• The room would have been great for 1 or 2 people.
• Staff never got things right - not one single thing.

“The hotel itself is nice; the staff borders on incompetent. They never could get the correct days for the reservation or the number of beds. When 3 of us showed up and got a room with one bed, they explained that the couch is counted as a bed. If that were the case, it seems they should have at least included sheets for the fold out couch. Unless you just really need the kitchen area, you're much better off going next door to the Courtyard.”

• Really nice suites.
• In the morning of my check out there were no water in the hotel.

“The hotel was great and comfortable. But some staff are not very friendly, they knew the water is going to stop, and they didn't tell us. My friend was in the middle of taking a shower.”

• Common areas were nice.
• Pool was closed. Kids jumping around on the floor above our room.

“I liked everything except that I wished I would have asked for a room on the top floor because kids were jumping around on the floor above our room. Pool was closed for the winter I guess.”

• The location was excellent. The staff was extremely helpful in every way. My family and I were extremely satisfied. The breakfast was above average!

• Staff was not friendly - felt like an imposition to check us in.

• Did not have locker service in room, Internet connection was slow.

“It is a good hotel for all travelers. However for business travelers the location of the room is important since Internet connection is not good at all location of the hotel. Their breakfast is good and wholesome, with some variety. Need locker room service inside each room. Other wise I am satisfied both with the staff as well as the hotel.”

• They offered just what we needed. A large comfortable room, an excellent breakfast and internet.
• The Jacuzzi was wimpy and when I wanted to extend my stay at the same rate, I could not do it.

“The residence inn in Brownsville, Texas offers friendly service for a very comfortable stay. It is just what you need if you are on business and family friendly for a vacation with the kids. The pool and exercise rooms are clean and inviting, but if you want to get out, it is conveniently located near the mall and other shopping centers. I highly recommend this hotel.”

• The hotel was very accommodating in moving us when our ac did not work.
• Does not apply.

“It was a very leisure experience and I would recommend it to any number of people. We especially liked the fact that the hotel facility is a non-smoking facility. We would like to see other hotel facilities follow the Marriott lead.”

• Excellent breakfast, very clean rooms.
• The tables in the breakfast area were too close together.

“Rooms were being assigned while still occupied. This happened to us at a residence inn in Beverly hills California. We unlocked our door, there were people inside. Same thing happened to people who checked in right before us in Brownsville last weekend. Also in Brownsville last weekend, our son was assigned a room that still had occupants. However this error was caught before he reached his room. Appears to be a hotel chain problem. This has never happened to us nor have we heard of it happening in any other hotel chain. It could be very embarrassing.”

• Kitchenette and sofa made the hotel room feel like home. Nice bathroom. Great breakfast buffet!
• Loud AC, whirlpool out of order, so-so hotel staff.

“This is a very family friendly hotel that exceeded our expectations. Very clean and modern. Free high speed Internet in lobby. Outstanding breakfast buffet included in price of room. Refrigerator and microwave made for great storage and heating of doggies bags from restaurants. Studio layout room was perfect for our family of three. The Belgian waffle maker was at hit at the breakfast buffet. Nice clean pool and clean rooms. Should be a three star hotel. Staff could be more aggressive in accommodating guests requests. More towels, etc. Not many drawbacks. Great value for the price. Highly recommended.”

• Terrance, the manager put my widowed mother and her friend in a fantastic room. Real treat for my Mom.

• Very nice pool and friendly front desk staff.
• Unless I tipped the maid service, they did not re-stock in entirety the toiletries and towels.

“I enjoyed my stay at the residence inn in Brownsville, TX. Although our room did not match the pictures we found online of this hotel we still enjoyed our room, especially since it had a kitchen and full refrigerator. I would definitely recommend this hotel to family or friends.”

• It was new.
• Small rooms and very hard bed.

“Very disappointed, made me go to new hotel next door and not the Residence inn. New hotel was small and the bed was extremely hard. Never had a bed that hard. Everything looked nice, but it just wasn't was I thought I was going to have. The directions were also off on the map, the correct exit isn't on there.”

• Room set up was great with all accommodations.
• Room seemed to have been laid-on, soap open and cards left on sink.

“It was a good hotel except for the bed which we were told that someone would change the sheets that night and did not. I also expect a double bed but was told they did not have a double bed. The sofa bed was where my children had to sleep. The breakfast part was excellent. When you have children this is a big plus.”

• Location was great, right off the main interstate through town.
• I had request for new pillows because ours were lumpy and the staff refused to fulfill my request.
