- Amenities, pool/spa/ location on Riverwalk and proximity to Alamo make it a great selection.
- Front desk tried to screw us out of our two bed reservation.
“Stayed here for meeting and set my in-laws up with a room while my 14-year-old daughter was visiting. They loved everything about this hotel. Hotel desk tried to switch up rooms and give a full bed instead of what was reserved.”

- Old, Expensive, Parking inconvenient, no free internet.
“Rooms are old and outdated, especially the Beds. Hotel had air purifiers all over the place but could still hardly breathe -- I suspect mold in hotel or maybe the air from the Riverwalk is just bad. Overall cost was way too high when compared with 2.5 and 3 star hotels that are close by.”

- Great location.
- Hotel Staff at front desk not very friendly when I talked to them about smoke smell in my room.
“This hotel is a great location on the River Walk. The hotel is in nice shape and the decor is very nice. Be ready to pay around $23 per day to self park. You also have to pay around $11 per day for wireless access. The hotel is supposed to be nonsmoking. When I arrive my room had been smoked in. The room had been deodorized to try to cover up the smell. I called the front desk and they told me they would send up an air purifier but since the hotel was busy it would take awhile to get it there. A Walgreen personal humidifier was brought up and it was dry. I took it to the front desk and told them it was a humidifier and not an air purifier. They were rude and told me that was probably all they had. They told me they would send someone up to spray the room. So I woke up the next morning with a sinus headache and swollen eyes. I was not happy and can't believe that the cleaning staff did not report that the room had been smoked in and clean the room correctly. I was very disappointed.”

- Convenience of the location.
- The room was dirty, staff was rude, they moved us, AC was not working.
“We expected to stay in a great hotel instead we found a room that had not been cleaned properly, staff that was not understanding, and problems with the AC. The location was great and that's about it!”

- At 9 am housekeeping knocked on every door up and down the hall.
“Great location for Riverwalk. Very friendly and helpful staff. It was vacation and housekeeping knocked on every door and calling housekeeping at 9am. I was hoping to sleep in but after hearing "housekeeping" about 20 times up and down the hall I gave up sleeping in.”

- Clean, lots of activity, staff accommodating but not overshadowing.
- Pool closed too soon. Valet vs. self park only $4 difference and were not told.
“I will be coming back. This hotel is full of activity, it is first class, but for those of us not used to people waiting on you hand and foot, it was not uncomfortable with valet and bus boys breathing down your neck like some 4 star hotels. Great experience on the Riverwalk!”

- Location. Right in the heart of Downtown San Antonio. Les than a block to several good places to eat.
- We were not aware of parking fees until we arrived.
“I would definitely stay at this hotel again. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was very helpful. The location of this hotel could not be any better. The river walk is right out the back door and the Alamo is a block away. Most of the activities in Downtown San Antonio are within walking distance.”

- Location was great. Work out facility was great.
- Noisy. Could hear every conversation in the hall and out on the street, 6 floors up.
“Very nice hotel, good location on the Riverwalk. It was very noisy in the room as you could almost see into the hallway when the door was closed, maybe some weather stripping to isolate the noise outside. Also, the bar crowd at 2:30 am on the street was very loud as if there wasn't any glass in the window. Other than the noise, this was a very comfortable hotel.”

- Great location, great view.
- Not family oriented, no way to cool snacks/juice for kids.
“The hotel was nice, great location, great view of the Alamo. The restaurant manager was way too into himself - we wouldn't eat there. Hotel seemed more business oriented and less family oriented. We have small children and need to keep snacks, juices and milk cold. There was no way to do this in the hotel. The refrigerator in the room was packed with $5.00 snacks and not usable. Other than that inconvenience - it would be a great hotel for a family with older children or a business traveler. The hotel is old and has small rooms - which was not good with kiddos.”

- The location and the pool is great.
- Cost about $25 to park in hotel parking.
“DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING YOU DON'T WANT TO BUY! They charge me for a $5 for water I did not drink. So don't even touch anything in the room unless you are going to buy it at all. The hotel has nice bed, great views all around. The pool is on the roof which was great view of San Antonio. And it is directly in front of the Alamo and on the river walk.”

- It's convenience to everything we were doing and ease in check in/out.
- Housekeeping failed to make sure all amenities provided were in place prior to our arrival.
“This is a beautiful hotel that does an excellent job on taking care of its customer while remaining as un-intrusive as possible. Checking in and out was very quick and nice, valet service was excellent and it was convenient to everything going on in Downtown San Antonio. I have found my preferred location when I am in San Antonio.”

- Convenient, what I expected for Hyatt, clean, very nice renovation on room, contemporary, nice appointments & amenities.
- Public areas are showing some age, have seen same at other Hyatt's but room renovation is very nice.
“Had stayed there about 10 years ago so a little nostalgia when I walked in the door. Convenient to meetings, meals, downtown and historic areas. Room amenities very nice. Staff was pleasant but not always anticipating guest needs. All were great for me but I sat in Lobby/Reception for an hour visiting with associate, observed other guests' experiences. Will definitely consider this property next trip to San Antonio.”

