• I liked the free WIFI, design of the rooms and friendliness of the staff.
• For the a moderate rating it was what I expected....not upscale though.

“This hotel provided clean rooms and frienly service. It also offered useful ameneties. My stay was overall very acceptable.”

• It was close to shopping.
• The full sized beds are too small.

“It's a basic hotel. It was clean enough and comfortable for what I paid. It had internet and cable (HBO). The two full size beds were a bit on the small size as I'm 6'2.”

• The staff and cleanliness.
• We were put on the 3rd floor with out elevators, I have serious knee conditions, most places have elevators.

“They had us on the third floor, and I have serious knee conditions, and a reconstructed ankle. Walking and some stairs are doable, however it's rare not to have elevators. They said they did not have any lower rooms. However they were clean rooms, and the AC worked nicely.”

• No elevators, noisy traffic, bath water temperature changes.

“I didn't consider the room dirty. My cons would be that you can hear your neighbor and outside traffic. My room was next to Popeyes, so it was a bit noisy) also the water was changing from hot to cold and kept switching back, their are no elevators so this is a big concern for the disabled. The breakfast was more than I expected, they had cereal, waffles, bagels, boiled eggs, fruits, oatmeal, coffee, and O.J./apple juice. Overall La Quinta Inn was a friendly warm, quite clean place to stay.”

• The room was small, carpet was disgusting, very run down looking with ceiling damage.

“It was a run down La Quinta. The carpet was disgusting and it was a very small room. The continental breakfast wasn't much and it was not kept clean during breakfast time.”

• Location was good. Walking distance to 2 restaurants. Convenient ice machine and vending. Cleanliness was a plus; great maid service.
• Not enough parking on our side of hotel. Bathroom smaller than others, but convenient. More closet space needed.

“Overall stay was convenient for my business stay, and located by 2 plazas and 2 restaurants for convenient dining and shopping. Located on major intersection for convenient travel around this area. I would recommend this hotel to my friends or business associates if they were in this area.”

• Convenient location to needed venues.
• Cleaning chemical smell in room on 1st night.

“Room was clean and comfortable. A strong chemical smell was in the room when I returned from having a late night dinner, but dissipated quickly and did not reappear. I had a room on the rear of the building, which cut down on any outside activity noise. It was easy enough to get to a meal with several restaurants in the near vicinity.”

• The proximity to the Army post our son & his family live on was excellent.
• It seemed to be dimly lit in the interior.

• Tub would not drain. Continental breakfast was sub-par.

“First of all, the food: There was a neat little fresh cookie display in the lobby. After my fourth visit to the lobby over three days, and noting that I never saw a single cookie in that display, I asked the desk clerk about it. She responded that the cookies go out late in the afternoon and they go fast. I would suggest that it's not good business for them to even have something like that, insofar as most visitors will simply see an empty box with crumbs. Took advantage of the continental breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday. No bagels either day. Orange juice machine was 'out of order' both days. Clerks were friendly and hospitable. Room was more than adequate in terms of decor and cleanliness to suit me. Only downside was that the bathtub did not drain. Had to shower Sunday morning with 5" of yesterday's cold water in the tub.”

• The cleanliness, the lighting, the parking, hotel staff unwilling to accommodate requests.

“Rooms were clean in appearance, but really nothing of the sort. Dont wear white socks or they will turn black before you get in the bed for the night. The televisions were really old, and the cable channel selection was nothing close to normal.”

• The rooms, the smell, the cleanliness.

“This is a sub-par hotel. The rooms were filthy and they stunk real badly. I leave for Iraq in 2 days, the purpose of this trip was my wife and kids came down to see me before I leave. I am ashamed that I had them stay in that hotel.”

• Staff was friendly and accommodated our request for a roll away bed.
• Very close to the highway and Popeye's Restaurant drive through was right in front of the room.

“The area does not have a lot of motels to choose from so we made due with what we had. Not the best we have stayed in but not the worst either. Was a disappointment after staying at the Stay bridge in San Antonio really enjoyed our time at the Stay bridge Suites.”

• Wonderful staff and very helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Good location. Easy to get to.
• Didn't have an elevator. I was on 3rd floor. But staff helped me with luggage.

“I would definitely stay here again. You have free access to 24-hour gym with room key. Staff was outstanding. Coffee was very fresh and tasted like real coffee in lobby. Easy to get to.”

• The staff quickly corrected the non-smoking room error and quickly gave us a choice of a non-smoking room as requested in the initial reservation.
• There was no hot water to take a shower. My husband and I took cold water showers.

