• Location.

• Super location; nice premises.
• Parking is difficult; I don't recommend it for driving travelers.

“The O'Brien is very nice - our room was attractive, quite clean, and the staff was very helpful. While we did not eat breakfast there, it looked very tempting. The only disappointment was the parking facility. They can accommodate about 25 cars, and travelers must be in early to ensure a parking spot.”

• Location close to Riverwalk.
• Poor furnishings, lack of privacy, poor staff, no parking.

“No parking, room service, pool, private balcony, or decent bathroom. Cramped rooms, tiny bathrooms, and only a door window for the room with a terrible blind (we had to stack pillows, hang clothing to block out the light). Noisy location, unfriendly staff, and in general, a location with promise but terrible management and poor maintenance/repairs.”

• The hotel was perfect for an overnight trip.
• The parking is a problem as there is only one small lot with about 15 spaces.

“The hotel is pretty convenient to downtown attractions, but don't get caught out late without cash in hand for public parking, because the hotel lot will be full. Plan on walking to all close attractions.”

• Free coffee from the coffee machine.
• Smell, small room, dining area, no window view, workout room, bathroom.

“This hotel is only good to sleep in. Room was very small with no area to move around. Bathroom is very small. Work out room is actually in a small shack outside in the back parking lot of the hotel, unsafe. We got our free continental breakfast on the first floor and had to go to the second floor to eat it on some uncomfortable chairs and tables. The balcony view looks out into the back hotel parking lot. The hotel had an old dirty wet towel smell. The only good comment I can give was the free coffee from the coffee machine.”

• We were close to the Riverwalk.
• No remote to the TV, difficult parking. Small room.

“We have stayed in many Riverwalk hotels. I would not choose this one again. It is a very small hotel and might be good for seniors that rise early and do not want a swimming pool. The La Quinta across from the Alamo is a much better value. I expected more for the money that we spent.”

• Located within walking distance of Riverwalk, Alamo, tower of Americas and more.
• Almost no parking - be prepared to park somewhere else and walk.

“This hotel is nice looking on the inside, but the bathrooms are incredibly small and not comfortable. Parking is a disaster and the hotel was hard to find.”

• I liked the proximity of the hotel. We parked and walked everywhere. It was very convenient.
• We arrived early and found a parking spot fortunately, but we did hear several guests complain about the parking situation.

“We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It was very close to the Riverwalk and around the corner from La Villita. Our room was pretty small, but we were out all day so it didn't really matter. The continental breakfast was good too!”

• Location was good and room was very nice.
• Parking (hotel only had a tiny space. We had to pay at a public lot.).

“The hotel itself was nice. It had been remodeled and the room was quite good. There was a major problem with parking. If you were someone riding from the airport in a taxi, it would not be an issue. But we had traveled in our personal vehicle. The hotel had a tiny lot and it was full. We had to park in a public lot, and had to pay each time we left and came back.”

• The rooms are GREAT!
• The parking is across the street.

“Excellent place to stay. The rooms are excellent and the location is great. The only comment would be that the breakfast station is right by the lobby and the tables are located in second floor. Great overall experience.”

• The older Victorian setting that was slightly part the hotel's artistic atmosphere.
• The room was rather small. There was not a small refrigerator for your cold beverages to stay chilled.

“The location to the Riverwalk is good and the $10 parking is a bonus for Downtown San Antonio. We took advantage of the complimentary breakfast and relaxed on the lobbies on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The rooms were small for 2 queen beds, but we were at the hotel only to sleep, anyway. We will stay there again.”

• Location is awesome. Bathrooms are very nice. Looks nicer from the inside than from the outside.
• Parking is $10. When we were there the fire alarm went on by mistake and they couldn't turn it off which was annoying.

“I will definitely go back to this hotel on my next visit to San Antonio. The location is very good and it is very attractive regarding prices in comparison to other hotels in this area.”

• It was historic. I am a history major.
• There is no pool or lounge area.

“This is a good hotel if you are looking for somewhere just off the river. It is a very short walk to the river but yet you have to walk through a lot of bus stops where people are just hanging out.”

• Free parking in a very busy Downtown area, located an easy walk to River walk, good breakfast, small and very adequate room.
• The help was very good, but not very knowledgeable about San Antonio - roads, events going on etc.

“Recommend it highly to anyone traveling who wanted be near the River walk, but not in a very expensive big chain. Parking was free and great. They stored our bags for the day while we toured and we left the car parked for free too.”

“The room was very hot and the old air conditioner didnt work well. The window to the room could not be locked because the old lock had been broken. The toilet ran the whole time we were there. I went down the fire exit stairs and found all kinds of storage under the stairs, including chemicals (Big Time Fire Hazard).”

