• Close to the airport and quiet clean room.
• Not as nice as other hotels in the 3 star catagory, it wasnt a very comfortable atmosphere. Hotel was hard to find.

“I have stayed at 3 star hotels and this one doesnt fit that catagory. The hotel is close to the airport which is convienent for those who travel early or get in late. But as for comfort it really wasnt as
I expected. The room was clean and they had a crib for my son which was nice but
I just wasnt 100 % satisfied with the hotel. I prefer Staybridge suites for the star rating as they have a more relaxing atmosphere and even offer complimentary breakfast. Probably will chose a different hotel in the area for future travel.”

• Hard to know what dining options were close.

• The staff was awesome, making sure that needs were met. They were courteous, gracious, and service oriented.
• I would have preferred more shrubbery around the pool. It didn't allow for much privacy for this modest traveler. There were lots of onlookers.

“I would stay at Holiday Inn Select again if in the San Antonio area. The beds and pillows were so comfortable, the hotel food, tasty, (breakfast bar and sandwich/coffee shop), and the room tidy - it smelled like fresh laundry when I checked in! Staff were hasty to correct misinformation regarding meal vouchers - when they didn't have to. The only dislike I had was in regards to the conference room where I had meetings all day - the tables were set up in such a way that those in attendance were disruptive to the back 1/2 of the classroom due to having to walk in the middle to the doors for bathroom exits. I felt the table locations were not well thought out.”

“The hotel was great, so much more than we expected. The staff was very friendly. Everything was clean and kept up beautifully. Pet policy was fair and enjoyable. Small drawback pool was not heated but the kids still enjoyed it.”

“Our room was on the 4th floor, the 5th floor was the smoking floor and we could smell smoke coming in through the vents both days/nights we stayed there. Other than that it was a nice place.”

• It was a Holiday Inn and yet very nice! As good as a Marriott.
• Nothing.

“Really love that it was a nice hotel, inside entrance, beautiful pool area, spacious room, great staff. You don't have to pay for parking and can use their dolly to take your luggage up on your own without tipping a bellman. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room as well! Excellent with children! Pets are allowed! Overall great experience.”

• The staff was sharp and friendly.
• Entrance from freeway feeder was not clearly marked.

“The staff was really great and upgraded us with no extra charge. We missed the entrance to the location twice, exiting the freeway and ended up in the lot next to it because the entrances weren't marked clearly. We would recommend the hotel to others and would stay there again.”

• We were placed in the Executive Suite which was quite & peaceful.
• That continental breakfast was not free. lol.

• In general, the supervisors were not accommodating.

“I called the hotel to notify them that I would be arriving late. It was midnight when I checked in to the hotel. They did not have a room for me. I was placed on a smoking floor of which I said would not do. I was moved to another room only to find upon my arrival that all of the linens for the bed were piled on the couch. The room had not been cleaned. I was moved to a handicapped room and found that it had not completely been cleaned either. I was moved to the next room and discovered the next morning that there was not a stopper for the bath tub. The hotel was gracious enough to compliment my breakfast for my trouble but when I received my bill, there was a charge for breakfast. This was resolved with a telephone call. In general, I have never had so much difficulty with getting situated in a room.”

“Although the hotel was updated, the halls smelled of smoke and the carpet was stained. The lobby, location, and pool area were very nice. I would expect a better quality television at a 3 star hotel. We stayed at the hotel 4 nights. It appeared that the cleaning staff did a fair to poor overall job. Overall the stay was good but below expectations for a 3 star hotel.”

• The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
• The air conditioning was not working properly.

“The hotel was very nice and clean. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room which was nice. The staff was very friendly. The air conditioning system wasn't working properly. The room wouldn't cool off as much as it should have. It was not extremely hot, but it could have been much more comfortable. Also the noise carries excessively. My room was 2 doors down from the ice machine and every time someone got ice in the middle of the night it woke me up. I could also hear people talking while walking up and down the hall all night. Maybe a little more insulation would help with both of these problems.”

• Clean and nice bed. Has a small fridge and a microwave machine.
• The location - it is hard to get to it because of the complicated freeway intersection.

• The room was clean. The staff was very helpful, the pool was clean. Great location right of the highway.
• The attractiveness of the room was not eye catching.

“I would probably stay in this hotel again if and when I visit san Antonio, they just need to have a continental breakfast that's free. Other than that it was a great stay. My children enjoyed it, my husband was pleased as well. The movie prices are to high. Overall great stay.”

• The room was clean and very organized and it also was handicap ready in which we needed.
• The Drapes in our room only closed half way and there was a sheer curtain covering the rest of the widow which made me feel a little uncomfortable.

• I loved the king size bed.
• I didn't like the smell of the floor, it smelled like cigarettes and it was a non smoking floor.

“It took us two hours to find this hotel. There was so much construction that you can't get off on the right exit. The hotel desk clerk didn't give us good directions.”

“My experience as an avid business traveler would describe this hotel as moderate. I did not like the shower head, barely dispensed any water at all. Also, it took about 5 minutes for any hot water to come out. The location was great but the room could use some improvement.”

• The price.

“This hotel is very business-like, but even staying with my family was a great experience. We stayed 3 nights, used the pool and the bistro cafe for breakfast. Very good location on Loop 410. The price was unbelievable. This was a very nice vacation for my family and I.”

