• Nice and comfortable.
• Could not close the curtains to be able to keep the light out so we could sleep in late Sunday morning.

“Everything was perfect except for the curtains not being able to shut closed so my husband could rest late on Sunday when he did not have to work.”

• Hotel staff is one of the best in Austin.
• I got a small cramped room.

“The access to this hotel is a bit tricky but the location is wonderful. The hotel is a bit older but the staff was extremely helpful and tried to make your stay the best possible. Watch out for the rooms on the end they are cramped.”

• The room was very clean.
• The lobby look very old, we don't like the location.

“We like our room, it was clean and had nice furniture (new), but we expect more for this price (breakfast included), we don't like the location, we expect a nice mall (we don't like the one that is nearby) The hotel looked old.”

“I had dinner in one of the hotels restaurants. In the morning I got a charge slip under my door stating my dinner was charged to my room. I was charged twice for dinner, as I did not authorize the waitress to charge my room. An unnecessary hassle to deal with in the morning when I needed to leave for a business meeting.”

• The soda machine and restaurant menu prices were great. The steak was cooked as I ordered it.
• They don't offer a wide enough variety of TV channels. The charges for room service (not menu prices) were too high.

“The hotel location was excellent, right next door to the fabulous Pappadeauxs restaurant. Breakfast from the hotel restaurant was delicious. TV channels--a bunch of news and sports, not much for the movie viewer.”

• Very spacious room. Elegant decor, nice thick towels and comfortable bed.
• Water pressure very poor.

• It can be a bit tricky to get to Austin traffic is terrible!

• Air conditioner worked fine.
• First night my room smelled like socks left in a football locker over the weekend.

“The hotel did not meet the three star levels. My room stunk like dirty socks and the noise level from the freeway below kept me from sleeping half the night. The room was small and the bathroom almost too small to turn around in. The shower/tub was extremely slippery with no slip resistant pads. The hotel did provide however good shampoo/lotion/conditioner, hairdryer and iron. The bed and linens appeared to be clean, also while not a 3 star it wasn't a 1 star either.”

• My girlfriend loved the king-size bed.
• Noise at 4 am.

“The hotel is great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The one negative was the amount of "people noise" at 4 am. I'm not used to waking up that early and that was annoying, but overall the hotel is a great place to stay.”

• Bad part of town. Old hotel with a makeover. Not a 3-star.

“The Crowne Plaza has been refurbished, but this does not hide the age and wear on the hotel. The location is in a bad part of Austin, so it is not good for families. Ok for business travelers. I would give it a 2* rating.”

• The room included a small fridge great for storing leftovers after dining out.
• The hotel was noisy and the lobby was very crowded during check-in hour due to a lack of employees at the front desk.

“My overall experience was not satisfactory. I called ahead to see if I could check in half an hour early and was told it wouldn't be a problem. Upon arriving at the hotel half an hour early, I was told that all double bed rooms were not yet clean. I asked if I could stay in a single bed room instead and was told those were not clean yet either. Thirty minutes later, I arrived back at the hotel and all rooms were magically clean. I waited in a long check-in line and was given my key only to find that the room I was given already had guests in it. After lugging my bags back to the front deck, I was given another room. The room was decent. The noise level was loud due to a soccer tournament. Overall poor experience.”

• They placed me by an exit, and I heard doors slamming all night.

“For the price, they did a good job on the renovations. Very comfortable beds and a pleasant staff. I enjoyed the bar food and all flat screens.”

• Huge rooms and wonderfully comfortable beds.
• Upon arrival, our room had no coffee pot, cups, glasses, TV. Remote or washrags. Took 3 housekeeping calls to remedy the situation.

“This is an older, quite hotel (originally a Marriott) with super huge rooms and wonderfully comfortable beds. Our room was initially ill-equipped (no coffee pot, coffee cups, water glasses, television remote control, or washrags, but the housekeeping staff promptly responded to our requests to supply these items. Despite its shortcomings, I would stay there again.”

• The Coffee.
• The construction right outside my window until 8pm the curly small dark hairs on the bed comforter.

