“The hotel was wonderful. Everyone was nice and friendly. Nice room, the bed was nice and clean.” Oct 16, 2008 by

“Liked the location and the common areas but my room absolutely stank. Oct 2, 2008 by

“The rooms here are simple but clean and relatively quiet. It was nice to have a refrigerator. The lobby and other general areas were very nice. The attached restaurant always had great music and really good food and drinks - an unbelievably kind and happy staff. The front desk was overwhelmingly helpful except for a one who treated us poorly because we asked for a taxi. This is the scoop: we had called earlier to get an estimate for how long a taxi would take to come get us and were told 15-20 minutes is normal. So when we went down to the front desk we were told that he was told 2 - 2.5 hours and he was very curt and rude about it. But, he was the only person there who wasn't terrific. The only other two complaints I had was that there were no clean pool towels and hours after telling this to the front desk, there still were no clean pool towels. Finally, the one vending machine ran out of simple things like bottled water.” Sep 9, 2008 by

“Nicely maintained, clean rooms. Evident that an effort was made to update decor in last couple of years. Firm, yet comfy bed. Very accessible for young family with stroller, luggage cart. Enjoyed time around the pool - lots of seating, lounging and umbrellas. Pool had three different depths so accommodated diverse groups using at the same time. Continental breakfast included, but missed it due to sleeping in after full day of touring all the great sights that were within a 10 minute drive of hotel.” Aug 21, 2008 by

“It would be better if they remodeled the rooms and put in new Televisions. The current TV and room design was very dated.” Aug 2, 2008 by
Celeste from Pasadena, TX
“Everyone was very helpful and friendly. It was very clean and the rooms were great. Downside is the exercise room had 3 machines and one didn't work and the other 2 were 20 yrs old or more. We could not rent movies either no control device in our room.” May 29, 2008 by
Paul from Austin, TX
“Great room with pleasant amenities. Hotel was quieter than I expected despite it's location near a very busy freeway. The staff was a really welcome surprise. Friendly and engaging, they really seemed concerned with my comfort. I would stay here again.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Ken from Friendswood, TX
“Very nice staff that was fast and efficient.” Feb 27, 2008 by
Jaime from Irving, TX
“I stayed here because it's so close to St Edwards. North side parking was really bad because some company decided to park all its large service trucks on that side (electricty company it looked like). Also there was a homeless man sitting in a chair on the north side the entire time I stayed. Made me worried he was scoping out cars to break into. My cable TV didn't work in the 1st room I was put into. However, staff was very friendly and moved me quickly into a similar room next door with a working TV. I also lost a belt that staff helped me look for. I liked the wireless internet too.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Stephanie from Maypearl, TX
“We enjoyed our stay at Clarion. The room was very clean and comfortable, and if the weather was nicer the pool would have been great as well.” Nov 22, 2007 by
Jesse from Farmers Branch, TX
“In general it had the basic necessities. The microwave was older than dirt as was the fridge, yet having those included was a quasi plus. The front of the hotel was amazing and the lobby beautiful but once they put you drove around to the back where they put us; you were kind of yikes because it wasn't that attractive.” Nov 14, 2007 by
Jaime from Irving, TX
“The hotel looks nice but it smells like an old hotel. I couldn't take the musty smell in the elevator so I used the stairs. I only chose it because it was close to st. Edward's.” Nov 14, 2007 by
Julia from Dallas, TX
“This hotel is just off of 35 near the Travis heights, capital/downtown part of Austin. The interstate noise is not noticeable. The area felt very safe. The hotels location makes it very central for activities all around Austin. The room is a typical hotel room with great beds and linens! In room fridge, microwave and coffee pot make it easy for traveling families. A good value for a typical hotel.” Oct 30, 2007 by
Rush from Tequesta, FL
“Great location if you have a car. Just outside of Austin. New beds and sheets made stay comfortable.” Sep 20, 2007 by
Shannon from Argyle, TX
“We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and the size of the rooms. We were a bit concerned with the area around the hotel but the staff assured us that they have had no problems. We enjoyed our stay very much and the breakfast was pretty good. The beds and pillows were very comfortable unlike some hotels I have stayed in where I woke up with pain in my back. We will definitely stay there again.” Jul 30, 2007 by
Kelly from Fort Worth, TX
“Definitely an economy hotel. You could stay somewhere in better condition for the same price. We got there at 4:30 when the check-in was at two, and they had to call around to find out which ones were available. It was pretty clean and the air conditioner worked well. It was only a one night stay.” Jul 22, 2007 by
Sandra from Katy, TX
“Good location, excellent restaurant; continental breakfast was OK.” Jun 25, 2007 by
Louis from Cleburne, TX
“This hotel has a great location to downtown and south Austin. It is a older hotel that has been very accommodating and has been kept up very well.” Mar 24, 2007 by
Jessica from Bethlehem, PA
“The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were kept tidy.” Mar 20, 2007 by
Marc from Corpus Christi, TX
“Overall it was an average place. Just what you would expect from a 2 star hotel. The room had a musty smell, but was clean. The construction work was only minor. There was a free breakfast with quite a few items to select from, a free newspaper, and a place in the lobby to sit and eat. The location of the hotel was very good for people visiting the downtown area. ” Sep 13, 2006 by
Matt from Beavercreek, OH
“Too far south of Austin to walk downtown. Fairly clean room but the staff was extremely unfriendly.”
