the carpets were dirty, there was a terrible odor, and the lobby was dirty. My husband would not even let me set my bags on the floor of the room because it was so filthy. Ashes in an ashtray, toilet dirty, floor dirty, beds had hair in them. Scary!”

• Dirty, pool was disgusting. Room was stunk. Stains on wall. Uncomfortable bed.

“The room was well below expectations. The room smelled musty and was dirty. There were stains on the wall from something that was splattered. The pool water was yellow and dingy. My son was very disappointed since I would not let him swim in it. Not even close to 2 star. The breakfast was good.”

• There is nothing about the hotel that I liked.
• The room stank, bathroom was poorly kept, staff was very rude and disrespectful, would not recommend this to anyone.

• Some of the staff was professional and courteous.
• Refrigerator was not available.

“This is a fairly old motel, I believe built in the seventies, and renovations are shoddy. Room was clean upon arrival, but daily housekeeping over a five-night stay was minimal. We will not stay here again.”

“When we arrived we were put in a smoking room but were told it was non smoking. It was clearly smoking (including an ashtray in the room). We were then moved to a non smoking room. The front desk girl would barely talk to us, wouldn't give us directions to our room. The motel was easy to find, the continental breakfast was good & rooms were clean.”

• I was with my family.
• Dirty, holes in wall, moldy stinky shower curtain, beds were hard, sidewalks in disrepair.

“I would not recommend this hotel for the simple reason it is not kept up at all. They seem to be doing some renovations which might help! I did not leave and go to another hotel simply because there were none available for graduation weekend in the college town of Grand Forks. You also have to walk a country mile just to get to the lobby. Hotel staff were not courteous at all about the non-smoking room, we asked for, and it took a long time to check in. Never again!.”

• Pool was out of service. We were not informed on check in.

“The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the price was very reasonable. I am glad they are updating the pool because it needs it. Breakfast is dough nuts, muffins, coffee, and cereal, but the juice station is very good. Walls are bit thin as we could hear the TV's in surrounding rooms. We have stayed here in the past, and will do so in the future.”

“The staff at the hotel was friendly, but anxious to get into rooms prior to check out time to clean rooms. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was poor i.e. especially toilets in rooms. The pool area was very unattractive as the surrounding areas were full of what looked like mold (how healthy is that for the children). Overall, was not happy with this hotel, would not stay there again and would not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family.”

• The pool was simple but really warm. The breakfast was sufficient.
• The carpet and overall appearance of the room was not good at all. Everything looked old and in need of repair.

“With a little bit of fixing up will be a great hotel for the budgeted traveler. I would stay there again, but keep in mind I am not a 5 star hotel kind of person to begin with.”

• The staff were very friendly and helpful.
• It could use some updating - I'm not fond of water spots in the ceiling tiles in the bathroom.

“It's more in line with the one-star hotels, except it has a pool. Our thought was the reason it was upgraded was simply because of the pool. Could use some updating, but was clean. Water spots on ceiling tiles took a lot away from the overall appearance.”

• The rooms were terribly small, the bathroom extremely small and run down, the shower curtain rod kept falling down, our TV was so old.

“Besides all of the above mentioned, the continental breakfast was all microwavable food and the muffins were small and purchased at Sam's Club. The entrances were terrible 3 of them were directly into the pool area and if you were sitting in there when the door opened you about froze. Terrible stay!”

“The room was clean and what you would expect. The staff was friendly yet not overly speedy, and the room over the breakfast room was like having built in company. You could hear every word the other guests were saying right through the floor.”

• The front desk clerk was great.
• They didn't clean the rooms and there is a mold problem.

“The hotel looks great from the outside, the inside is another story. We were not able to check in on time as they weren't finished cleaning rooms. The bathroom had mold on the floor and shower (woke up with swollen eyes from allergies). The room smelled very musty. No one cleaned our room by 7pm the next day and when we called the front desk we were told cleaning staff went home for the day. They moved us to a suite for our last night as it was the only one clean and available (I have to say that eased our frustration).”

“The hotel when entering the lobby and the outside looks very nice but once you enter the rooms there are very small and dirty the bathrooms are very old. The bathrooms were not cleaned everyday. For 3 days in a row we had not hot water. When it was mentioned to the staff they said that they were going to look into it on Monday. The pool was out of order one day and the area around the pool was very dirty. There was no food left in the continental breakfast and they did nothing to get more. Every complaint that was brought forward to the staff was just shrugged off and they didn't seem to care. I will not stay here again and I will make that known to anyone who asks where to stay in Gand forks.”

“Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room I was in (230) was a health nightmare. Mold at the bottom of the walls, and the bathroom was a nightmare, with black mold all over the tiles, tiles falling apart, and when you pull the shower handle, the entire unit pulled away from the wall. Really bad! Beds were cheap and definitely made for multiple people. Thin walls, could hear every word of conversations around me.”

• The windows could be opened for fresh air.
• Moldy shower tiles, not vacuumed properly, reeked of stale smoke.

“It was awful. The lock to the exterior door was missing, leaving a hole where it should have been, so there was no security. There was a large gap at the bottom of the room door. We were traveling with a pet, so were forced into a smoking room. The stale smoke smell in the room was overpowering. The bathroom was atrocious. There was mold in the corners of the shower. The toilet seat was too large for the bowl and had cigarette stains on it, as did the bathtub edge. The floor was not installed properly and there were large gaps of caulk where the edges of the flooring met the tub and door frame. The sink faucets did not operate properly. It was very unpleasant.”

• Good location, friendly staff, nice crib for baby.
• The shower curtain was stained. Our room was above the breakfast room, so noisy.

“This was the second time I have stayed at the settle inn. Our room was clean. The staff was friendly. The continental breakfast was well maintained. There was a cute little crib for our baby. The location is good. Our only complaint was that our room was over the breakfast room and beside the stairs, so it was noisy in the morning.”

• Bathroom fixtures (sink and tub faucets) needed attention.

“On the first morning of our stay, there was plenty of food for the continental breakfast. On the following morning, the coffee was weak and by 8:30 a.m., there were not any muffins, fruit or bread left. Anyone who came later for breakfast was disappointed.”

• The room had a distinctive mildew smell (had to buy air fresheners).

“Hotel was very run down the bathrooms were very old there was no fridge, DVD player or even a blow-dryer in the rooms. The walls were very thin and all the noise in the hallway could be hear as well as the plumbing from surrounding rooms. The pool as well was very old and run down the pool area was very humid (there was a layer of moisture on the door windows also caused another unpleasant odor. Overall was very disappointed would not recommend this hotel to anyone spend the few extra dollars and spend the night somewhere else.”

• Discussing, out dated, needs repair, dirty, gross, toilet didn't flush.

“Very bad experience. We where in town for a wedding. We booked 3 rooms. Under the bed we found left items from previous people. The toilet didn't flush at all. They didn't fix it. This was the worst hotel experience we have ever had. Very disappointing!”
