• The full breakfast buffet makes it all worth it.
• Old, run down. Looks about 10 years overdue for a make over.

“The location is easy to find and access. The hotel itself is in need of an update in many areas. The full free breakfast buffet is a huge value, especially if you have a family. Lack of a comfortable bed, run down and outdated in many areas of the hotel. Only for the breakfast otherwise
we would not stay there again.”

“The room was clean. Nothing spectacular, but it was what I expected it to be. The morning buffet was good. The whirlpool wasn't working and I would have liked to have used it. No hotel grounds to speak of, but location was convenient to a mall, the downtown, restaurants, and the Vanderbilt estate.”

• There is little to like about this drab, unclean hotel.
• Outdated locks on doors, filthy carpets, borderline creepy.

“The hotel is located on a busy thoroughfare that is under construction (for the past year!) Which makes is very hard to get in and out of. The room I was put in first was filthy beyond description. The carpet was so dirty it turned the bottom of my socks black. The second room was part of the "renovated" section of the hotel. It was marginally better. At least the carpet was clean. The Club House has the feel of a run down hotel that has hit hard time. The antiquated locks on the doors made me feel less than safe. Avoid if possible.”

• Overpriced for value. Unkempt grounds; felt dirty.

“We paid too much! This was far below. The bed hurt my back; it rocked, leaned and sunk. The carpet felt dirty. The towels were threadbare. The awning was torn/damaged over the rear hotel entrance we used. Few amenities, i.e., no fitness center. (They gave us a coupon to use at a y within a few miles.) We had fallen tree limbs outside our patio door which made us not want to open the curtains. Too highly rated.”

• Wireless internet connection was sporadic and very slow.

“Hotel was obviously high quality at one point but has not been maintained well; there is an air of shabbiness about the place. Wireless internet service was barely adequate, with poor signal strength and many connection problems. Free morning breakfast was appreciated, but quality was mediocre. The staff was courteous and cheerful.”

• We loved the gazebo by the pool and played cards there with relatives. Also, the hot breakfast was good.
• Grounds needed to be cared for, i.e. High grass, weeds.

“We were very satisfied with this property. The location was great, staff was very friendly, the evening reception with complimentary drinks was an added pleasure, and the complimentary hot breakfast was great. The pool area was nice and our room with a small patio overlooking the pool was good. No noise problems. Would recommend this to family and friends.”

• Relaxing happy hour.
• Check - in clerk was very bad at his job-not trained!

“Check-in clerk spent 10 minutes trying to correct a computer reservation with customer in front of us trying to resolve charges. Then it was my turn, he told me I had no room that it had been canceled. Rest of stay was pretty good, (other than the noise that the pipes made every time you flushed the toilet). But it sure started off in a very frustrating way!”

• The breakfast was good!
• The rooms were in poor condition and the bath tub needed to be cleaned!

“We were very disappointed in the rooms this time-they need to do a total clean of all the rooms and they need some talc to bring it back up to the standards of a 2-3 star hotel. The door wouldn't shut to our room and they acted like it was no big deal. I was very disappointed and won't be staying there any more.”

• The breakfast buffet was good and happy hour served two free drinks.
• The hotel was old, dirty and was nowhere near 2.5 star category.

“Outside the hotel needed much landscaping work. There was no exercise facility and the spa was dirty and very hard to find. The pool was also dirty. The cleanliness of the hotel needed improvement. When the housekeeping staff cleaned the rooms they used the latch to keep all of the rooms open. When I went through the halls there were 20 rooms I could have just walked into. Personal belongings were not safe. The breakfast buffet was good. However, they ran out of scrambled eggs and made no effort to replenish them. In the evening they offered two free drinks per person. That was very nice. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.”

“Great location just off an exit ramp to i35. Facility is older but well maintained. Easy access to major Wichita streets. Major shopping mall within two miles, and multi screen theater within a mile. Many national franchise restaurants within a five minute drive.”

• Needs updating. The hallways were dirty and ice machine and Jacuzzi were broken.

“The king size bed was hard as a rock. We ended up sleeping on the fold out couch. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I will say the breakfast was wonderful and the service was good.”

“We had a cracked ceiling with a water stain and terrible mattresses, which is the critical component of any motel/hotel stay. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and won't stay there again even if they gave us a free night. Lobby looked good, so it's deceiving.”

• The walls were thin, there were only 3 pillows on the king size bed, there was dried paint stains on the couch.

“I think I got my money's worth at this hotel as the room was pretty clean, however I would be willing to pay a little more to stay at a nicer hotel. The walls were thin so you heard lots of noise, including the traffic outside. The hotel furnishings need to be updated.”

