• Construction destroyed any interior ambiance. Should be 3 stars until complete.

• Enjoy running trail and bat bridge being so close.
• Not walking distance to downtown attractions.

• Very friendly and helpful staff and the view of Austin was amazing gorgeous.
• No spa amenities, room service shuts down at 11, no sauna, pool was closed, bathtubs were tiny.

“It's an older hotel with small rooms which have obviously been renovated. The bathtubs were very 70s and small. No bubble baths for me. Overall, nice for a night's stay and probably great for business travelers. The people were exceptionally helpful and friendly, and room service was nice.”

• Excellent rooms, very clean.
• House-keeping showing up at 8 am!

“Overall cleanliness was excellent, room was luxurious, bed extremely comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was convenient, fairly priced at $11/day. Hotel restaurants, shops etc. a little too "commercial". Leaving me with no desire to try them over the hundreds of other great places nearby in Austin. Housekeeping somewhat lackluster. They did not clean the room on two of the days we stayed. They showed up at 8 am one day while we were sleeping. Way too early for my tastes.”

• Parking was $12 compared to $24 Downtown hotels.
• Internet is $10 per day.

“I liked the location, close to parks and Downtown. It was very quiet and had great dining close to hotel. Parking was cheaper than dot hotels. However, internet is $10 and $5 for the bottle water in the rooms. A plus, was the soap and shampoos, great scent!”

“Well-located hotel adjacent to Town Lake trail system and near restaurants. Hotel is undergoing renovations in public areas. Room was well-furnished and comfortable.”

• Staff was helpful and polite, when not busy.
• Beds are small (full, not queen) for a double room, some rooms dirty.

“I've stayed at this Hyatt before and loved it the first time - romantic Riverview, big king bed. The second trip, with friends, was not as successful. The first room had not been cleaned properly and the beds were full instead of queen. The rooms with "double beds" are not as nice as the king rooms.”

• Rooms were very clean and beds were super comfortable.
• Hotel is currently under construction, therefore lobby area wasn't very pretty.

“Overall nice hotel, good location, great room. Because of construction hotel lobby/bar area was torn up, but not dirty etc. Also, air conditioner in room did not work properly. Room was extremely warm. And because all rooms face an open lobby (with bar) it was loud at night.”

• Staff was awesome, accommodating and friendly. Very helpful with requests.
• Rooms are a little small. Building was under renovation, but that could not be helped.

“Hotel was great. Staff was accommodating and friendly, which added to the pleasure of the stay. Location was a little difficult to find, but central to Austin and had a great view of the river and access to Towne Lake running trails.”

• View from our room was great. The open atrium view of the hotel added to the ambiance of our stay.
• Not one thing.

“I enjoyed our stay. The staff was accommodating in every way. Gave a romantic room once given reason for the visit. Suggested an excellent restaurant. They got our taxi for us, and parked our car and everything came back in great condition.”

• Lobby now undergoing renovation. Need to know that before accepting 4-star status.

“With the lobby under renovation, I do not feel that the star-ratings should apply. However the rooms more than made up for the loss of lobby services. Once complete, this hotel will certainly be a 4-star property.”

“Staff was wonderful! I use to be a Diamond member with Hyatt, and one of the reasons I left was because of aging properties and poor amenities. They valet parked my lexis convertible under trees, and birds just covered it with crap, and no place to clean it up!”

• A location is convenient and picturesque.
• All hotel rooms are accessible through atrium which is very noisy.

“The staff is very good at this hotel and the location is excellent. Because all of the hotel rooms are accessible off hallways that open to the large atrium, the noise in the atrium carries through to each room. Also, around 2am one morning, some young people were running in the hallways and carrying on. Hotel security could easily put an end to such activity, and since the noise in the atrium carries, it seems pretty clear the hotel staff likely heard this commotion.”

• Auditions for Nashville Star were going on- noisy and busy.

“This is probably your typically Hyatt Regency hotel, which in this case was not a bad thing. The rooms were tastefully and appropriately furnished. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The downtown location of the hotel makes it centrally located to many of Austin's attractions.”

• I liked the fact that they offered childrens games on the TV system and was close to Downtown.
• I did not like the food prices or the movie prices. I would have liked it if they had a complimentary continental breakfast.

“I liked the location but felt the hotel could have offered a complimentary continental breakfast for the price. I think the food prices were way too high and that hotel needed some maintenance work in the lobby.”

