“Pretty good hotel for the location. The breakfast was really good and they had several options. the staff was not very helpful nor all that friendly. We had a non-smoking room with ash trays and it was the last room on the hall that was a smoking hall. Well, it appeared and smelled that way. our hallway stunk but our room did not.”

• It was in a very good location.
• We had to wait on the check in because rooms were not ready.

“The hotel overall was great. Just the check in was not. Check in time was 3 in the afternoon. Showed up around 3:30 to check in and it was over an hour later before our rooms were ready.”

• Fly inside. Every time they clean they forgot to place towels in room.

• The location is awesome a hundred steps from the river walk and a few blocks from the Alamo.
• We liked everything about the hotel.

“The hotel is in a great location (close to Riverwalk and Alamo and Convention Center, etc.), the hotel staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and pretty (equipped with microwave and refrigerator), and the pool/hot tub are nice. They serve a free hot breakfast every morning. We had a great experience at this hotel. There are tons of wonderful restaurants within walking distance and a great mall across the street. It wasn't necessary to rent a car since we were close to everything. We got a taxi to go to Sea World, but we easily walked to everything else we did in our 5 day vacation.”

• The closeness to the river walk.
• The cost of daily parking was $15.00-guest shouldn't have to pay for parking.

“The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. We were able to go around downtown without having to move our car the whole weekend which was nice. There were many events to do around the riverwalk including, shopping, a comedy club, bars, movies, the Alamo, and of course the boat ride.”

• The staff was very helpful, breakfast was good, room was clean.
• Got stuck in a smoking room, the smell was overwhelming, they need to add to improve on this.

“Ran into a problems with the parking on Saturday night. They do not have enough parking spaces to for all hotel rooms. Thus, several persons were asked to park a block away and walk back to the hotel.”

• Hotel and valet staff was accommodating.
• Self parking full.

“When we arrived at the hotel, the self parking lot was closed because it was full. We pulled in front of the hotel to check in as was told that we were assigned a smoking room with 2 double beds because it was booked on line. We were a little concerned with the smoking room. However, the hotel staff member told us that we can check-in later to see if non-smoking rooms open up. We did some sight seeing and came back to check in. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel staff remembered us during her busy day and assigned a non-smoking, king bedroom for us. Also, since the self-parking lot was full, our remaining choice was the valet option -- which was fine, but I think the extra cost for some families might be an issue. The complementary breakfast line past 10am can go on for miles, so one suggestion is to go early for breakfast!!”

“The hotel was excellent but for the price for parking the lot should have been better. The staff and service was beyond my expectation. Excellent.”

• Their breakfast bar was terrible- not enough help as lines were long and slow, food was not replenished quickly or in some cases, not at all.

• I could not choose a room with one bed, I had to take a room with 2 doubles.

• Party across the hall w/young people & alcohol-reported to mgmt-no action.

“Hotel was lovely and room was very comfortable. Breakfast was great and housekeeping was good. Only problem we encountered was a party across the hall from our room. There were probably 10 or more young people in that room & maybe an adjoining room. There were in & out of the room all night with the party spilling over into the hall. Lots of alcohol, housekeeping carried away cases of empty beer bottle that were left into he hall. This was reported to the front desk but nothing changed.”

• Absolutely the best complimentary breakfast I've ever seen; both in content and presentation, with plenty of seating.
• The fitted sheets kept coming loose and the pillows were too soft.

“The hotel has an extremely good location, was spotless and even the hallways were properly air conditioned. The Riverwalk was close by and we had a wonderful get-a-way weekend! They take their complimentary breakfast to a level that is the best I have ever experienced.”

• Stained sheet, took 3 different requests to get it changed, would not work with me to upgrade to a larger bed.

“This hotel was nice. Didn't appreciate the stain on my sheets. Disgusting. Took 3 different requests to get problem resolved. The phone was setup for a wake up call at 6 am. Didn't know how to cancel it and it kept going off and front desk had to have it reset. The workers in the breakfast area was very rude when asked about something. Not helpful at all.”

• La Quinta Inn Convention Center was in a great location to the mall and several places of interest nearby. The staff overall was very friendly and help.
• The only negative thing we noticed was dirty elevators (floor) & we saw the same trash in the floor the second day we were there. Otherwise great!

“There were many positive things about the La Quinta Inn Convention Center. They offered a wonderful breakfast, and the facilities were very nice. The only negative thing we encountered was the private party around the pool that closed the pool area to all other customers for a couple of hours on Saturday evening.”

• No wireless Internet in rooms. Parking is ridiculous.

“Staff was courteous and mostly helpful. I stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and the (wired) Internet never worked in the room. I tried going through the tech support, but they were not able to help. Addressed this multiple times with staff and was always told that they would have someone look into it. There was a storm coming through San Antonio, but the wireless Internet continued to work in the lobby. Only other issue is the parking. You are required to park in their lot and it's $15 per day ($19 if you want valet). I understand parking can be hard, but this is San Antonio at a La Quinta Inn and not the Waldorf in NY. Otherwise, hotel was nice and clean with a good free breakfast in the mornings.”

• The fact that I had to pay for my parking at La Quinta Inn.

• They charge double the amount for parking than they disclose on the last day.

“Fantastic location right behind the Marriot River walk and right next to Foley's in the River walk Shopping Center. Brand new, great rooms. Kids loved the breakfast buffet with eggs, bacon, sausage and waffles. The disappointment came after check-out! The hotel discloses that they charge $15 per day for parking. They did not disclose that you have to start paying hourly for parking after 1:00 pm on check-out day, another up to $16 on top of the $15 you already paid for the DAY. That is like high-way robbery, since nobody made an effort to disclose that and it is nowhere announced! Be aware.”

“This hotel exceeded our expectations. From the moment we checked in until we left, every staff member we encountered was smiling, friendly, and helpful. The full breakfast was great, our room was tastefully appointed and the hotel is conveniently located, directly across the street from Foley's and the river walk; easy access on and off the expressway.”

“I enjoyed my stay, the hotel was clean and attractive. The heated swimming pool was fantastic and so was the hot tub. The free breakfast was delicious. Best of all the hotel was just a short stroll from the river walk and Alamo.”

• Beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, had to go buy our own.
