• The staff was polite, helpful and just plain awesome!
• Access from the highway is a little tricky.

“What a gem of a hotel this is. I can't remember the last time I received service and attentiveness from a hotel in this star category. They were polite, helpful, even sent a repair man to my room when I couldn't figure out how to get the high-speed running. I highly recommend!”

• Price, beds comfortable, clean, and friendly staff.
• Internet was very slow, bathtub leaking, very noisy party outside our room.

“This is a second stay and the beds are clean and comfortable. Ask for an outside room. The party facilities are right outside your big window if you have an inside room and the sound system was very noisy. The bathtub faucet ran steadily and then was turned off by maintenance so tightly that we had difficulty turning it back on for showers the next morning.”

• The front desk staff were pleasant and efficient. Nice clean room.
• Quincinera in ballroom. Music was a bit loud but not for too late.

“The property was really nice and well kept. My son enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool. Felt safe and it was really close to the Austin Steamtrain we had ridden on that day. Great for the price. We will return.”

• The rooms were very nice and spacious. The staff was great. The bar/restaurant was very nice, room service was also available.
• The location made it difficult to travel to and from hotel while out and about in Austin.

“Nice rooms. Room service was available but over priced (but where isn't it). Great internet connection. Pool was indoors, surrounded by dining area, but was very nice. Location is tricky to come and go easily but there are some backroads (neighborhoods) you can cut through. Very friendly and helpful staff. The pro's definitely out weigh the con's.”

• Beautiful! Very friendly staff. Comfortable. Great breakfast!
• Hard to get to and from. Indoor pool needed to be heated. Mini fridge not working right.

“Thought hotel was nice, seemed recently redone. Hot tub and indoor pool was in good condition. Towels readily available by pool. Our room was very noisy location by the elevator and ice machine.”

“This was a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It's one of the better Holiday Inn's that I've stayed in. The Customer Service was top notch. The staff was very courteous. They have plenty of free parking.”

• The location was great; room attractive and comfortable.
• There was no hot water for more than 24 hours!

“The hotel is located in NW Austin and is near many restaurants and lots of shopping. It is fairly hard to get to the hotel from the two highways (MoPac and 183) that intersect near the hotel. The rooms are pleasant, attractive and comfortable. We did have one problem, however. There was no hot water for approximately the first 24 hours that we were at the hotel. That was very inconvenient. However, when we checked out, the manager was pleasant about it and gave us enough Priority Club points for a free stay at a Holiday Inn in the future. So, the hot water problem was resolved to our satisfaction. We would probably stay here again.”

• The layout of the hotel on the inside was real nice and very quiet.
• I didn't like how you had to get to the hotel little confusing if didn't know the area very well.

“I loved my stay but the only thing that I didn't like was that when the hotel ran my card for incidentals, they had a half of my funds in my banking account little longer than I liked I stayed a Saturday night and it was almost Friday for they released the hold on my account. This caused a little financial stress on my part, other than that the staff and the hotel was great.”

• The pool was great.
• We only got a king size bed and there's five of us.

“I also thought the staff was a little insensitive since we were evacuees with a dog. Small well behaved dog. They normally didn't allow pets but because of the circumstances they would allow them with a non-refundable deposit.”

• Recently remodeled rooms.
• Air Conditioning is noisy.

“I have stayed at this hotel in the past and have enjoyed the stay, although the location is a bit hard to get to. I was surprised when I got off on the 3rd floor and found that the rooms had recently ( within the month ) been remodeled. Nice, nice job! New beds which were comfortable and well, it was just a good experience. If there was a downside, the air conditioning was a bit louder than expected.”

• Comfortable bedding, clean, beautiful lobby with water features, close to Lake Travis.
• No restaurant for lunch or dinner in the hotel only the sports bar and the breakfast buffet was very expensive. Our room did not have a refrigerator.

• Rooms were clean and tidy.
• AC in the room was inordinately loud. Construction was being done at the hotel.

“This is definitely not a 3 star hotel. A 2 star or less would have been more appropriate. Waking up to the sound of drills and hammers is not a pleasant experience. Will not return to this hotel.”

• The room was very clean.
• Fire alarms set on by someone, loud music until 10:00 due to wedding did not bring coffee requested.

“This hotel is in a bad location, we passed twice on two occasions. Still renovating, requested extra coffee and promised it would be sent to room and never showed up. The fire alarms were set on twice, music from a wedding was very loud. I am easy to please, but I would not want this hotel again.”

• I liked the fact that it is being updated with modern furniture and wall hangings.
• Access to this hotel is poor and the walls are very thin.

“This hotel is being remodeled. The room we stayed in was partially remodeled. The updated furniture and wall hangings were nice. Access to the hotel is poor and potentially dangerous. The primary route requires that you quickly leave the feeder road to cross over a lane merging onto the feeder road. The walls are also very thin.”

• One of our parties picked up a tick at the hotel.

“It was an okay hotel. The location is difficult to get to and the cooks did not show up for breakfast, which made things very slow. They did comp us all of the children's buffets, but we were not encouraged to order from the menu, only to go to the buffet.”

• Aesthetically pleasing inside atrium.
• Poor or no AC, hard beds, thin walls with too much noise, poor customer service to help with issues.

“Staff is courteous, yet not very helpful. Managers failed to respond to complaints about no AC, unacceptable hardness to bed, noise, etc. Follow-up calls were met with courtesy, but representatives failed to do what they said they were going to do, leaving me with repeated calls at my expense with no resolution. Rooms were outdated, marks on walls, aged fixtures, etc.”

• Great sports bar.
• Hard to get to seems like it needs some renovation. The water pressure in my room was so low the shower barely dribbled.

“This is an older hotel that I have stayed in before. Nothing wonderful, nothing horrible. It is in a weird location that is a little difficult to get to even if you know your way around but for the price in this area of Austin it was adequate. I would stay here again but it would not be my first choice. I think they really need to renovate in order to be on par with the other hotels in the area.”

• The room was dirty, black fungus on ceiling, hotel smelled.

• Very uncomfortable mattress, spotty paint job, scratchy sheets, very difficult to get to and from hotel.

“I stayed on the 4th floor with my husband two months earlier, and that room was much nicer than my third floor room during this trip. 4th floor must have new mattresses and new decor, furniture, A/C, etc. This room for this trip was clean, but much shabbier and uncomfortable. A/C was very loud. Spider crawled across my pillow. I don't think I will stay here again.”

• The location.
• Black marker to cover up flaws on furniture, stains on carpet, mold on ceiling, shower doesn't drain, wall are stained.

“This hotel needs a complete make over to be considered a 3 star hotel. We stayed at the Renaissance and that was a 3 star if not it needs a higher rating. We didn't enjoy Holiday Inn not for business or a family vacation. Even Motel 6 went under renovations.”

• The front of the house staff was nice.
• The front of the house staff was unable to get us a non-smoking room.

“Our room was terrible. It smelled as if people had been smoking in there for 40 years. We spent no time in the hotel areas. Indoor pool nice, but not our thing. I burned my lip on over microwave appetizer at the bar. Bar was crowded and understaffed. Hotel location was good for being close to Downtown, but far enough away to do some hiking.”
