“Elegant decor and friendly service.” Oct 24, 2009 by
Rhoda from Schenectady,NY
“The accommodations were very roomy. The staff was extremely helpful.” Sep 21, 2009 by
Jake from Frisco,TX
“A great place to stay in Austin. The value that you received for the price paid was wonderful.” Sep 16, 2009 by
Steve from Hamden,CT
“Bed had bed bugs. Manager waived incidentals but not entire stay and did not seem too concerned about the rash I had broken out into.” Sep 4, 2009 by
Holli from Ft. Walton Bch,FL
“Lovely hotel with very friendly staff.” Aug 24, 2009 by
Pamela from Wichita Falls,TX
“Beautiful hotel in downtown Austin. Blocks from 6th street and the Capitol. We walked everywhere and didn't drive at all.” Jul 10, 2009 by
Mark from Laredo,TX
“I recommend this hotel. It is a very comfortable place to stay.” Jun 30, 2009 by
Tiffany from Spring,TX
“This is a really nice hotel a few blocks from 6th street but without all of the rowdy activities after 2 am. They offer a shuttle until 10pm which was very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.” May 14, 2009 by
Theo from Bellaire,TX
“It seemed like a super deal at first, but after racking up additional charges for WiFi access and the parking garage, my feeling about this hotel being a deal quickly evaporated. Then again, not everyone uses WiFi, nor does everyone use the parking garage (but a lot of us Texas residents do!).” May 13, 2009 by
Sandra from Houston,TX
“Service is great, location is too, rooms are outdated, but clean. The only concern I have is the thin walls and balcony to the street let in so much noise. I heard partiers in the hotel and on the street until at least 4 AM one night. Also, 6 fire trucks must have driven by with their sirens on. I've stayed there before without incident, but this experience will definitely make me think twice about it in the future.” May 11, 2009 by
Gary from Stilwell,KS
“The suite was clean and comfortable. The pool was a nice place to relax and there were always plenty of fresh towels available. It was very conveniently located in Austin. We would definitely stay there again. The only downside to the hotel is the $15 per day lug for parking in the underground garage. Parking is extremely tight and maneuvering the turns is difficult even for small cars. But with only short term parking meters available on the streets, you have no viable alternatives.” May 7, 2009 by
Bre from Cypress,TX
“In town for one night and loved our stay at this hotel. Very convenient to downtown venues. Friendly staff had great suggestions for dinner/entertainment.” Apr 15, 2009 by
Angelique from Portland,OR
“This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The suites were huge: living room with couch that converted to a bed, dining room, full kitchen including full-size fridge, oven, and microwave, large bedroom with bathroom. It had a large flat screen TV in both the bedroom and living room. It was very tastefully appointed, very lovely, and everything was very new and clean. They stocked a wide array of Neutrogena products. And the service! I counted 7 people that were very helpful during my stay, they really went above and beyond.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Claire from Houston,TX
“Huge room, great views, friendly staff, Mar 15, 2009 by
Ray from Beaumont,TX
“Great location for visiting the capitol. Our room was very poorly lit, especially the restroom. I guess there is a law that mandates the low watt bulbs? The parking at the hotel was a problem, since we have a large vehicle, we couldn't use the garage and had to use valet parking at $30/day.” Mar 14, 2009 by
from Russell,NY
“A fine place to stay. The size of the space you get, like a small apartment and the cleanliness makes up for the slightly played out furniture.” Feb 17, 2009 by
Nick from San Bruno,CA
“The overall quality of the hotel is nice. The hot tub was a plus. The room was huge. My biggest problem is that they charge for internet access. $10/day may not seem like much, but that's extra. Also, they charge for hotel parking. Street parking is free overnight.” Feb 11, 2009 by
Alice from Dallas,TX
“Fantastic amenities: Huge suite, two flat-screen TVs, a kitchenette, a balcony, and a large bathroom. Horrible beds. They were so rock-hard that I couldn't get more than 4 hours of sleep a night - even the second night, when I was exhausted! Parking was difficult. They charged us $15/day, and the garage was so tiny, we almost couldn't find a spot. Rude front desk staff. The hotel charges you for wireless internet use (cheap!), so we called the front desk to see if they could give us directions to a local restaurant we had picked. The woman who answered the phone refused to do so, saying she didn't know where it was and could not look it up for us.” Jan 28, 2009 by
John from Plano,TX
“I loved this hotel! I had a large room including a kitchen, living room, and a bedroom with two flat screen TV's! An older building, however it was very clean and comfortable. Only problem was noise coming from upstairs throughout the morning. Staff was excellent! Great location, relatively close to downtown without being too close to the noise on 6th street.” Jan 7, 2009 by
