- Nice kitchen, lots of room.
- Dated. Could use a remodel.
“Perfectly fine 3* hotel. Nothing special. Rooms haven't been updated in a while, but the suite is large with a full kitchen. Would not want to pay rack rate for this one.”

- The suite of rooms was spacious and comfortable.
- I left something at the hotel, called and have not received a reply.

- Smelled like smoke everywhere. Check-in was slow, attitude of clerk was poor! Not enough parking for guest.

“The staff was great, the room satisfactory. It was in an okay section of the city, but being that Austin really isn't that big there doesn't seem to be any actual Uptown, Downtown, Mid-town, etc. Free internet access would be a plus.”

- The price we paid for the hotel met way over my expectations. The room was huge and was decorated very nicely, very Texas style.
- Dated bathroom.
“We only stayed in the hotel for one night b/c of a graduation we had to attend. Since there were 4 of us the hotel accommodated us with a two bed guest suite. There was a nice living room that even had a couch that turned into a bed. So we all slept comfortably. Our room included a kitchenette that was fully stocked along with marble countertops. Very nice. The best thing was the balcony that over looked Downtown Austin, and the hotel staff was very friendly and even accommodated us at 2a.m. when we got back from going out and we were starving.”

“When I checked-in, I was informed there were no more non-smoking rooms. This would have been a huge problem if staying for more than one night, but I went ahead and tried it for one night. It was horribly smoky.”

“Our first night we arrived late and just crashed. The next morning we took a closer look and the room was unacceptable dirty, sink stopped up, remote didn't work and on and on. They gave us another room for the 2nd night and it was much better. Staff was very helpful.”

- The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
- I liked it all.
“We loved this hotel. The room was roomy and very accommodating. For our 46th wedding anniversary the staff sent up to our room strawberries, whipped cream and a big bottle of Champaign, compliments from the hotel. It was a wonderful surprise. Our stay was wonderful.”

- Very close to UT Austin main campus. Good size suite for short stay complete with two TVs.
- Not a huge complaint, but parking was $12.99 a day and parking slots were small.
“Room did not appear new, but renovated well. Not luxury, but very nice for 3 stars. Good location to UT campus. We plan to stay there again.”

- The staff was extremely courteous and accommodating. They made us aware of the hotel's shuttle which took us to our destination.

“The location in the northeast area of Downtown is within walking distance of the University and the state capitol. The room was a very nice suite with sliding doors from the living area and separate bedroom to a full building width balcony that felt like it was our very own. Beautiful view of the state capitol and Austin skyline in the near distance. We were very impressed with the hotel and its staff. Highly recommend.”

- The suite was very comfortable with a large marble bath room.
- Self parking was very difficult in our large SUV. Parking spaces very close/tight!

- Parking garage is extremely small.

- Was disappointed with the gym/pool/sauna facilities.
“The hotel room was amazing for the price I paid. Complete with kitchen/sink/dishwasher/stove/fridge, etc it was like having a nice little apartment. Only thing was the a/c was broke the first night (and it was hot out). They gave me a fan to use, and they fixed it the next day. But then the heat was broke and the last day was freezing outside (and inside). So that was a little inconvenient/annoying.”

“Basic room functions performed adequately. This is an outdated hotel in need of serious upgrade. Exercise room is being remodeled interim room lacks basic equipment. Dining room is dimly lit which made reading over breakfast difficult. Would not want to stay her again, or at least would bid a much lower price.”

- I love the cookies at check-in and my balcony was wonderful!
- I loved this hotel.
“This hotel exceeded expectation from the moment we parked. Parking was convenient (valet parking was an option, but not necessary) and easy. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean. Loved the balcony. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We ate in the dining room and it was fantastic! Food and Service was wonderful. I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. It was great for an overnight stay and I imagine it would be wonderful for an extended stay on business. Good Job Doubletree!”

- Its nice not much to dislike could use mini bars.

- The room smelled bad like dirty bleach water. I think the carpets had just been cleaned which I think led to the smell.
“The room was very comfortable, the staff friendly and courteous, and the location convenient. The room smelled pretty bad though and some of the provided toiletries were opened and half empty making me wonder how well the room had actually been cleaned. Something I might expect from a lower quality hotel not from a supposedly "upscale" one.”

“This is what hotel service is all about. Very friendly staff and extremely accommodating. The room was immaculate! And, they offered a shuttle service. Our overall experience was wonderful. We will go back to the doubletree guest suites any time we are in Austin.”

- The kitchen was a great amenity.
“I tried to call and request a non smoking room in advance, but I was told that it wasn't necessary because I could do so upon check in. Of course when we checked in, the front desk said that all non smoking rooms were unavailable. Just what I was afraid of (less than ideal conditions when traveling with a 21 month old). We got to our room, and it smelled worse than any bar Id ever been to. There wasn't even a window we could crack to air out the room. Worst sleep ever! They said non smoking rooms were completely booked for Saturday as well. They could put us in another smoking room with a balcony though, so that we could at least have some fresh air. Then as we were leaving for breakfast, our very excited daughter fell off the couch and hit her head on the metal/glass coffee table. It was a major fall, which warranted a trip to the ER. Fortunately, she was ok. When we returned to the hotel, they suddenly had a non smoking room available for us. I hardly think it was coincidence, but we took the better room anyway. So, we would have had a perfect trip had it not been for the unbearably smoky room and trip to the ER. If you stay at Doubletree with little ones, please move coffee table to a safe place.”

- The parking garage.

- Room was big, great courtesy shuttle.
- Damage in room!
