• My first room was on the first floor about 15 feet from the street.

“There are more amenities at 2 star hotels. Charged for wired internet, valet parking was mandatory at $30 a night, refrigerator was stocked with overpriced drinks but no room to put your own stuff.”

• Mansion del Rio is a beautiful hotel that gives you period ambiance with modern conveniences.
• Our room was a little noisy. Loud crying baby next door.

• I could look out my balcony and see the river walk.
• All the outside noise stopped around 3am.

“This hotel was great, it looked nice. My room had 3 balconies. One which overlooked the courtyard and street, the other 2 overlooked the street and river walk and was right across the street from a starbucks. The pool was sort of smallish but went down to 8 feet, and it was nicely located. The elevators were slow though and the parking across the street is convenient and cheap.”

• Helpful & friendly staff. Entertainment by pool was great idea for kids to enjoy.
• Didn't get room I wanted-view of river walk & got 1 bed had to get a roll away bed & no free parking/breakfast/lunch/dinner.Pool closed early.

• It was in the middle of all the fun. Resturants and bars were right out side the hotel.
• Would be nice to know ahead of time that they were going to hold a 50 dollar deposit.

“We went for my 50th birthday. It could not have been nicer. After the reviews I've seen of less than a nine, all I can say is that there are no perfect hotels. They all have a few faults. The staff at the Mansion Del Rio is quick to respond to your every need, from the Bellmen to the Concierge to the food to the staff. Everything was absolutely spot on. The main dining room is fabulous, 3 levels inside to outside. The ambiance is total romance. If trees obstructing your view, and small rooms is all you can talk about, then stay home. This hotel and the surrounding businesses treat people like royalty. They know full well that if you're staying on the Riverwalk, then you are choosing to spend your discretionary income with them and they appreciate that. I cannot thank the staff at the Mansion Del Rio and the surrounding businesses for the way we were treated during our stay. Were going again very soon. If you want a cheap hotel with free coffee, then stay at Motel 6. If you know class when you see it and appreciate it, then stay at the Mansion Del Rio.”

• Location, friendly , clean, helpful, beatiful
• The air conditioning in our room did not cool as well as I would have liked.

“My stay in this hotel was enjoyable. The elevator accessing our room was under inspection at the time of our trip and could not be used. The inconvenience of having to use the stairs or another elevator was minimal. the air conditioning in our room did not cool the room duriing the day, but we erequested a box fan and this made it much more comfortable.”

• Large, stylish rooms.
• Did not have a good dining area. You had to eat at the bar or in the lobby.

“Nice hotel concept for a Hyatt. Small lobby and limited eating available. Should think about having a nicer restaurant, because there is not much in the area. The rooms were very nice and roomy. Big screen tv was nice. The hotel staff were very friendly.”

• They put us in construction area that was closed down.

“A lot of things needed repair, but the staff was quick to respond. They did put us in an area that was closed down for repairs and we were rudely awoken at 7 am while they were working on the elevator directly next to our room. I felt this was because we booked through Priceline. They did upgrade us to a room looking over the River Walk.”

• Location was excellent, very friendly staff.
• $38 valet parking. Use the $7 parking garage across the street.

“The staff was so nice. We were greeted by 2 doormen than immediately gifted to my two boys, 9 and 4, a backpack filled with little treats. They were thrilled. In fact, my 4 year old carried his toys around the whole weekend in the Omni backpack. The front desk clerk, Andrew, was also amazing. He gave us a room right on the River walk. The boys were entertained with watching the folks walking along the river. The room was very nice and comfortable. The boys didn't want to leave.”

“When taking the riverboat tour of the Riverwalk I noticed a beautiful hotel overlooking the water and wanted to stay there from that time on. This has been our second stay and we are thrilled with the wonderful staff, beautiful surroundings and I cannot think of another place I would like to stay when we come into San Antonio. It is a lovely hotel and we enjoy entertaining our family and friends in the relaxing courtyard before dinner at the hotel, the food and service are wonderful.”

