• It was close to the beach.
• That it was not that clean.

“The hotel had roaches and the room service has a very bad language people, they cannot understand you and you cannot understand them and the breakfast was okay there than that it was okay.”

• The location is not bad.
• The utilities are old. The room has the strong smoke smell. The coffee make is dirty. The bed is not comfortable.

• No pots and pans in the room, had to ask for them.

• Good location. Good restaurants and shopping very close to hotel. Easy walk to beach.
• Room location not ideal. Had to cross busy street to get to beach and some dining.

• Convenience of location. Pool and hot tub. Continental Breakfast and internet access.
• I had to take a handicap access room and the tile on the floor was not conducive to beach stay due to sand and things set too low for 6 ft person.

“Even though I did not like my particular room due to it being a handicap access room that I had to take due to the hotel being sold out, I do highly recommend this hotel. The location, price and overall facilities are wonderful as is the staff.”

• This hotel was everything we expected, we will stay again very soon.
• The pool was very small and the hot tub was not working very well. To far from the beach.

“This is a very good hotel to stay at while visiting South Pared, my two sons enjoyed it. We will stay at this location again very soon. The price was just right for the rating.”

• Middle of down-town, walking distance to the movie theater.
• Stale air in the room and the water tasted bad.

“If you need a place to sleep this hotel is not a bad choice. It is Downtown and close to almost everything worth seeing. It is not on the beach but close enough to walk it or drive it. Eat at yummiest on the south end of the island near the bridge. Great food, made the trip worth it.”

• Location was great and easy to find, staff at night printed out directions for us.
• Parking and the internet.

“Hotel was not bad for a 2 star hotel. Room however did have a lot of sand on the ground from the moment we walked in. Room had a small burner. However neither pots nor pans. The internet did not work the whole time had to go lobby. We actually left a day early due to not being able to complete some important emails for work. Kind of upsetting services provided however it did not work. Staff was nice and friendly we need a map printed and night staff did it right away. Pool outside was nice also.”

• Very friendly and respectful staff.
• Very loud air conditioning.

“Hotel served the needs we needed, a place to sleep. The air conditioner was extremely loud, we had to turn it off at night. After about 9:30 a.m. the staff began some loud work, i.e. pressure washing the sidewalk, remodeling a nearby room; so if you got to bed late it was hard to sleep late.”

• Dirty carpet ,musty smelling, smelly cabinets.

“we came at slow time ,therefore we were told that our rooms would not be cleaned after 11:30 ,after the fact carpets were dirty ,room had strong musty smell ,very disappointed immediately went to find other hotels because we were stuck with this one ,nice breakfast though, it is obvious that hotel caters to spring breakers alpha party's ,not for family”

• For the price I paid when I booked, it was worth it. Great location. However, I wouldn't pay more for it.
• Just that it could use some updating, better towels, new bedspreads, thicker pillows.

“Like I said, it was a great location, clean hotel & worth the price we paid. It was what we expected but, it isn't worth paying a higher price (as the prices go up the later you book). The bedding could have been better such as newer bedspreads & fuller pillows. Maybe next time I'd pay more for a nicer room but, we were happy with what we had.”

• I liked the ice machine, plenty towels and waffles.
• I did not like: could not bring breakfast to my wife, waffle line were to long.

“The first impression of my room was the smell of mold or mildew. We used a whole can of Lysol to freshen up the room, need to allow customer to bring breakfast to spouse in their own room, need another waffle griddle, and need more variety for continental breakfast, we didn't like the fruit cut up for us please put whole fruit out.”

• The staff was very friendly and respectful ,which makes you feel welcome and please do come back.
• Only one ice maker was broken.

• 2 room apartment gave us plenty of room; would have been appropriate for cooking meals.
• We couldn't get into a smoking room.

• Trash Bag Full of Trash Left on Doorstep of Hotel Room When we checked in.

“If your looking for just a Good Clean Place to just sleep this is your place, nice pool to hang out at and Jacuzzi. Close to the beach although if walking need to cross a busy street, not on the beach side of the street.”

• The breakfast was better than expected, fresh waffles, fruit, doughnuts, bagels, toast, coffee, juice, cereal, etc.
• If you did not let them clean the room by 12:00 pm then they would not clean it that day.

“It was much better than I expected. I have paid more money for far fewer amenities. The rooms were clean, and the lobby and breakfast room were spotless. The free breakfast offered quite a bit more than some places that have nothing but stale cereal and burnt coffee. They offered fresh waffles, fresh fruit, doughnuts, toast, bagels, cereal, juice, and coffee. The pool/hot tub area was small but was private and looked nice. Our room had two queen beds, a small table with chairs, and the dresser with TV, etc. There was also a cabinet with a microwave, small fridge, and coffee pot. Yet there was still enough room to move around, and my mother uses a walker. The sink and vanity area was outside the commode and tub/shower area, and was large enough to put everything out. The central location is close to everything on the main strip. We were pleasantly surprised.”

• Waffle bar and breakfast appealed to all of the family.
• Staff was confused how to handle, but recovered.

“Location was further North than most prefer, but worked fine for my family. Was very close to great restaurants and shops, Breakfast bar was terrific asset for family, Staff was very friendly, always left extra towels and soap, and kept a clean facility.”

• Great room, great staff, beautiful sunset.
• Restaurant adjacent to hotel.

“The desk clerk, was very hospitable and helpful. He gave us information on the things we wanted to do and see. Answered all our questions with a very pleasant attitude. He made our stay very nice. Kudos to super 8 for having a great facility and staffing it with wonderful people.”

• Good price.
• After getting there to South Padre, we realized there were a lot more choices for not a great deal more money.

“Hotel was OK. Pretty clean and in a safe location. Nothing exceptional about it, but that wasn't really what we were expecting anyway. It was fine for the money, but I would probably choose to spend $20-$30 more per night and go to a nicer one if we went back.”