Brian from Olympia,WA
“A working air conditioning system would be nice. My door of my refrigerator would not close. The toilet stopped up. The guy who came to fix it took all of my towels. What is up with no creamer for the coffee. It seems like they are about to go out of business. Little stuff that added up” Oct 21, 2008 by
Aimee
“I was pleased with the room, but the parking garage was very tight and my pickup truck would not fit. I had to find other parking, which was easy on the weekend, but would have been complicated during the week.” Sep 15, 2008 by
Geoff
“Overall for the price and the size of the room (it was a suite), I really could not ask for, or expect, anything more. There are some things that need to be updated about the hotel, but other than that, it was an enjoyable, safe and convenient experience.

Kim from Justin, TX
“This hotel is beautiful. Our room was lovely & included a convenient kitchenette. The warm cookies we received at check in was a nice treat. We have stayed in this hotel a few times before, but this is the first time we have dined in the restaurant on site. The 15th street cafe provided a varied menu. My salmon was the best that I have ever eaten. My husband's sirloin salad was also very good. We will most certainly stay in this hotel again.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Amy from Richardson, TX
“We really loved the room and took advantage of the location. We were able to walk to the State Capitol.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Wayne from Killeen, TX
“Over all my hotel stay was pleasurable. I like the fact that the room was a suite. However, I do not think that the hotel should charge for wireless internet service. I have stayed in a lesser hotel in which the internet service was free.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Irene
“The room was large and the bed comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I did not have a car but if I did the hotel had a parking facility although I do think there is a charge but overall the stay was excellent and I recommend this hotel.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Tomika from Cibolo, TX
“Great stay! It was just perfect for an anniversary get-a-way!” Sep 4, 2008 by
Patty from Galveston, TX
“Convenient location to Capitol and University of Texas, upgraded kitchen and a wide selection of Neutrogena soaps and lotions are big pluses to this hotel.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Kirsten from Longview, TX
“Great location in Austin, and a nice Hilton hotel. A beautiful view of the capitol.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Susan from Houston, TX
“Nice for the price. Good location, helpful staff.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Chad from Brantford, ON CA
“The hotel was in a great location close to the University. No free internet in the rooms.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Jeanette from Ovilla, TX
“Hotel has a lot to offer.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Courtney P. from Deer Park, TX
“This hotel is located near the capital and University. The clean and inviting atmosphere made me feel safe on a trip alone.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Christopher from Dallas, TX
“Great value! Friendly staff with well done, clean, and roomy suites. Great location. Didn't check out the pool but should have. Parking should be free but it was $12 + tax per day. Small problems like clock not set right & light bulb burnt out.” Aug 29, 2008 by
Dewayne D. from Hewitt, TX
“Check in was very easy. Room was a 2-room suite consisting of a living room with a (sleeper?) sofa and a bedroom with double beds which were very comfy. Hi-def TV in both rooms. Small kitchenette was ample. Large bathroom. Hotel restaurant was awesome, but a little pricey, even for continental breakfast buffet. Surcharges for the basics like hotel parking and wireless internet were annoying when lower star hotels offer this as a free service. Free parking on the street on weekends and 5:45pm to 8:30am on weekdays.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Staci from Denton, TX
“This is the 2nd time I've stayed in this hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, the suites are spacious and clean. Great space for business travel or traveling with others. It's close to all the attractions in Austin without the noise from 6th street. Especially great for parents with kids attending U.T. because it's nice and close.” Aug 26, 2008 by
Scott from Houston, TX
“Wow. What an experience. I loved our stay in this hotel and would gladly stay again.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Douglas from Southlake, TX
“Excellent. Would be happy to stay there again.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Michael from San Antonio, TX
