• The front of the house staff was nice.
• The front of the house staff was unable to get us a non-smoking room.

“Our room was terrible. It smelled as if people had been smoking in there for 40 years. We spent no time in the hotel areas. Indoor pool nice, but not our thing. I burned my lip on over microwave appetizer at the bar. Bar was crowded and understaffed. Hotel location was good for being close to Downtown, but far enough away to do some hiking.”

• It was rather quiet and out of the way.
• The furniture in the lobby is old, stained and cushions are rump sprung!

“The hotel staff was very helpful and cheerful. When I called for directions the receptions acted excited like she was expecting family! It was a nice feeling to be so welcomed.”

• That Holiday Inn do not treat their customers right.

• The common areas were nice.
• The staff was rude and very unhelpful. The room was not worth the price.

• Entrance was too difficult to locate.

• Staff was friendly.
• Hotel is not well maintained, very small pillows no beds.

“This hotel was overpriced and not well maintained. The pillows on the King size beds were "bite size". Bar and Grille was very overpriced and the food was ok at best. Breakfast buffet food was cold. Had a smoking room, but; the room had a very stall smell, no ventilation in the bathroom, nor in the rooms. Not able to open curtains on first floor because window looks into the commons area and dinning room overflow. Not able to open windows for fresh air. Will not stay in this Holiday Inn again.”

• Very friendly staff attentive to any needs.
• Restaurant if you had 6 people they charged you 15% extra I don't understand this.

“Nice clean lobby with a good pool which was both indoor and out room was adequate but the sofa chair could have been more comfy but not a big deal. They were very good with giving maps and instructions to any place you wanted to go. I would stay there again.”

• This hotel was very convenient to shopping.
• The beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

“The hotel was in need of remodeling. The bed linens were in good condition; however, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. There was trash left in the parking area that was there the entire time we were there.”

• Indoor pool.
• We did not feel at liberty to enjoy the indoor pool due to a wedding reception in the area.

“The facility appears to be in an upgrading mode. Some details still need attention - i.e. Dusty trim at carpet. The location is good; however actual access is a bit tricky, being located on access roads of a major intersection.”

• The location is hard to get to and the hotel smelled bad.

“This hotel is located in an awkward spot just off the highway that makes it near impossible to reach. The hotel staff is friendly. This hotel would not be a first choice for future stays in Austin.”

• It was clean but wasn't anything that we would want to go back to.
• No help with luggage. Service help was "bland".

“It was okay The location was a bit hard to get to. Not really in the Arboretum, but on the outskirts. Clean. I wouldn't want to stay there again when there are nicer 3.5 star hotels in the area.”

• The food at legends was bad, cold bacon, water eggs.

“I've stayed at the hotel numerous times. I have always been please. My last visit, however, we went to the restaurant (legends?) For the first time. It will be my last. I ordered bacon with my pancakes. They clearly had been prepared with the buffet, and not specifically with my order, because they were cold as soon as they were brought out. The food at the buffet was also cold, which probably violated numerous health codes in Austin. Hopefully nobody got seriously ill.”

• Although it was a nice hotel, I don't think it should be classified as a 3 star.

• The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
• Small sink/counter space and small mold stains in the shower.

“Overall, it was a wonderful hotel. It was very quiet during the week. The staff was willing to go out of their way to meet needs or answer any questions. The bed was comfortable and had lots of pillows to use. Beautiful set up; I loved the fountains which created a peaceful atmosphere.”

“From check in to check out all services were excellent. Room and bathroom were very clean and had new and clean fixtures. Extra care was given in arranging the towels, and face towels. All was appreciated.”

• The cleanliness of the room was excellent.
• The beds were a bit uncomfortable.

“I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's appearance. It was clean, well kept, and the interior looked relatively new. The only downside to our stay at this hotel was the uncomfortable bed. It was a bit 'springy' and not soft enough.”

• Brought in rollaway bed right away. Staff was very nice.
• Bathroom walls had cracks and was moldy. Bathroom needs updating.

“Bed was comfortable and staff was very accommodating. There were not enough towels and we had to ask for more. Location is very quiet in a residential area but not very convenient for eating and for getting downtown. We did not eat in the restaurants so I cannot comment on the food.”

“A friend of mine and I went down for the UT football game and stayed over the weekend. The staff was very friendly and the hotel and rooms were very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Nice location away from I 35. Right on mopac (loop 1) which makes it convenient to reach downtown and other areas of Austin. Our room had a pool view (very nice pool, indoor and outdoor) and people were swimming and we could not hear them from our room. Excellent hotel.”

• The room and staff were exceptional.
• No amenities. Bed not the most comfortable. Do not really like shampoo/conditioner combination/ wish had more towels.

“From the time I called and requested a non smoking room with a single bed the staff was extremely accommodating. They even gave us a room with a microwave and refrigerator. I would definitely recommend this hotel.”

“This hotel had a nice location to get to places, but there was not much right around it. Our room was clean and fine, but no little amenities like shower caps etc. Which I would expect from a *** hotel. I assume I could call the desk and have them bring me one, but did not want to wait. Also, since there was nothing within walking distance, it would have been nice to at least have a continental breakfast offered. The staff was wonderful!”

“This hotel by no means is even close to a 3 star. This place was a dump with rude and uncaring employees. The carpet is filthy; the bed was somewhat like what Fred Flintstone slept on. The mold growing on the tiles above the sink in my room reflected a previous water leak that hasn't been fixed. The hotel staff was rude and condescending when these items were reported. The bed was the most uncomfortable POS I have ever tried to sleep on. The pool closed early on the weekend and wouldn't allow the kids to swim. The restaurant gave the kids a pitiful breakfast buffet of $10 each for a bowl of cereal, cold eggs and a piece of rotten fruit. Stay at this dump at your own risk!”

• Liked the open atrium atmosphere in public space.
• Hard to get to off the highways if you are coming from some directions.

“Rooms are average size and luxury for a 3 star hotel but very clean. The microwave and refrigerator in the room are a very nice touch. The staff was extremely friendly. It's just a little awkward to get to from the highways, particularly MOPAC North and 183 North. All in all a very pleasant stay.”
