• The room was very quiet facing the interior of the hotel.
• The air conditioning did not work very well.

“We were upgraded to a junior suite, and it was very spacious and clean. The shower was great and there was a jacuzzi tub. The bed was comfortable with large pillows. The room was extremely quiet, since our room was facing the interior of the hotel lobby. Since the lobby is all glass, we had a view of the Capitol. It was very beautiful. The only problem was the AC did not cool the room very well, but it was not hot outside so it was bearable.”

• The hotel itself had a very convenient location and was beautiful.
• I was not informed of a parking charge but had to pay $18 a night & they would not take care of the parking even though I was never told that.

“The hotel was very nice with a great location in the heart of Downtown Austin. I was never told that there would be a charge for parking, I needed to just "swipe in and swipe out." Then I was charged $36 for two nights to park plus taxes and a service fee. I was extremely unhappy to be billed for something that was said to be posted in the garage. The garage holds both the hotel guests as well as business persons and visitors so the rates were unclear regarding hotel guests vs. the business portion of the hotel. Nonetheless I was made to pay for parking and left with a sour taste in my mouth. I enjoyed the hotel but not my checkout and closing experience.”

• Staff was very helpful and professional.
• The room was very outdated - certainly not a 4-star.

“The hotel staff was very professional. The public areas were very nice. However, when we got off the elevator to the room, I felt like I was in a different hotel. The carpet was badly stained and the room certainly didn't reflect the overall quality of the hotel. If you were to just rate the room, I feel it would be 2.0 to 2.5 at best.”

• The staff was very friendly and the hotel very commendable.

“The hotel atmosphere was very inviting. The staff there went above and beyond. My husband and I were there for both business and pleasure in that I had a business meeting to attend to, but I was also able to take my husband since it was our anniversary. They helped us pick a nice restaurant for dinner, and even surprised us when we returned with a complimentary platter of fruit, cheese and wine. Everyone was very nice.”

• Close to UT.
• Too loud, next to 6th street. Rooms bland, expected more out of a 4 star.

• The lobby and the hotel attendants were nice and helpful.
• The room that we got was not at all like the pictures on line and were in disrepair.

“When we got the we asked if they had smoking rooms the desk person said of course, we got into our room and it looked as though we had stepped back into the 1980's! We did not complain because we had plans that we wanted to go to right away, but if they are going to offer smoking rooms to customers they need to offer the same looking room that they offer to non-smokers. Smokers should not be punished.”

• Close to 6th street, staff was professional and very friendly.

“Would recommend this hotel to friends. The staff made us feel welcome and eager to please. The room was up to date, clean and cozy. Housekeeping was excellent. Short walk to many places downtown. The only real downer was the pool, and having to pay for $19/day for parking.”

• This is a great quality hotel at a reasonable price.

• Very attractive facilities.
• Room faced 6th Street (Entertainment district) and was so loud I had hard time sleeping.

“Hotel is very elegant, comfy, and conveniently located for downtown business. Everything was perfect except that my room was angled towards the 6th Street entertainment district, and even on a Tuesday night, the thumping music was so loud I had a hard time sleeping, and I can sleep through anything. Room and bed was comfortable, it was just the noise and I was on the 12th floor.”

• 50 dollar charge per day for incidentals.

“Overall nice stay. Clean, comfortable and great linens and beds. Was able to park on the street during the weekend as meters were not in operation on the weekends. Saved on parking this way. Able to walk to restaurants. Super convenient to UT, capital, highway access and airport. Would stay again at this hotel.”

• Clean and comfortable.
• Service. Long wait for staff to deliver towels.

“Clean and comfortable hotel. Easy access to freeway, dining and nightlife. However, I could easily hear the conversation of the room next to mine. Additionally, after I finished showering I quickly realized I had no large towels. I had to use a bathrobe to towel off. In order to get towels I had to make two phone calls and wait twenty minutes.”

• Nice spacious rooms and
  location.

“My wife and I stayed at this hotel in early February 2009 and had a fantastic time. This was a romantic getaway because my parents had agreed to watch our four year old for the weekend. The best part about this hotel is definitely its location. Just a block from sixth street, one need not bother catching a cab back to their hotel. Austin is the weirdest and my favorite city in Texas and even the hotel staff reflected this unique identity. Definitely would stay at this hotel again.”

“The rooms were spacious and well decorated. The beds were plush and very comfortable. All amenities were wonderful including the robes in the closet. Free internet access was wonderful and the staff were excellent. Great view of downtown Austin and 6th Street.”

• Hotel was nice and quiet. Room was immaculate.
• Hotel surcharges for various items were ridiculous. Most hotels offer free Wi-Fi, Omni did not.

“The staff at the Omni were pleasant and very helpful in every way. The hotel room was immaculately clean and fresh, and quiet, as well. My only complaint is that the Omni will nickel & dime you to death on various services such as parking, and in-room Wi-Fi, for which they charge $9.99/day. Mid-range hotels such as Hampton, etc., offer this service for free.”

• I liked the location and the lobby area and professional staff.
• Not worth the money, and the parking way to expensive, they should charge per stay not per night.

“The hotel was nice, parking very expensive, $25 per day for valet and the other parking $16 per day. They should charge parking per stay not per day. The non-renovated rooms were horrible, bed was very uncomfortable, bathroom - hotel 6 had better. Old cabinets with scratched off paint, very tall bathtub hard to get in and tiny space. The hallway carpet was stained and a mess. Last time I stayed on floor 14 in the renovated rooms and felt like I was in heaven. Beautiful beds nice mattresses, gorgeous bathroom with large shower for two, marble and what not. So it was very disappointing to me when I arrived.”