• Good location, beautiful room and comfortable.
• No housekeeping, cold room service coffee and no staff.

“This is a wonderful hotel right on the River Walk. BUT, the hotel has the worst service of any place I have ever stayed. The room service coffer was cold three days in a row, we had no housekeeping (had to ask for towels, soap, tissue paper, etc). If you just need a place to sleep and and can do without even the basic services. This is the place. Too bad, this is a beautiful hotel right on the River Walk, but that is all it is.”

• Someone smoked in hall and talked all night. Staff did nothing to resolve matter. Room smelled like smoke!

“Hotel needs to mandate no smoking in facility and not allow people to congregate in hall, smoking and talking loudly during the night. Hotel security needs to step up. my room smelled like cigarette smoke because people were allowed to smoke in the halls and they talked loudly the entire night! I am shocked by this hotel!”

• Very elegant. Rooms were clean and decorated beautifully.
• We were close to the elevator. Heard a compressor all night. Did mention it to the staff at the front desk but they didn't seem to care.

• The staff was OK except the cleaning staff.
• Very noisy, dirty and the room itself was very disappointing.

“My wife and stayed at this hotel for two days to get out of Dallas and unwind. The small, dirty, loud room made this a trip to forget. The bathroom was very dirty with mold and hair everywhere. If going to the river walk I would recommend one of the other fine hotels in the area. Parking was very costly as was the room for what you got.”

• Great location on the River walk.
• Musty odor in lower level hallway leading from driveway.

“Great location, comfortable room, but not fancy. The layout is somewhat odd because if you are on one side of the hotel the most direct path to the lobby is going outside across the driveway. But overall a good experience.”

• The hotel was lovely, bed was very comfortable. I am a woman and felt very safe.

“I will visit this hotel again, hopefully on a pleasure trip. I understand pets are allowed and I look forward to bringing my small dog with us next time. The river walk is beautiful and romantic place to come home to. The staff was very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable.”

• Very romantic, on the Riverwalk, did not have to drive anywhere.
• No microwave.

• Location was nice.
• Small room, and noisy.

“The hotel is very nice outside and in. The rooms are tiny. The food from room service is awful and of course expensive. The location on the Riverwalk is great but the front door of the rooms are glass with a window next to it. So you have one wall that is all glass. Great if you have a view but bad if you want to sleep. It made it very noisy. I woke several times due to outside noise.”

“A historic hotel located in the heart of downtown San Antonio along the twisting section of the river which began as a catholic school in the 1800s. The Mansion Del Rio is very convenient to all of the attractions in the center of San Antonio such as the historic Alamo and Henry Gonzales Convention Center. Some of the hotel's rooms have balconies overlooking the Riverwalk and the hotel's Los Canarias restaurant is with friendly and helpful staff. The only negative was a very slow elevator in the wing of the La Mansion Del Rio where I was staying, something that might benefit from some maintenance calibration. Otherwise the Mansion Del Rio is highly recommended and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again on a future visit to San Antonio.”

• They handed the kids gift bags, and milk and cookies at night.
• Kind of noisy in the courtyard area.

“This hotel was great for a family trip to the riverwalk. The Omni treated the kids extra special and they loved it. Room service milk and cookies at night was their favorite. Access to the Riverwalk was super easy and the hotel was right in the heart of the riverwalk. The boat tour guide even mentioned the hotel. The only negative was that our rooms opened out the back onto the swimming pool/courtyard and there was quite a lot of people noise even until late at night.”

• The staff, location, & overall look is amazing!

“When we first arrived, the valet attendant was very helpful with everything and even gave us some information about the hotel and amenities offered. The front desk was very friendly and got us check-in very fast. Our room was very clean and well decorated. The only thing I would change would be the bathtub, It's rather small compared to the larger Oval tubs that are more common today. Overall, the Omni is a wonderful.”

“The Omni La Mansion was a fabulous hotel. It's location on the River Walk is perfect with the pedestrian bridge at its back door. Staff was invisible in the best way and allowed the guests to enjoy their stay unmolested.”