“I loved the hotel. Breathtaking when you enter the lobby. The room was perfect. The bad part about the hotel is the parking garage. There are drunks everywhere, it smells like urine, and is overpriced. I paid a pretty penny to stay at the Hyatt, and it was worth it. I would never park across the street again. It is scary. The last time I stayed there, there was an officer walking around the garage, now, there is nothing.”

“I would recommend this hotel. The stay was pleasant and a nice experience. The parking was a shock and a major disappointment. Enough that I probably wouldn't stay there again. I believe that $25.00 a day is too much.”

- The window that faced into the atrium was corner to corner, and so inviting. We sat at the window in leather chairs, sipping our bottle of red wine.
- The pillows smelled like someone's sweat. Luckily we had our own pillows with us!
“Valet was $27, self parking was $23 (per day), and water bottles were $5 (each!). The mini bar was packed with just about everything you could want and yes, it was also very expensive, too. (We didn't bite!).”

- The rooms view and it was very clean and the hallways did not smell.
- The way hotels try to over charge you via parking, dining and the fridge in the room.
“We enjoyed ourselves. The roof top pool was nice but small, but that was ok because there were no kids. They told us the pool bar was opened but it was not. We later found out the guy who worked it had recently quit. We parked in a city parking garage around the corner for $7.00 dollars a day and walked to the hotel. Over all we enjoyed our stay and will stay there again for sure.”

- The location was perfect! It was right in the middle of everything!
- The staff was not as nice as some of the other hotels I have stayed in. They were not rude just not super friendly.
“I thought it was wonderful! I would stay again in a heartbeat. It is in the perfect location especially for kids.. There is plenty to do within walking distance. We took two 5 year olds with us! Ripleys and the house of mirrors are across the street along with the carriage rides. Also, rainforest cafe is literally right next door which the girls love! River room or not, you still have a really nice view. Again, I would stay there again anytime!”

- There was absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel, I would stay there again and again.

- Excellent location and value with amenities.
- Parking is costly and need to do a better job of cleaning by the Riverwalk.
“Hotel room was very nice and the location was great. The staff was more than willing to help in any way possible. The parking garage could not be reached for almost an hour before our checkout time. I would recommend that the staff have a crew clean up the river front area in front of the hotel at daybreak like the resorts on a beach.”

- Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Too much bleach was used to clean the room. The fumes burned my nose and overwhelmed.
“This hotel is very conveniently located across the street from the Alamo. It is close to the action, but removed enough to separate guests from the action on the streets. The opposite entrance opens up right onto the river walk. Although, we did not have any meals in the hotel, the hotel's casual restaurant was full at breakfast. The rooms were generous in size, stylish in design. The beds were not the most comfortable and the pillows were feather; I prefer foam.”

- Location was awesome concierge very helpful.
- $25 parking, out of date and dark decor in public areas (River walk), room not cleaned well during stay.
“The property is well located on the River walk, with nicely appointed rooms. We were missing a hair dryer and needed an additional bed. These items were delivered in short order. However, the bathrooms were very small and the room was not well cleaned each day (they did not vacuum the carpet after my children scattered cracker crumbs everywhere. The downstairs access to the River walk was dark and dingy and could really benefit from a facelift.”

- The beds are the best I have ever slept during travel.
- None.
“You can never go wrong with the hotel, this is the second time I have stayed at one and each time I have left feeling wonderful. I think their gym was outstanding. The location cannot be any better. Walk out the doors onto the San Antonio Riverwalk boardw”

- The location, physical attributes, comfort, and ambience are all excellent.
- The maid was way too persistent at 9:30 a.m. While I was getting dressed.
“The Hyatt is a wonderful hotel. My only negative comment involves a member of its housekeeping staff. She knocked on our door (room 369)at 9:30 while I was getting dressed. I acknowledged her without opening the door, and I was quite certain she heard me. She knocked again, and I felt compelled to get up and open the door. She asked if we were checking out that day. This was quite an upsetting inconvenience since I was half-clothed and in the process of applying make-up. My husband was out getting a newspaper.”

- Excellent location on the river walk. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable.
- The room was not ready at the time promised.
“The hotel earned the 4 star rating it has. While the room was not ready an hour after it was promised, it was a large room and comfortable. The air conditioner seemed to only have one speed so the room was not as cool as we like but still tolerable. The location, on the river walk made access to the many shops and dinning spots very easy. The staff was friendly and very helpful.”

- My wife and I loved the night view of downtown while in the outdoor Jacuzzi/pool on the 11th floor.
- The lower part of nightstand was very dusty. If it wasn't for my allergies, I wouldn't have mind.
“The service at the hotel was awesome and extremely quick. The employees give you royal treatment and acknowledge you by your last name, total respect! A hotel with class. Pricy, but you get what you pay for and more, just step outside the hotel and all of downtown is there. The stay is worth the money and the experience.”
