• Location adjacent to River Walk. Out door balcony.
• No breakfast included with stay.

“Quiet and romantic room with balcony facing the Tower of the Americas. Very short distance to River Walk. Staff was friendly but few.”

• I loved the courtyard and the wonderful birds.

• Location was great. The balcony in the room was very nice. The room was clean and very spacious.
• Internet was not included in the price nor was self-parking. Internet was $12 a day and parking $21 very expensive.

“The staff was not the friendliest. Coffee downstairs was in the lobby but was not complimentary. Felt they nickeled and dimmed us for everything. Parking was very convenient but expensive. Location was great and the rooms were very nice. Due to the above negative aspects will probably not stay in a Marriott again.”

• The bed was comfortable.
• The location was not on the River Walk.

“My wife and I were quite disappointed with the location of the hotel. The hotel is nice, but only slightly better than a La Quinta Inn. The location claimed to be right on the River Walk based on my parameter selections when it was in fact about 2 blocks away.”

• The outdoor grounds and historic setting.

“A nice looking facility but due to the above under recommendations, I felt it fell short for a convenient, family friendly stay; we had to go out of our way to get the things that are often available in room or nearby; also the computers in the business center were down so we were unable to print boarding passes. The bar and restaurant did, however meet and exceed expectations for quality.”

• Room was huge! Liked the peacocks.
• Bathtub and sink did not drain well

“Staff attention seemed pleasant but indifferent. Our room key wouldn't work, so they just kept making new ones. After four unsuccessful trips between our room and the desk, I made the clerk come with us--she couldn't open the door either. Had to get housekeeping to do it.I hate it when the tub won't drain--standing ankle-deep in the shower, yuk!”

“We had a lovely and romantic evening. We enjoyed the free roaming pheasants and peacocks from our well-appointed balcony. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. Large bath was nice.”

• Very nice courtyard.
• They now charge for coffee in the lobby.... just started doing this.

“This is a great hotel for business traveler and for families. It's not on RiverWalk, but very short walk to it and also short walk to King Williams area.”

• The staff was prompt and attentive.
• Was looking for a four star and it was closer to a courtyard Marriott with a little nicer room.

“By all means it was not romantic. For a business traveler and couples with children it is perfect! But i was looking to get away with my husband and no kids and have a four star experience and this is not the place. The hotel has very clean and nice rooms the staff was great just not what we were looking for that time.”

• Bed was super comfy, friendly staff and loved the location, just a couple blocks from the Riverwalk.
• Pool was dirty and the parking was ridiculously expensive.

“We loved the location, just a couple blocks from the Riverwalk. The bed was very comfortable; I can't stop talking about it. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was disappointed with the pool. After a long day on the Riverwalk, we wanted to come back to the hotel and enjoy the pool, but it was very dirty. I would definitely stay here again and tell my friends about it. Not sure I would stay for what the hotel originally charge, but we got a good deal for the weekend.”

“Very clean and off the Riverwalk. This is a plus because it was peaceful and relaxing. Riverwalk was only a couple blocks away. The restaurant pool was very good.”

• Very attractive decor in the room - I think they recently remodeled. Comfortable bed.
• Very hard to find a parking space at night.

“Nice, friendly staff. One of the better night's sleep I've gotten in a hotel. Romantic room, with very soft bedding and throw pillows. Marble bathroom with Bath & Bodywork Orange Ginger products. Carpet was obviously new and felt silky underfoot. We felt very secure. Pool looked nice (no bells & whistles for kids, but relaxing space for adults), but didn't have time to go for a swim. Only 2 drawbacks - no mini-fridge and parking was a hassle. The night we got there (10pm), we had to wait for somebody to leave the lot in order to get a parking space unless you wanted to do valet parking. Once we were in the space, we decided to use the trolley to get around to eliminate dealing with the parking issue. The gated entry into the parking lot was also a hassle.”

• The staff was very friendly, our bed smelled badly they immediately moves us to another room.
• The hotel was not convenient it was too far from everything we actually changed hotels the next day for a closer location.

“The hotel was nice but you had to walk along ways just to do anything. The elevators were very slow we even tried elevators in another location and they were just as slow.”

• I loved our room. The bed was really comfortable.
• I saw a peacock eating off of an outside restaurant table.

“This hotel was perfect after a long day in the car. It was a few blocks from the San Antonio Riverwalk. The decor of the room was so warm and inviting. The bed was super comfortable with lots of pillows. The room was extremely clean. I would stay there again in a flash!”

“I liked hoe the hotel was smaller and had beautiful old San Antonio design. Was a little upset because I asked for on riverwalk during search and the hotel was 3 big blocks away. We have young kids so it was a walk just to get to the walk. I think for a wedding or event it would be beautiful.”

• There was a white peacock in the courtyard. Each morning, there was Starbucks coffee for guests in the lobby.
• The staff was not knowledgeable about the area. Room curtains/chair dirty.

“Parking cost $21 a day for self parking across the street. The elevator was not functioning properly and I did not feel safe using it. The gym was nice. The property had beautiful historical qualities. I enjoyed the gym.”

• The hotel was in a good location to the Riverwalk as well as other historical sites.

“The hotel rooms were very nicely decorated and very clean. Although the pool was a little dirty from the trees we still used it and enjoyed a late afternoon swim. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions to the various attractions.”

• Staff at all levels was customer focused and friendly.

“We found the staff at all levels helpful and friendly. The hotel is very well maintained. The grounds are beautiful. We had to pay to park which is understandable for the area (River Walk), but I take internet for granted in an economy motel. I was surprised to be charged $12.95 for a day for this service.”

• Balcony overlooking pool.
• First room - no bed. Checked me out early and banged on door.

“Staff courteous, though relatively incompetent. I was checked in to a room with no bed at 11:30 at night and had to drag all my luggage back down to the lobby. I was then checked out 3 days early by someone at the front desk, was awakened by housekeeping banging on the door (even though there was a do not disturb sign) and was finally called by the front desk. All facilities were old/dated.”

• The breakfast buffet was excellent, but a bit pricey.
• They wanted $12.95 a day for wireless internet.

“The ice in the ice machines was dirty. I even tried a different floor, but you could see the dirt particles in the ice, so I'm guessing the ice machines needed to be cleaned. We were given one of the few rooms without a balcony. It was right by the elevators and in front of an area that is used for parties. Needless to say, it was very noisy late into the night. The room was quite small, but otherwise comfortable.”

“I was on a trip for both business and leisure. This hotel is great for a business stay. As far as leisure is concerned, I wouldn't recommend it if you're planning to relax. You can hear through the walls and the balconies aren't very private. We ordered room service for breakfast - great food and prompt! Overall the room was clean and had tons of space. There were mirrors both inside and outside the bathroom, which was extremely helpful when it came to two people getting ready. Finally, for a Marriott, I expected a more comfortable bed, but it wasn't bad.”