“The hotel staff was extremely pleasant and polite. I had requested a non-smoking room in the initial reservation and was given a smoking room. The staff quickly offered us another room to accommodate the non-smoking request.”

“We were visiting our son who was being deployed from Fort Hood, and this hotel met our needs for a reasonable price. We didn't expect much for the price, but the room was clean and the staff was excellent. Not the best area, but it was close to the fort. Biggest problem was lack of hot water if we didn't shower very early.”

• I liked that they allowed the use of Gym X across the street from the hotel.
• I did not like that the room smelled like smoke.

“The hotel was below average. The room was okay but I had some very loud neighbors and when I got home all my clothes smelled like smoke. It was horrible. I would not stay at the hotel again.”

“I'm not usually a complainer, but this hotel was not what I had hoped for. There were problems with the water and the electricity. The hair dryer didn't work. We heard ambulances several times in the night and there were some loud guests on our floor. There was not an elevator. On a positive note, the staff was apologetic and pretty responsive when we made them aware of our problems.”

• The exterior of the hotel is rather dingy, parking area pavement broken up and sidewalks stained.

“Very nice clean room with a comfortable bed. Centrally located and perfect for my needs. Exterior could use some sprucing up. Overall a very good experience with this hotel, would recommend.”

• It was very inviting; clean, comfortable, friendly staff.
• If you're on the 2nd floor, you can't enter through the lobby after 11pm.

“I really liked this hotel. For the money, I felt like I'd gotten a steal. It was easy to find, close to the main highway, a very friendly staff (the desk clerk even called the room to make sure it met our needs and expectations), and had several eating establishments nearby. I will definitely stay there again.”

• Caring staff. We had an ER visit with one of my children. The staff sanitized the room for us and gave us extra supplies without asking.
• The parking lot could use some attention.

“The staff was very attentive and caring. We spent a night in the emergency room with my daughter and when the staff asked to clean the room the following morning I explained our situation and that we needed the bedding changed. They left a caring note for us wishing us better health and that they sanitized the room with everything they had. We had tissue boxes at every table, tea bags, extra cups, double soaps/shampoos, and double the towels. All this without asking.”

• Close to highway, shopping and fort hood, Microwave and mini fridge in room.
• Mattresses were uncomfortable and sagging. Hair in the bathtub and toilet was not flushed/clean prior to arrival.

“Easy to get to from freeway, staff was very friendly and helpful. The microwave and mini fridge were a big plus. Would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor because the mattresses were sagging. The bathroom appeared to not have been cleaned properly.”

• The staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean and the room was clean.
• The tub was a little high. So you had to be careful coming down. The mini fridge didn't work well.

“Overall I enjoyed this hotel. We went to stay there because for a funeral. It was quite and was centrally located to everything from star bucks, Wal-Mart, hob, Denny's & popeyed are right next door. The continental breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly. They had a wireless internet connection an added plus.”

• The staff came around and asked if everything was comfortable, and if we needed anything else.
• I only wish I could have stayed longer.

“The staff at this hotel was incredible. They were friendly and helpful with our groups needs. They allowed a large group of us to make welcome home posters in the lobby for our spouses who were returning from Afghanistan. And the breakfast and beverage selection was better than expected.”

• The bed top sheet was dirty.

“Bed sheet had what appeared to be a bodily fluid stain. Was not sure if bed had lines changed like they should have. This issue was found after 2nd night of stay because we were to tired 1st night. Good thing there was a second bed in the room that we used.”

• The room was very spacious with a fridge and microwave and lots of walking around in the room.
• Instead of one king size bed my husband and I was I was given a room with two full size bed.

“The hotel is in a very nice location with lots of surroundings. Mall, places to eat and etc. The only thing that we didn't like about it was. We did not get any sleep at all. There was a cricket problem in all the rooms. 20 to 30 cricket was singing all night with me hitting them all night long. Staff said there was nothing that they could do.”

• Wonderful Continental Breakfast. The kids loved the pool.
• The pool was highly chlorinated and caused eye problems for some of us the rest of the day.

“We really enjoyed our stay. We started our day with the continental breakfast, which includes waffles. There was plenty of batter for everyone, unlike other hotels I've been to. We then went to the pool. The weather was scorching, but the pool was shaded in the morning until about 11:30. We didn't have to worry about sunburns. There is a lot of chlorine in the pool--probably more than most. My husband's eyes burned him the rest of the day. The next day the kids were careful to keep their eyes shut under water and they didn't have any problems. The hotel is located off the highway. The street in front of the hotel is very busy, so it's almost impossible to turn left. We were able turn right and then make a U-Turn. All in all, it was a great hotel and a great value.”