• The staff was very friendly and respected the DND sign on the door.
• I would have preferred a more up-to-date TV. (I.e., Flat screen/panel with video/audio outlets).

• Easy access, quick service, pretty much what I expected for three stars.
• The coffee maker was in the bathroom, although there was ample room on top of the microwave mini-fridge, so we didn't use the coffeemaker.

“We were at this hotel to attend my daughter's graduation, so we did not have a chance to try the pool or fitness room. Check-in was quick and moderately pleasant, as was check-out. The desk staff let me borrow their tape when I ran out of tape while I was wrapping a gift during our stay, which saved me time. I really appreciated that. Room service was quick and responsive. Value was pretty good re: room service breakfast, which was delivered quickly and appropriately heated/cooled, based on the items. Two areas for improvement: a focused cleaning might remove a four-and all hotels, including this one, need to relocate the coffee maker out of the bathroom.”

“This was not a pleasure trip for my family and me. Our plumbing backed up at our home and we were forced to find a place to stay over Mother's Day weekend. The staff was very accommodating and friendly and let us check in a bit early when we told them we were without working toilets and water at our home. Fortunately, our house problem was fixed in a couple of days and we were able to actually "pretend" like we were on vacation toward the end of our stay. My five year old son loved the hotel and the experience. He told all of our friends and family that we were on vacation! Even though it sits right next to the highway, the pool area was very nice and well hidden behind tall bushes and trees. The cafe area had great coffee and breakfast treats and was a nice place to go for a late night snack, since they were open until midnight. The lobby was inviting and had plenty of places to sit, and it even had a nice big flat panel TV to watch. The rooms were spacious enough, the pillows were soft and the beds weren't too hard. It was also nice to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room! Living in San Antonio, we rarely play tourist in our own town, but this experience gave us an opportunity to do so. We actually really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it to friends and family who are planning to come into town.”

• Very comfortable bed, good safe area & very clean.
• Did not like that there was slick tile around the pool area. Dangerous for children as I kept slipping when wet.

“Great hotel. Very clean, beds are extremely comfortable, staff is quick to accommodate (i.e.: extra towels, giving directions, etc.) It is in a nice safe part of town and still quick to get to most activities for tourist.”

• It was conveniently located to the places to my points of destination & enjoyed having Starbucks in the Lobby.
• AC wasn't cold enough. Bad patching on ceiling in Bathroom. Bar smelled funky.

“It's somewhat a nice hotel, you can tell it needs updating. We were surprised to see the cleaning lady working after nine in the evening. Love that it has a Starbucks in the Lobby.”

• No one in the restaurant. No one from the bar came over to get our menu, we left and went to a rest.

“Very nice at the front desk, and the van driver. No one else spoke to us, or asked if we needed assistance. No one in the restaurant to take our order, so we ate elsewhere. Rooms were clean. Met my needs.”

“I have stayed here before and I had a better experience last time. The room had a musty smell (a non smoking room) and the cleaning staff didn't clean the bathroom very well (sink counters). I was awaken on a few occasions due to the loud people in the hallway.”

• Difficult access from highway, maybe due to construction.

“I was pleased with the room and service. There were a lot of teenagers in the hotel but they weren't disruptive. We did not use the restaurant facilities. The construction on loop 410 made access to the hotel difficult.”

• I liked the location of the hotel because it was not hard to travel about.
• Security was an issue in the parking lot!

“The hotel overall seemed like a nice place to stay for a short business visit. I did not like the security in the parking lot. I was parked there overnight and my truck was vandalized; I had a broken door handle that suggests someone tried to break into it. That made my experience turns upside down.”

• It was very quiet in the room and I was able to sleep without being disturbed.
• The TV was very small and did not seem to match what a 3 star should have in its rooms.

“I loved the room. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. I especially enjoyed the quietness of the hotel. Normally, I can hear people in the hotel rooms around me or in the hallways, but not here. I felt like it was a private room, and this was nice. I thought the television could have been nicer and much bigger. I have come to expect that from a 3 star hotel and this fell short of my expectations.”

• Unfortunately was woken up at 4 AM because the hotel booked my room to someone else.

“Hotel was nice unfortunately we were woken up at 4AM because the hotel booked my room to someone else. And they were knocking on our door trying to get in. Not completely satisfied with this hotel. Also notice that cars were broken into out side in the parking lot so don't leave your valuables in your cars. Other than that its perfect because your right at 281 and 410 you can get to down town in about 5 to 8 minutes.”

• People were friendly.
• House keeper went through luggage.

“I liked the hotel, staff and location was great. I did notice when I returned from shopping at the mall, the house keeper who serviced my room moved two shirts that had strategically placed in my suitcase to cover up some valuables. Both shirts had been moved, and had been placed back in a different way.”

• I liked the ambiance of the hotel.
• The bathroom was somewhat updated. However, the tub/shower needs to be replaced (mold). The shower head/water pressure were disappointing.

“When I arrived I phoned the hotel for an airport shuttle. The shuttle driver was prompt. I arrived early to the hotel and they were able to accommodate me and my small child. They did not turn us away and tell us to return at 3pm (check-in time). The only criticism is that there was mold in the shower and the iron left my clothing with a brown mark. The hotel should check their irons. Overall, I was impressed with the hotel, staff and decor. I would stay at this hotel again.”
