• Ran out of cream cheese for bagels at breakfast.

• Located at South Padre.
• Staff spoke mostly Spanish, beach access poor, etc.

“The hotel is clean and basic. Getting to the beach is like walking the gang plank. If someone is coming from the other direction, you have to turn side ways. It's a fine hotel for a boys trip to the beach, but hardly makes the grade for the entire family.”

• My room had not been cleaned. Not vacuumed. Dirty linens. Dirty sink.

“The day manager's attempt to embarrass me in front of other patrons and her attempt to intimidate me by making it seem as if I were lying about the room's dirtiness was totally unnecessary. I have stayed at this hotel before and had a great experience and I expected the same this time. However, it was not meant to be. I'm hoping this was just an isolated incident and not the norm.”

“The overall stay was great, next to the beach had a nice size pool, and most of all was very comfortable place to spend the night and enjoy the stay for the vacation.”

• The decor was nice outside and the pool area was very pretty. The room was very clean. The towels were nice and thick and plentiful.
• The bedding was very worn and thin.

“Travelodge on Padre Island was very beautiful, especially at night. It is close to the beach and has a private walkway to get there. The staff was friendly and helpful and the desk people spoke good English. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub weren't working for the first couple days after we arrived, but were fixed in time and then were useable.”

• Having a "happy hour" even if we didn't attend. It brought the older longer term guests together and made a social situation.
• For late breakfast attendees, they were often out of some of the food and even coffee.

“Good enough that we made reservations for next year. Very clean, respectful of the guest's timing when housekeeping was needed. Responded to bulb replacement within 1/2 hour. Very nice.”

• The friendly staff and the pool and hot tub.
• Shower was not hot enough.

“The hotel was nice they had a happy hour during the week and we were able to meet with another couple and talk. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The only complaint was the showers were not hot enough.”

• Great access to beach. Wooden walkway all the way down to beach.
• Bathroom was not clean. Had mildew in different places.

“My experience at the Travelodge was not that good & was the ultimate deciding factor to cut our losses and leave early. Outside our door smelt of dirty, stale trash. There were molded weenies in our fridge. There was no carpet and the beds were like sleeping on the floor. Not enough pillows (2) & they were flat. The towels were thin & rough and felt like sandpaper. There was no water pressure in the shower. The outdoor Jacuzzi was broke and we were not offered an alternative (such as a bed w/ in-room Jacuzzi). The only good thing about this hotel was the beach access (a few minutes walk away - but the walkway was completely fenced & narrow. Wide enough for a medium-sized person, an outside shower, cold A/C, & wireless internet. If I visit s. Padre again, I will not stay at this hotel.”

• This hotel met our needs. It was clean, near the beach, & housekeeping was great.
• One of the receptionist was not friendly I would have paid extra for a smile.

“We have stayed at other hotels and they were too busy and expensive. They were crowded. The Travelodge was not what I expected. We are planning to stay there again. We're satisfied customers.”

“This hotel was great! It was the best hotel on the island for the price we got. It is beach side, not bay side (a good thing) big rooms, walkway to beach, really a great room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know, and I will definitely stay there on the next trip.”

• The view and the location to the beach were fantastic.
• There is really nothing I can say bad. Sorry.

“The rooms and their facilities were very clean. The rooms were very spacious and their breakfast every morning was exceptional. My hat off to the property owners, if I have any friends going out your way I will definitely recommend them to your services, again thanks for everything.”

• The location to the beach was very accessible.
• We found bugs in the room.

“The hotel was within walking distance of most places of interest, shopping, and beach and I would likely stay again but hope not to have a bug problem again. The front desk offered to move us but that was all they could do since we had already pre paid which I felt was not a good way to handle. We opted not to move if they sprayed and which they did, we really liked the location of the room we stayed at; it was close to the pool.”

“I probably would not stay at this hotel again because it was not what I expected. Room neighbors were loud, until morning hours. Hotel location was good. Staff was friendly.”

• The room was a nice size and set up well, but we liked nothing about our stay there.
• The room smelled like mold and as well had it all over the dressing area as well as the bath.

“Nice mold smell, will never stay there again and would never recommend to anyone. The room was a nice one, but was mold infected, couldn't even get in the tub. There was a rubber mat in tub with mold all over as well as the bath door and dressing area. Left the next morning around 10:30 am and spoke with desk clerk about our room and she informed me that I was a prepay, to have a nice day. I didn't ask for a refund or credit just wanted them to know the condition of room which was totally unacceptable. Don't stay here!”

• The only thing I liked was that my room was near the front of the hotel.
• The floors were damped, and with toddlers it would be very difficult for them to crawl.

• Access to beach was alright.
• Not suitable for family. Pretty dirty in the corridors and smokers in the corridors most of the time. Did not clean the room even after request.

“This hotel is not suited for family/kids and seniors (steep stair way and no elevator). Since smoking was not allowed in the room (or additional $50 if smoked in the room) - a lot of guests were in the corridor smoking almost all day. The breakfast room was over crowded - and understaffed. No healthy breakfast available. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. But the cleaning crew did not clean the rooms the second day even after a request to the staff. The hotel corridors were dirty and other guests were BBQ in the corridors which made it difficult to walk around for the kids. The hotel claims that they have Wi-Fi - but throughout our 2 nights stay we were not able to connect to internet properly.”

• Beds were very hard.

“This was a great location in that area. Walking distance from the beach and pool with hot tub. I had one adult and 5 kids and the room was big enough for us to have 2 beds and a full size air bed. Lots of room! For the price you can not complain too much. Our shower did not work very well, frig did not work, (but they did replace after several hours. Day time staff was very nice, but night staff needs some work. Over all I think if you are not going to stay in your room very much and just need somewhere to sleep this hotel will be find, but if you are looking for a room to relax and enjoy you may want to look else where.”

• It was a very comfortable stay. The room was spacious enough for my family. The location was great.
• The operated laundry machines were kind of pricey.

• Room, big, spacious, tile flooring, all amenities and it smelt clean.
• Pool is too small.

“The hotel staff was friendly. The room was beautiful. It had a ceiling fan, frig, micro, coffee maker w/coffee, iron w/board, blow dryer, and my favorite is the tile flooring so you didn't have that musty smell of spring breakers. Oh! We asked for a non-smoking room and it was free of any smoke. ”

• How would like to be in a room where roaches were crawling on the wall and on floor and blankets.
• I had to check out of this hotel because my room was infested with roaches!

“I will never stay at this hotel again and certainly would not recommend to anyone. In speaking with management regarding their roach problem; they commented that they were aware that this room was infested with roaches. You would think that they not comment or better not rent out. It was a horrible experience! ”

• I did not like the long ramp they had for beach access.