“The room I stayed in had no smells or stenches and was kept at room temperature all day long. I had no problems with the air conditioning or turning the lights on and off. I found their showers to be clean and moderately sized just like any other hotel. Shower heads are equipped with one of those center pressure spurt things that have the outer ring on normal spray and the inner ring on spurt. (It's like someone giving you a massage while you bathe). I never ran out of hot water. The water pressure remained consistent and the towels were in limitless supply. They provided me with Neutrogena face and body amenities, and other kinds of soap to use while I showered. The toilet seemed spotless with no residual odor from its previous occupants. (Of course, I always use a disinfectant spray no matter how clean it looks). The staff is not only kind and courteous, but they gave the impression that they don't solely judge a person based on what he/she wears on the outside.” Aug 20, 2008 by
David from Dallas, TX
“Extremely nice rooms, fabulous location, worst parking garage on the planet, lousy lobby amenities.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Ray from Hickory Creek, TX
“The suites and the cleanliness of this hotel lived up to my expectation of the Hilton organization. I only wish they had a better parking structure and valet parking service. The driveway entrance of this hotel were blocked by many vehicles.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Gretchen from Marble Falls, TX
“The hotel was excellent and I would stay there again. The staff was quick to fix problems.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Becky from College Station, TX
“Overall the hotel was great. It was much farther away from 6th street and Austin nightlife as we would have hoped but the hotel has a courtesy van that will drive you down there. Rooms were nice but they did not have one with 2 queen beds which was what we wanted. Full kitchen with some dishes which made eating leftovers easy. We ordered extra blankets, towels and a roll a way and they were dropped off at our room quickly. We did get a room service charge on our room that wasn't supposed to be there, they took it off no problem, but do pay attention to your bill. Oh, and ask for a cookie at the front desk, they are amazing!” Aug 14, 2008 by
Larry from Houston, TX
“Overall, nice hotel with friendly well dressed staff. However quality of guests was not as good. Poorly dressed, some were loud and inconsiderate. Staff did respond when we complained at 3 in the morning.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Corinne from Austin, TX
“I have stayed here several times and always had a positive experience. If you need lots of space at a reasonable price, then this is the hotel for you. The suites are enormous. I've had apartments smaller than these rooms. Mirrored closets in the bedroom are a bonus. Large bathroom, kitchen, living room and even a dining area/work station are standard. The location is half way between the heart of downtown and the UT campus area and very convenient to both. It is located near office buildings so the traffic in the area is very low on weekends. The staff is very friendly and presents you with warm cookies upon arrival. The bedding is very comfortable. The only down sides that I can see are: 1. The furniture in the room is very late 80's/early 90's. It's not historic, it's not modern, it's not stylish. it's just stale. 2. Like most hotels, they leave everything unplugged, but at this Doubletree, this often includes the phones being removed from the jack and phones or lights being on tables that are so far away from a plug that I can't figure out how to make them work.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Valerie from Georgetown, TX
“The hotel is nice and the rooms are spacious. They offer a free shuttle bus which is handy.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Jovonna from Austin, TX
“If you are looking for a place with a great view, good food and a great location this is the place. I felt the 12. A night to park my car, the 14. A day charge for in room internet for the room with its some deficiencies was not worth the cost. I would not have stayed there.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Keiko from Carlsbad, CA
“Was pleasantly surprised to find out the hotel upgraded us to a suite. Size of rooms was good and having a kitchen was nice. Furnishings were a little worn, so if they upgraded the bed linens and furniture, could easily be a 4 star.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Christine from Victoria, TX
“I would recommend this hotel to everyone. It was so centrally located to all the events and locations we visited.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Arimi from Sugar Land, TX
“We stayed there for the weekend and it was a great place. So close to everything! The room was clean and nice. Elevator was a bit slow. My only complaints are the parking spaces were tiny. And poll with SUV and big trucks are the worst at parking in small spaces. So many of them took two parking spaces, but that is not the hotels fault, but still it made playing $13 for parking difficult.”