“Never again will I go to Crowne Plaza. When I checked in I told the clerk I had been driving for 5 hr. straight and couldn't wait to take a cat nap and She put me in a room where there was literally construction right outside my window that was really noisy until 8pm. I normally would have the curtains open enjoying the city view but all I could see was working scaffolds. (The thing they use to clean windows in larger buildings) Plus the bathroom was small and very uncomfortable the tub was scratched up on the bottom. When you sat on the toilet your knees stuck out half way passed the door. The worst part of the room was the five small curly dark pubic looking hairs on top of the white bed comforter. (I have natural very long blond hair).Plus my TV had a list of 5 or 6 channels that didn't have a picture only sound. So you can clearly see why I was not happy. (the front desk gave me a coupon for a comp breakfast for my troubles Funny all I want was a clean quiet comfortable room and that has nothing to do with breakfast).”

• Staff tried hard to accommodate us.
• Food over priced. Not chain on door. My toddler slipped out of the room and we didn¿t notice. Room on east side too bright in morning with shades close

“They gave me a double bed when I bought a king. Staff was very professional. My TV was not connected to the wall. For the price, they should include some free breakfast. No microwave in room, not that something said there was going to be, but it would have been nice. They are remodeling the outside and they should have started work on fixing up the rooms first. I was mostly disappoint in the bed, but the hotel moved me to a king size the next day. Overall not too bad, but room for improvement.”

• When I walked into the main lobby I was immediately greeted and welcomed! The service was very prompt.
• The bathroom was not as nice as the rest of the room.

“We enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel! We had a good nights sleep and were able to walk down the hall in the morning for the Monster.com job fair. The service was wonderful and the breakfast area was nice. We would stay here again because it is located near all the big attractions in Austin, TX.”

“The best thing about this hotel was the location. Unfortunately, that was the only redeeming quality. Our sink had to be repaired, due to a leak. The customer service was extremely unsatisfactory. The restaurant does not follow its posted hours. Given the star level and price paid, Motel 6 would have been a superior choice.”

• After having a problem with the furniture the staff quickly moved us to another room and comped our breakfast.
• Currently being remodeled. The remodeling isn't as nice.

• The lighting in the room was good.
• The bathrooms were dirty and outdated.

“The hotel is under renovation, so the restaurant was closed and there were workmen every. The bathtub in my room was permanently stained brown and mildew was along the grout lines. ”

• Rooms have been redone and are very nice.
• They do not have enough desk help for check-in or out and there is no hot water.

“After standing in line for a long time, the young lady at the desk was very nice and efficient. (They need more desk help, she was all alone) there was no hot water for showers in the morning, and again no help at the desk, and long check out lines. The manager even came and picked up the phone, but didn't stay to elevate the line. (Go figure) the desk folks were very nice and friendly, but there were just not enough of them.”

• I believe the gentleman at the desk, I think his name was Bill was super helpful.
• The only thing was, We arrived early and they we would have a room in 2 hrs, it took 4hrs.

“Although # 14was not cool, they gave men a free breakfast for my client and me. No questions were asked and they did not try to find out who was to blame in front of me. Very professional considering the circumstances.”

• This hotel had a great location. The rooms were okay.
• Hot water not hot. Bathtub disgusting. Air-conditioning loud and inconsistent. Renovation going on.

“The staff was very nice. The room was very nice except for the bathroom. It needed updating and the bathtub was disgusting like they had pulled up something which left a sticky mess behind. The air conditioning was loud and inconsistent and the hot water was only hot first thing in the morning. The hotel did appear to be under renovation. So, that might explain some of these issues. The living area for the most part was very nice and comfortable. The location was nice with easy access on and off the main highway. There were very nice restaurants within walking distance. Overall, my experience was O.K.”

• Staff was exceptionally friendly.
• There were a few basic amenities missing.

“I had stayed at this hotel previously when it was under other management and had a terrible stay. The Crown Plaza change has been for the better. The rooms were tastefully decorated, and the staff has obviously been well trained to be courteous and attentive. My only complaints were the actual location. It is very difficult to get in and out during peak traffic times. I was also slightly disturbed that there were no trash cans in the bathroom.”