• They charge $10.00 per day for parking.

“Good hotel, good location. Biggest downfall, they charge their guest $10.00 per day to park at their hotel. Parking is also limited (only 20 parking spaces). If you pay for your parking and you leave the lot, you may not have a spot when you get back and they will not refund your $10!”

“I loved the hotel room. It was very lovely and comfortable. However, the location and parking was horrible. It took 45 minutes to find a parking spot. There is not enough spots and they charge $10 a day for parking. That wasn't so bad, but there was no place to pull up and check in. There area is very congested with traffic and I had to drive around for 45 minutes to find a spot because other areas that offered parking were full. The room made up for all the aggravation in the end.”

• Very good downtown location at a good price.
• Very limited on-site parking. Not enough spaces for all rooms.

“A nice "boutique" hotel (older hotel redone by a hotel chain.) Rooms were small but comfortable, and ideal for downtown San Antonio visitors like us that really only used the room to sleep in. Parking is a BIG problem. The hotel has 39 rooms, but probably fewer than 20 parking spaces. Do what we did - grab a space, walk or take the bus/trolley, and keep your space until you leave!”

• The location and amenities were fabulous! We would also stay there again.
• I was very unhappy for paying 20 dollars for parking!

“The hotel does not look attractive from the outside. The hotel lobby is so small, that I initially thought we were not in a hotel. However, the location (all attractions pretty much walking distance), the friendliness of staff, the cleanliness of the facility and our room, plus the nice coffee maker (different choices, e.g. Latte, decaf, etc.) And free continental breakfast downstairs made our hotel stay comfortable (and oh, there's coffee maker in our room too, a hair dryer, 2 bathrobes and decent toiletries). I will recommend this place to friends/relatives and will use again if given the chance.”

• The place was filthy, mold on the shower curtain. There was a gap in the door to the balcony about an inch wide. A boy scout with a pocket knife could.

“Horrible beyond all belief. The first night there was an insect, about 2 to 3 inches long crawling on the ceiling above the bed. The night manager came in and "escorted" it out of the room. I told him that it came into our room thru the gap in the door that led to the outside. He said he would have it fixed (it never was, he lied). The next morning we noticed that the shower curtain was covered with mold (my wife has allergy induced asthma) I asked that the shower curtain be replaced. We were told that it couldn't be replaced until the next day. That day I had to almost threaten them to get our room made up. At 7 pm it was done. We still did not have a shower curtain. I had to take the curtain off and go down to the lobby where a lot of people were having breakfast and dump it on the lobby desk and demand a clean shower curtain. What a horrid place. I took pictures of the moldy curtain and the gap in the door and would be glad to send them to you.”

“This hotel is in a great location for everything. You can walk to the river walk, only minutes away from the zoo and highway to go to Sea World, which is about 15 minutes away. Very quiet, clean & queen size beds, instead of your standard doubles. Easy check in & out with friendly people.”

• Very convenient to central San Antonio and Convention Center.
• Parking was minimal at hotel with a 10 dollar a day fee.

“A very nice and quite place for the most part. Nights were quite, hotel well appointed, and staff helpful. Breakfast was acceptable although I wish there had been some sort of breakfast room. Stepped out on side walk and ate at a couple tables outside. Most took it back to room. Wife and I were there three evening and enjoyed the overall experience. I'll probably do it again in a few months.”

• To high priced for poor parking, noisy room, and cramped.

“I would not recommend this hotel. It rained while we were there and it leaked badly over the front entrance. There was very little parking and we were charged for it. The room was to cramped and it was very noisy from outside. There was nowhere to sit when having the continental breakfast, which was minimal.”

“The staff member at the front desk was not very friendly. I was not happy about having to pay $10 to park in the hotel's parking lot. The room was nice and clean but the bathroom door would not open all the way because of the bath-tub. The hotel was very convenient to downtown attractions, however.”

“This hotel had a horrible location, as the police officer stated after I had to file a report due to a damaged car "just two years ago this place had two people hanging around, thugs and cops." the service was horribly poor and after the sign in the room stated that it came with a 100% money promise, they negated that and refused to refund anything after I left there with 800.00 in car damage from poor lighting in the parking lot.”

• Nice and quaint. The rooms were nicely decorated and the balcony was an added bonus.
• The rooms didn't have a microwave and refrigerator. That would have been a plus.

• The staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful.
• The room had two double beds. One of the beds had old sheets on it. It grossed me out.

“Overall the people were good. The people did the best that they could. I was disappointed by the dirty sheets, lack of movie channels. If I had to I would stay in this hotel again, but it would definitely not be my first choice.”
