• Comfortable, clean, well-maintained hotel.
• Thin walls.

“Overall, the Marriott Austin South is a great hotel. Very clean and well-maintained, with nice amenities (fitness center, pool, and restaurant are all very nice). I would definitely stay here again. A caveat for light sleepers; however, is that the walls of this hotel are very thin. I could hear housekeeping knock on every door on my floor at around 9:30 am. This wasn't a problem for me, but it may be an issue if you're a light sleeper looking to sleep in on a weekend.”

• I liked that everything I needed was in the room and the kids had their own space.
• The restaurant didn't serve the food fresh after I realized that a particular item wasn't.

“The hotel was convenient, clean, and quiet. I wouldn't change to much about my stay. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool during winter. Overall good stay.”

• Indoor heated pool; jacuzzi; on-site restaurant; near 35 freeway.
• Not as stylish as Hilton at airport (e.g., no courtyard).

“Hotel was good, indoor heated pool and jacuzzi a huge plus. Nice exercise room too. Restaurant food was good. Physical attractiveness was average, not the typical style of a 3.5 star, but it was well kept and clean.”

• The feather soft pillows and awesome clean and huge king size bed.
• Lacked a lot of parking space. Need more practical parking space for customers.

“The overall stay was very relaxing and quiet at night specially. We enjoyed everything about our room and cleanliness was outstanding. The parking area needed more slots for guest. Either there were too many visitors or too many guest, but it was hard to find convenient parking well distant to our room area. More parking needed.”

• The bed was very comfy and the hotel staff was nice.
• The walls are too think and our neighbors woke us up with their loud talking.

“Overall this hotel was a fantastic value for the price we got it for. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The staff was very helpful and I found our room very comfortable. The walls are too thin and that is my only complaint. The hotel was well maintained and had an upscale feel to it.”

• Beautiful lobby decor and quality fittings hit you upon entrance and overall room decor surpassed expectations for the price!
• Nothing.

• There was pubic hair around the toilet and in the shower!

“The staff was nice. I did not like that to have wireless Internet there was a $14 few. Also, no continental breakfast and no refrigerators. The mattress on the bed was super hard! We awoke with aching backs.”

“This hotel had the decor and amenities to be expected of a Marriott. It was very clean and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone spending a few nights in the Austin area.”

• Room was facing busy highway, could not sleep.

“Road noise from highway made room us sleep able. Not only was there not a morning meal included, but a $1.50 charge for 1 cup of coffee in the lobby. Menu is way over priced. 2eggs, meat drink and toast for $10.00, come on. I guess if your company is picking up the tab it does not matter, but is that not the problem that caused our economy to collapse. Give me a Holiday Inn anytime.”

• They had a issue with a large group not leaving until late so we were not able to check in until very late and had to get ready in a small bathroom.

“We arrived at the hotel at 3:00pm and they told us our rooms would not be ready until after 5:00pm because they were accomadating a large group that wasn't checking out until late. We had to leave the hotel before 5:00 and needed to shower, change clothes and get ready. The only thing they could offer was a small single bathroom in the exercise room. 1 toliet, 1 shower, 1 sink all in the same room. only 1 plug and 1 mirror again all in the same room. My sister and I shared the bathroom to get ready but before we could finish getting ready 4 other women arrived to try to get ready in the same single bathroom - it was awful. We did not get back to the hotel until after midnight, so we spent less than 9 hours in our rooms. They offered nothing for our inconvenence. The hotel was very nice but the situation was unacceptable - I will never stay at the Marriott again.”

“The hotel was a lovely experience from start to finish. The staff was friendly and helpful and all made us feel like they were glad we were staying with them. We ate a couple of times in the bar watching games and found the food and service very careing. The salt water pool was really enjoyable and because it was shallow, perfect for the 4 year old. My daughter enjoyed the exercise room. I really loved having breakfast delivered to our room. It was fresh and hot and bountiful. It was just a lovely experience.”

“When I checked in, the woman at the front desk made too much of an issue over the room I had requested. She told me that it wasn't cleaned yet and offered me another room on the floor. When I explained that I understood the room numbers from my previous stay, she stated "well, excuse me!" as if I had insulted her. She could have just said that she was glad to know I knew the hotel so well, but instead tried to make me, the customer, feel like I should have acted differently. Even if it offended her (which I can't understand), it doesn't change that I am the customer and should be made to feel welcomed.”

• The room was very comfortable and well decorated. The bed was especially comfortable. The staff was helpful. The workout room was better than usual.
• At night, the corridors were somewhat noisy.

“Overall, the quality of the hotel was good. The rooms and public places were clean. The workout room was well equipped with water and fresh fruit. The only drawbacks were that the corridors were loud at night, and the pool was small.”

“Thought hotel was great and the breakfast buffet was worth every penny. Very nice lounge and bar area. Staff went out of their way to be accommodating to any request. We did get lost trying to locate hotel after arriving at the airport. Underground parking and plenty of room.”

• Consistent quality every stay. Clean, well appointed rooms, friendly staff and conveniently located. Plus free parking.
• No mini bar although there was a mini bar fridge for personal use.

• No parking cost, 4 star quality rooms, very nice bar.
• Long walk to room, AC not very effective, water pressure is horrid.

“If there was a ranking of 3.5 starts this hotel would get it. Ideal for the self sufficient (free parking, no chirping bellman unless needed, no in room munchies temptations). The beds are top quality, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and efficient. The AC didn't make the room cold (but I like it freezing) and the water pressure barely rinses the soap off. But, those are minor. The bar is fantastic.”

• It was clean and basic, and they honored our room type request.
• The hotel staff was not as friendly as they could have been. The location of the hotel made it difficult to get to.

“The Austin Marriott Airport South is a traveler's hotel located just off of the Interstate. Unfortunately, it is on the east side of the highway, which makes it a pain to get to if you are coming from the north. We stayed there on a weekend that most of the hotels in Austin were booked, due to a large music festival and evacuees from Hurricane Rita being in town. I was very impressed that the hotel was still able to honor our request for a non-smoking King. However, the staff was visibly worn-out and not very friendly. I can't really blame them though, given the circumstances.”

• Friendly service was great. Loved the roomy bathrooms with toiletries. Felt safe parking in underground garage.
• Location was a little awkward but we found some back roads to get.

• Good location and free parking made this a very convenient hotel for my purposes.
• Nothing stands out that was unpleasant. It would have been nicer to have a larger shower and bathroom in general. It was a little crowded for two.

“The lobby and public space was slightly below average for hotels in this category, I think, but the room was above average. Since I rarely spend much time in the public space, I was happy with this situation.”

“There is no reason not to choose this hotel. Location, aminities, staff, and the room was top notch. We had to attend a conference the next day at a Hyatt Regency, paying twice the price and it couldn't even come close to the quality of the Marriott.”

• The Marriott was clean and well organized. The pool area had plenty of towels. We had an enjoyable stay!

• Very charming decor, clean, nice staff.

“We had a very good experience with this hotel. The staff was very friendly (all shifts) and they were very helpful as well. The pool was clean, but was indoors and on the second floor. They do have an outdoor sitting area for those who want to sun that's just next to the indoor pool for those who enjoy that.”

“Pleasant experience besides the Satelite TV not working well during the rain. Most of the stations could not be accessed. The elevators were not well ventalated. If you need a firm bed this is the place to go. Just your average hotel!!”
