• The lobby area was nice.
• Door that opens out to the outside was poorly sealed and wind whistled all night.

“Overall it was a good experience, not real impressed with the door in the room that opened to the outside, didn't fit well against the other door and the door in the bathroom was always in the way when you were in there, unless you closed it. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, really didn't spend much time in the room.”

“Wireless internet did not work. Fire alarm went off at 5 am. Hotel smelled like wet mildew, so I assume there was a leak that was not cleaned up. Staff unfriendly.”

“This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Unique architecture with a beautiful courtyard and walk way right out the double doors. Beautiful everything. Served the best warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival and departure.”

• The rooms overall are very nice and we enjoyed having a room overlooking a courtyard and pool area.
• The beds seemed rather small? Air conditioner was not working.

“The hotel was fine, good atmosphere and nice rooms. Room Service was prompt and friendly as well as tasty. The beds seemed very small and all of us had a hard time sleeping. The air conditioner was not working well and the room was way to warm.”

• We were having problems with the tub draining while taking a shower and toilet not flushing properly.

“I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The only problems were with the bathroom. While taking a shower the tub was not draining the water (maybe clogged) and the toilet had to be flushed multiple times.”

• It was in the exact location I was looking for.
• It was a smaller than normal room and difficult to move about with the kids.

“The place was clean and nice, just very small, especially the bathrooms. It was difficult with more than one person. Better for a single business traveler.”

• The location was great for shopping and airport travel.
• Pool closed and construction on our floor.

“If there is not any construction going on I would highly recommend this hotel. The location was great for airport travel, the mall is across the street and the hotel is very nice. The beds were very comfortable!”

“Hotel is lovely. They are putting in new carpeting, but there was minimal inconvenience. The road work on 410 outside made getting to the hotel a little difficult. Signage a mile or two on either side of the hotel would help to not miss the exit.”

• The room was very nice.
• There was very loud bunch of girls in the room next to us and they kept us up almost all night. Despite several calls to front desk.

“Every thing was nice except for the girls next door to us. They were yelling and talking very loudly at 2 am so we called front with no effect and continued until 4 or 5 am. We would return if we were assured a quieter room or quieter neighbors.”

• The hotel has a veranda/walkway with French doors that overlook the pool and garden - a beautiful scene.
• I didn't dislike the bar and restaurant but expected it to be more upscale.

• The inside courtyard was very nice.
• The room service personnel were not friendly.

“The room I stayed in had a view of part of the roof and a freeway. When I opened the window to get some air, (because the a/c was not working very well) the metal bars outside the window electrocuted me. (They must have been touching an exposed electric wire outside) I tried to order from room service, the man on the phone taking my order was very curt and rude, as well as the man that brought the food. There is a lot of construction going on for the freeway in front of the hotel, and it is hard to maneuver the streets to get to it. The bathroom was the size of a closet. But at least, the room was clean.”

• The location was great, it had a nice work out facility and the staff was very friendly.
• The court yard was too beautiful.

“I wish I would have discovered this hotel years ago with my many trips to San Antonio I would have stayed here each time. Hopefully I will be in San Antonio again and I will return to the DoubleTree. The staff, location, court yard, work out facility, beds, pillows I could go on and on were all superior to the other hotels I have stayed at in San Antonio. And It was clean. The spa was a great addition. One of the staff member was very knowledgeable and we had a great facials and massages. She accommodated us with the time and called us back in a timely manner. Superior.”

• I had no sleep because of a wedding party going on bad.

“Hotel was excellent but there was a wedding party going on and I was unable to sleep until 2 am, because of that I was unable to have a day next day, sleep in and got nothing done what I wanted to. I complained to staff. Several guests there had the same problem. It was disappointing that one party could ruin the stay of many. Bad on the Doubletree.”

• I had to stay in a handicapped room. Construction at the hotel.

“The Doubletree is a nice hotel. The lobby area is inviting. There was always someone there to open the door. The rooms are spacious. The only drawback was that in order to get a king bed room I had to stay in a handicap accessible room. My room was also right next to the big banquet room and there was a wedding going on. It got a little noisy.”

• The front desk manager's refusal to help.

“The hotel seemed perfect, until my items were taken from the room. The manager stated the items were picked up by the maid. The cheapest item was returned to us, but the most expensive is still missing - how convenient. The front desk manager was completely unhelpful and has yet to call as promised "within 48 hours." I don't recommend leaving anything of value in your room.”

• In-room coffee was horrible.

• Some areas of hotel were dingy - a little run down - like the elevators and restroom off the front lobby.

• So noisy neither of us could sleep.

“This is our second stay at this hotel. The first stay was wonderful, and we loved it. This time we were in a different room, and there was noise from everywhere - next door, the hallway, even upstairs. We did not sleep at all.”

• I love the doubletree cookies. Comfy beds.
• Cold lobby. This was the only space to access free internet.

“I loved this hotel when I lived in San Antonio but construction on 410 is a nightmare! Also, it was unseasonably cold during our visit and rather than pay the in room fee for internet access, we had to sit in a really cold lobby to use the free internet access.”

• The room was spacious and the waitress and bartender offered excellent service.
• The rest of the staff was barely polite, the cleaning lady touched a lot of surface without actually cleaning it, poor internet service, etc.

“When not under construction, this hotel is clearly lovely. With exception of the evening bartender and waitress, the staff is barely polite. The do not offer information without specific, correctly worded questions being directed at them. The bellhop waits in the lobby until someone pulls up, then promptly vanishes as though busy. The internet provider is a joke. You don't have to bother to pay the $10 a day for internet in your room because they can't provide it anyway. The wireless service in the lobby is overrun with business people needing internet service. Overall, the rooms are comfortable and pleasant. If you don't need or expect above and beyond service and don't need internet service, this is a nice place to stay with easy access to major businesses and the airport.”

• The staff was attentive to my needs.
• The room was not cleaned daily and there is ongoing construction.

“The staff at the Doubletree are very nice, but the construction sort of takes away from the stay. I found that the rooms were not really cleaned on a daily basis when I put medicine into a glass and when I returned the bathroom to use a glass which was covered by there paper, it had the same medicine in it. I also found a sprite bottle under my bed; neither me nor my wife brought the bottle into the room. The room is convenient to food, shopping and Downtown and that sort of made up for a lot.”
