• Small, terribly rough sheets, room away from best part of hotel.

“Stuck in another building away from River walk and main part of hotel. Sheets were thin and itchy, horrible bed. Very small, bathroom tiny. The rest of hotel may be 4 star, but the building we were in was not!”

• Parking was not free.

“The hotel was nice, but I did not like how parking is not free. Also, I felt a bit crammed in the room. The air conditioner didn't seem to work, it was either too hot or too cold, and the temperature on the thermostat didn't seem to match was the room temperature actually felt like. Overall it was nice since we were on the Riverwalk, the parking was the only thing. Valet was 28.00 a night, and if not you had to park across the street and drag your luggage across the street. Parking there was 7.00 a night.”

• Absolutely no offensive smells or stains.
• We entered from the River walk and closest room door did not accept key had to walk around the block of rooms to enter.

“Quiet, lovely hotel with lots of charm and close to all the amenities that we were looking for. Clean with attentive, pleasant staff. I have stayed at the nearby Marriott River walk and this stopped that experience.”

“This historic hotel is well maintained, but some of the decor in the rooms is dated. Be sure to ask for a river-view room or you may be disappointed. If traveling on business or you have a need to stay connected, plan to visit the Starbucks a block away for internet as there was poor or non-existent service in the room. Pancakes at breakfast were not edible. For a 4-star rated hotel, I expected a little more.”

• The hotel staff, location, cleanliness, restaurant, decor, overall very pleased.
• The riverfront room was a little cramped at the French door (the desk chair had to be moved).

• Great location with fun activities right outside the door. River walk was awesome, great architecture also.
• The parking was too expensive and not enough economical parking choices nearby.

• You must get outside to catch the elevator and it can be windy!

• The door to the room was a glass French door that any thief could walk by and sees that the occupants were away.

• Proximity to Riverwalk. Alamo, streetcars. the Spanish Colonial Architecture.
• We requested "non-smoking room" and room completely smelled of old smoke, we were told they just switched the whole hotel over to all non-smoking.

“Hotel was absolutely beautiful: architecturally, clean, close to all major sights, staff courteous. we had non-smoking room but everything "reeked" of old smoke-had to keep opening balcony doors for fresh air; but front desk told me they just transitioned over to all non-smoking. My opinion---replace all linens cushioned furniture. But overall I'd stay there again in a heartbeat! Restaurant at hotel was way over priced, many more just as nice eateries close by.”

• The hotel was lovely and perfect location for the river walk.
• Bath and sink areas were dirty. Glasses and coffee cups had to be washed before use.

“I really would have liked more time at this hotel. We arrived too late to use the heated pool or dining area. The room (although tiny) was wonderfully appointed and oh so comfortable. The staff was great. The Watermark Spa and Pasca restaurant are located just across the river walk. Pasca has a delightful menu making decisions tough. They also offer after hours room service for omni.”

• Location on the river! Nice bathroom.
• Small room, one king instead of 2 double beds, no coffee maker that worked, lots of noise and street traffic.

“There is probably a vast difference between the rooms we got vs. The rooms closer to the river. It was not worth the discounted price.”

“Stayed for 2 nights. Bed was quite comfortable and room was clean. Park across the street in parking garage for a lower rate. Also, if you stay at any omni be sure to join the select guest program before you arrive for extra perks (late check out & complimentary drinks every morning).”

• It is an older hotel; however they have done an excellent job upgrading.

“This is one of the best hotels to stay in San Antonio. Extremely friendly staff and you step straight out onto river walk. No workout facility, but they have arrangements with hotel across the street. My son stayed with me on my business trip and had a great time as well.”

• The blankets on the bed were too heavy.

“It was difficult to get comfortable at night as the blankets were very heavy and the sheets were pulled very tight over the bed. Extra pillows were a challenge to find.”

• Loved the old feeling of the hotel.
• I did not like my room.

“I liked the hotel and was excited to be staying at Omni La Mansion but I was disappointed in the room. They threw us in a room on 1st floor with a brick wall (which was okay) but no window. I also called them to request double bed and they didn't do it, we got stuck with a king size bed in a room too small for king size bed. So they rolled in a rollaway bed which meant now the room was really small. But, we wanted a River view room with the balcony.”

“I think the hotel is very nice; however, I think it's is too noise to stay on the low level. If we stay on the low level, the room should be charge cheaper.”

• It was right on the river walk and the hotel was beautiful and historic.
• Our room was facing a busy street.

“It's a beautiful historic hotel with Spanish architecture. The staff was very helpful. Our room was overlooking a courtyard which was by a busy street with lots of noise, but our room door was double-paned so it was fairly quiet. The bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay!”

• The hotel was in a great location and had wonderful service people.
• The halls to the rooms were extremely hot and because the hotel was older the a/c in the rooms did not work well.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an older romantic getaway for the weekend. Great service and a great location to downtown San Antonio.”

“My wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary here. It was amazing from the time we checked in. The hotel offers a friendly atmosphere, great architecture and ambiance that kept us smiling the entire stay. Omni La Mansion Del Rio gave us a trip we will never forget, and we will definitely be going back.”

• Valet parking is too expensive.

“Aside from the expensive valet service. Check-in was very efficient. The reception was very friendly and the attendant was very informative and well-dressed. The decor is enchanting as you walk to your suite. Room service was very timely and housekeeping were professional.”

“This was a great hotel to stay in. My wife and I enjoyed our time there. They are very stingy when it comes to doing anything extra. Overall, other than a few minor glitches, I am very happy with the experience though, and my wife and I would go back again if we have the opportunity.”

• We found a giant hairball that was stopping up the drain in the shower.

“Check-in was extremely easy and we arrived at 3:00 am. The staff was very nice. We asked for extra pillows and got them immediately. We did not receive housekeeping service our first full day there until we left the room for dinner; but when they did clean, they provided the turn-down service. Our second night, a child defecated in the pool - I'm not sure how that was handled, but as a parent whose children were also swimming at the time, I found it to be absolutely disgusting. The shower in our room was leaving about two inches of standing water in the bath tub, so I reached down into the drain and pulled out a considerable mass of hair (which I also found disgusting). I took it to the front desk and asked if they could perhaps run some bleach or dissolving agent down the drain. I was told that they would take care of it. When we returned to the room that night, there was a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries for us. We did order room service for dinner one night and the fellow that delivered it was incredibly nice. We had problems with our television and remote, which was also serviced. The movie that we had ordered skipped ahead several times after we paused it for our children, so the front desk credited us for it since we had so many issues with the television throughout the night. The people were very courteous, attentive, and polite. We will definitely stay there again when we visit San Antonio.”

“We were so happy with our room. Upon arrival we asked if we could be upgraded to a river view room. We were placed in a standard deluxe room, which was recently remodeled. It was more beautiful and comfortable than we ever expected. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, nice, polite and accommodating. Wonderful hotel!”

• The concierges were very friendly and very helpful.
• The hotel management told us that we got a really good rate on our room so we shouldn't complain about the construction noise in our room at 7 a.m.

“The hotel is in a nice location. The rooms are mostly nice. They are doing renovations so some rooms are nicer than others. The pool is very small, but you can use their sister properties pool and hot tub. Over all it was a good experience, even though they held the price we paid for our room over our head if we had any complaints.”

• The architecture of the hotel was beautiful and in line with the history of the city.
• The room faced a busy street that was very loud at 2 am after the bars were let out.

“La Mansion was a beautiful Spanish style hotel. The valet attendant, concierge, and hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Excellent location for people on vacation wanting to see the River Walk and Alamo. I would definitely stay there again.”