• The staff was extremely nice and went out of their way to help us.
• It was under renovations at the time, they woke us up early with loud banging!

“There were plenty of things that went wrong with this hotel, but for almost everything that went wrong the hotel staff cheerfully and eagerly tried to fix the problem. For example, every vending machine on every floor was out of Diet Pepsi, so the front desk had one delivered to us in our room at no charge. We were woken up early in the morning with loud banging and construction noises, so the front desk comped our bill by taking off last nights dinner and also our valet price! I suppose once all of the renovations are done this hotel will be amazing because they already have staff that are top notch. We just happened to stay during a bad time.”

• The decor was beautiful.

“The bathroom shower ran hot and then very cold, the air conditioner didnt work, it was just an unpleasant trip all the way around, they sent an engineer up to the room at 3:30 in the morning, because it was so hot, I would love to have my money back.”

• Remodeled rooms were beautiful.
• Small rooms and bathroom not fully remodeled.

“Great location but currently under renovations so the lobby floor was all torn up. For a higher end hotel they did not include any extras (Ex. Wi-Fi was $10/day, self parking was $11/day, and business center was $25/day. If you go to a lower priced hotel like Hampton Inn these are all included at no extra charge.”

• Modern room, tons of pillows, flat panel TV.
• The view wasn't great on my side. No big deal.

“This hotel is totally Austin - great modern decor, architecturally advance, and aesthetically inviting. There were even designer throw pillows on the comfortable bed. It's right on the river and within walking distance of down town. Just up the street are all types of restaurants serving Austin cuisine of the highest order. Wake up call was friendly and prompt. Alarm clock was even an ipod doc! Great  4-stars!”

• Room was a little smaller than typical 4-star hotel rooms.

“We really liked the location of this hotel - very close to South Congress (SoCo). Lot's of trendy shops and restaurants. Don't miss "Home Slice" for pizza on South Congress- best we have had in Texas in my 13 years here! Right across the river from Downtown hotspots, too.”

• The hotel was undergoing construction although not intrusive at all.

• Rooms had been updated and fairly comfortable.
• View was horrible overlooking a huge flat roof, construction noise in the am.

“The staff was all generally very friendly and helpful. The coffee bar had a nice selection of breakfast items. The location on S. Congress is fairly convenient to get to the hopping S. Congress area a little further South or the downtown, 6th street area or the University or the running paths on the river.”

• Fresh linens and plenty of pillows; friendly desk staff!
• Dirty towels and shower.

“I was expecting a bit better, given its star rating. Desk staff was friendly and public spaces were comfortable; room was comfortable but our towels were stained and dirty and the shower was far from clean. I got a great night's sleep on the comfortable bed, and check-out was as quick and warm as check-in. Parking's a bit pricey, but the valets are quite gregarious.”

• The beds were so comfortable. It was great!
• Every time you use the phone, you were charged, even if using a calling card, and if even you didn't get through to the other person. Totally outrage.

“Also, we had to pay for access to the internet, which shouldn't have been. Last year, at the Omni, we had the internet free of charge, and when it is for a business trip that is a necessity. Also, the pool could have been heated somewhat. But I did find the personal friendly and the rooms great.”

• The shower only had cold water.

“The Hyatt is usually a great hotel. However, the location was not in the heart of Downtown like some of the others. So I had to call for a lot of cabs or ask my friends I was visiting to pick me up. I felt bad because the parking was $11. So it was a bit frustrating. I'm not sure if it was because of the construction at the hotel, but I consistently had cold water come out of the shower. I called maintenance and he said I had to run it for awhile. It was frustrating that I had to run the shower for 10 min first before I got any hot water. The beds made up for the stay but overall the experience was okay.”

• Lobby is under construction. Will be great when done.

“I have stayed in this hotel many times and have always had outstanding service and the rooms are very nice now. Very convenient to downtown and easy to get to. Cab fare to 6th street is less than $5.00. Given how hard parking is downtown, this is the most practical option. A really good hotel.”

“This hotel was not close to 4 stars. The bathroom door was cheap plywood with unfinished putty on the back side. We couldn't get a king bed so my wife and I slept in separate beds.”

• Great staff, especially the guys at the front door.
• Renovations had fitness club out of service due to renovations; no diet soda in any of the (12+) vending machines.

“The hotel is in a great location very close to Downtown, but it's really on the wrong side of the lake for easy pedestrian access to Downtown attractions. City fitness trail passes by at hotel, however. Some renovations underway.”
