• Huge pool area. Free parking.
• Smelly elevators, dimly lit room, wallpaper peeling.

“Good value - but definitely not upscale. Old TVs, smelly common areas, poor lighting throughout. It did have a clean, huge pool with nice hot tub. Would stay again- especially with kids.”

• Valet parking.

“It was beautiful when you pulled up to the parking lot. The valet guys were very kind. I loved the pool, although I think my son loved it more. Our room was very clean, and the staff was excellent, they really went out of there way to make us happy.”

• The young staff was especially helpful, friendly and efficient.
• Lack of computers to print boarding passes, which is surprising since the hotel is near the airport.

“I stayed at this hotel on two occasions. Both were disappointing. On the first night, I was given a room on the second floor because of its proximity to smoking rooms, I asked for another room. The alternate, a corner room, faced an adjacent highway. Fortunately, the AC fan helped with the noise. The room during my second stay lacked an overhead light bulb, a reading light and an ottoman. There are no computers for flight check-in, though the staff at the front desk will print boarding passes. Avoid the highly over-priced restaurant with mediocre food. While the price per night was great, I was disappointed with the overall experience.”

“The hotel staff was very friendly and they are family oriented. Our grandson was given a backpack with assorted toys one of which was a kazoo, which really made his day.”

• Cold Evian when you pull your car up, peaches at the check-in desk.
• Room service food was average - did not match the general ambiance of the hotel.

“Loved this hotel - everything was first class. Location was convenient to downtown and the airport. Parking was free! Pool was large, refreshing and free of children! Fast WiFi free.”

• Comfortable and clean with great service.
• Road noise and did not have a sofa sleeper which would have accommodated our family perfectly.

“I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The Omni made my families stay pleasant and entertaining. The pool and other outdoor activities were big hit with the kids, they absolutely loved it.”

• The pillow and mattress are really comfortable.
• It was noisy when people in the next room talk loudly.

“The lobby looks great, the swimming pool is good and the staffs is really nice and friendly. Not very far from the Austin downtown, driving about 10 minutes.”

• The quality of the room exceeded expectations.
• It was a little hard to get to.

“The facilities were great and the room exceeded expectation. The staff was excellent. When we arrived at 2:00 p.m. the only room available was a smoking room. While the room was well-maintained we have a son who has had trouble with asthma so we weren't too excited about the situation. We checked with the staff around 5:00 and they had a non-smoking room available and moved us to it. I would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presented itself.”

• Soothing atmosphere, TV with soothing music on when you first come in. Tall ceiling room in the first floor. Pool in the front.
• Right next to the freeway a little bit noisy.

• This hotel is very kid friendly. The indoor/outdoor pool is awesome.
• I would suggest placing a bin for dirty pool towels outside.

“I have stayed here many times with my family over the past year. Every visit has been great. The hotel staff is always friendly and helpful. I recently stayed at a Competitor's hotel, but was not nearly as family friendly and the rooms were much smaller than the Omni. Overall, this hotel suits my needs very well and I recommend it highly.”

• The pool and facilities was great.
• A continental breakfast would have been nice.

“This hotel met and exceeded my expectations. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. When asking for directions to nearby places, they gladly provided the information. They also let us know when the children's activities were beginning. The room was clean and neat and the pool and surrounding area was so relaxing.”

• Nice lobby bar, and pool area.
• Checked in no rooms. Night manager was very rude.

“We did not know there was a biker rally in the city that weekend, so when we checked in there were no rooms available. Night manager was very rude. They wanted to put us in a guest parlor which basically is a conference meeting room. We did not accept, so they gave us someone else's room. The next day the night manager apologized moved us to proper room, and gave us a very nice cheese platter. We thanked him and finished out our weekend.”

• I loved the pool.
• I really liked the hotel, there was nothing not to like.

“I loved the hotel. It was very nice, we were in Austin for a baseball game, they gave us a late check-out and even let us stay and swim for 3 hours while we waited for the game. It was a nice place. We ordered food from the bartender, he went and picked them up from the restaurant for us. they were huge salads. I would recommend this place to anyone it was great.”

• The swimming pool which I was not able to use because of work.
• Access returning from airport difficult to navigate.

“The staff was great. The room was very roomy, comfortable. A problem with the bath was addressed quickly and efficiently. The view of the pool area was fabulous. Loved it all!”

• The mini bar items were not fresh and the breakfast was stale.

• Although very upscale, this hotel is excellent for family travelers.
• Wish the snack bar would have stayed open later, or had a vending machine for drinks.

• The only thing I wasn't to thrilled was the TV, needs to be updated.

• Beautiful lobby, check-in was easy and lady was nice, comfortable bed/pillows, great pool, nice room.
• No microwave, no refrigerator, ridiculously expensive sodas.

“I was hoping for a microwave, maybe even the mini fridge and reasonably priced soda machine. Instead, I was upgraded, which I understand is normally a good thing, but I was on a tight budget and hoping to get away with easy-Mac (microwavable Mac & cheese) for dinner, but if money wasn't a big thing, I would absolutely recommend this hotel- especially if you're going to swim (the pool is amazing).”

• No fast food directions offered.

• The furniture, bedding and fresh lobby flowers.
• The children did not receive what the brochure promised.

“The Omni in Austin is a very lovely hotel. It's very clean, has all the amenities, and the rooms are beautifully appointed. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and bed linens. I would definitely recommend the stay. However, the brochure promised milk and cookies for the children with their "turn down service" and this was not provided, even with requested with a phone call. Also in a gift pack given the children there was a cup which the brochure promised that the kids could use to qualify for free refills. No one at the hotel seemed to know about that promise nor did they fulfill it.”