• The location in East Wichita was good for what I wanted.
• I walked in and the reservation clerk was smoking, the place stunk from smoke and they had me wait while she searched for something she was looking for.

“I walked in to check in and the place reeked of smoke - maybe it was because the girl behind the counter was smoking. Then she asked me to wait until she was finished looking something up on Google which took 5-7 minutes. Location was good, management left a lot to be desired. Would I stay here again? Never.”

“It is a very nice and quiet place to stay, friendly staff. Ready to help anytime. I needed a new iron and got one within 10 minutes. The food is awesome!”

“I have stayed here often it is nice my only complaint is that there is no exercise equipment. However in the summer there is a public park new with a walking trail.”

• I only had to stay one night this is the poorest hotel I have stayed in many years!
• Run down, bad repairs, very poor quality beds and furnishings.

“The following is a list of items that were in very poor condition or order: bed -cheap uncomfortable-too hard! Bed frame broken! Sink faucet- broken. Electrical outlets not screwed to wall properly. Bathroom tiles in bad repair. No soap in the hotel room! TV channel changer would not select a channel, it only scrolled through all the channels.”

• The lobby was deceivingly up to date and clean.
• Everything...the room was dirty, the shower cracked, the beds were honestly concave, door handles to TV cabinet broken, the list goes on!

“This hotel was no where near 2.5 stars. The carpet was not vacuumed, the beds were visibly sagging in the middle and sleeping in them was a nightmare, the linens were old and dingy, the television cabinet was old and the handles were broken, the curtains were old and broken, the shower had a crack in it, and I don't think any of the rooms are specifically non-smoking, because the hallways smelled of smoke and there was no sign stating "no-smoking". In the morning when I went to check under the bed to make sure nothing was accidentally left, it was disgusting. Very dirty and the lining of the box springs was ripped and hanging on the ground. The weird thing is that the lobby is very pretty and clean; it's quite deceptive. Fortunately, I¿ve used you before and have had great success, but this hotel was not! Your customers put their trust in your rating system that they will (at 2.5 stars) have a clean, comfortable room and this time you let us down. It was not clean, nor was it comfortable. I hope you'll take action and change this hotel's star rating.”

• It had an excellent complimentary full hot breakfast.
• No elevators for 2nd floor rooms.

“The Clubhouse Hotel is located just of the Kansas Turnpike east Wichita exit and is convenient to activities in that part of town. U.S. 54 runs east and west and makes getting around Wichita very easy. The hotel had a great hot breakfast and 2 free drinks in the evening. The room was OK but had a slight musty odor. The room did have a microwave, fridge, and small sink; color TV and clean bathroom. There was a pool in a center courtyard, but covered at the time of our stay. Just inside one courtyard door there was a room with a hot tub, but it did not look inviting.”

• The bathroom was moldy, hair on the walls and shower curtain. Dirty, stained drapes.

“Our hotel room needed some serious cleaning and repair. The lobby and first floor are very nice and from that, you would think, all is well but not so. However, after I mentioned the mold etc., the cleaning staff came and cleaned. The room was much cleaner the second night. However, the sink was cracked, there was a rusty hole in the bottom of the tub, the drapes were ragged, the bedspreads dingy and the carpet dirty. The breakfast is excellent.”

• Evening clerk was unfriendly. Room next to outside entrance which slammed shut & also slammed into wall each time opened- no rest. Carpet dirty.

“Negative: I usually enjoy my stays at this hotel, but I did not this time. Evening clerk unfriendly, room placed by outside door that slammed shut and against the wall each time opened. No real rest was accomplished. Carpet was dirty. Bed too firm. Positive: Bathroom clean. Breakfast pleasant.”

• Right by busy highway and not set back very far.

“When we arrived at the hotel the reservation had not arrived and we had to give our credit card to them to stay. It wasn't until after 9:00 the next morning that it was finally straightened out. If we would have had to leave earlier than that it would have been a hassle to try to get the extra charges off the credit card. There was another patron who had to deal with this also.”

• Remodeled lobby, free computer use and free drink in the evening!
• Rooms could use a face lift.

“About as close as you can get to an on/off-ramp for the Kansas Turnpike. New, clean lobby clashes somewhat with the not-so-well-kept-up landscaping work. Had a little uneasy feeling about where to park--didn't know the neighborhood too well and it looked like we may have been on a questionable side of the tracks - so opted to get as close to the main road as possible. Hole in the wall where the bath faucet came out of the wall part of the face lift the room needs. Room carpet well worn, but clean. Needs new linen too. Wasn't dirty, but could use fitted sheets and better comforters. Worth the $ though and would stay there again.”
