• The bed was wonderful, and the bathroom was huge.
• We had to reactivate our key every time we used it.

• The bedding was awesome!
• Service to get rollaway and extra blankets.

“Overall the hotel was wonderful. However, when we checked in, we were told that we would have a rollaway delivered immediately. At 9:30 that night, we still did not have one and were at first told that we wouldn't get one as they were all given away. Shortly after that, one appeared at our door. Then, we called down and asked for an extra blanket and it took two phone calls and 1 hour to get it and it was midnight by this time. Much too late for children to be awake waiting on blankets.”

• Thin walls, bogus charges on bill.

“This hotel put bogus honor bar charges on my bill, had paper thin walls between rooms, required that we check out after the first night and re-check in to keep the same room, and had keys that kept losing their code, requiring a trip to the front desk and a wait in line every time.”

• Being able to walk out the back door of the hotel and being on the river walk.
• The front entrance is difficult to find if you don't know what you're looking for.

“This hotel was beautiful. The lobby is very elegant, the lounge was nice and the rooms were quite comfortable and clean. It is on a quieter end of the river walk, but just a short walk to all the restaurants and bars. We really enjoyed our stay.”

• The two outdoor lounges on the main level that overlooked the river were worth the cost of the room.
• The staff I interacted with was cordial, but short of "customer-oriented".

“Excellent value, access to the river walk and its restaurants. The parking service was somewhat slow in retrieving our vehicle. A classical guitarist was playing soft music in the lobby when we arrived, and complimentary coffee & cookies was being served as well. This added to the wonderful experience. The room was very nice, with a small balcony overlooking the river, and the cypress trees covered with Christmas lights. The bathroom had a marble sink, and the showered had a "double" shower head. Very nice hotel. ”

• The "Heavenly Bed and Shower" were fabulous!
• I would have liked it to be bigger and closer to the restaurants on the River walk.

“I booked 2 nights at this hotel, then realized I needed a 3rd night. The Westin couldn't accommodate, so I ended up staying at a different hotel for 1 night before I checked into the Westin. The other hotel, which was rated as "3 stars" seemed more upscale and the workers seemed to dote more on their guests. Although the Westin was great, the 1-night stay at the other hotel biased my opinion and made the Westin seem a step lower and unworthy of the "4 star" rating. Had I stayed at the Westin first, perhaps my opinion would be different.”

• Great bed, great location on river walk, great ambiance.
• Nothing except having to pay $24 to park.

“Very plush 15 story 4* hotel on the San Antonio River walk. A few minutes walk from all the River walk eateries and the Alamo, Convention Center. Employees very professional and helpful. Great Heavenly@ Bed. Nice lobby and hallways. In room coffeemaker with Starbucks. Two head shower with plush towels and robes. ”

• The heater was broke in t he room and one phone did not work.

• Smelled wonderful.
• Housekeeping came way too early Sunday morning, 9:30 a.m.

“When we got there, the hotel was absolutely beautiful! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel had a very clean smell to it, and the room was excellent. The only complaint was housekeeping came a little too early on Sunday morning(9:30am) and with a late night the night before, I didn't really want to wake up top a lady knocking on the door. Next time I'll use the Do Not Disturb sign.”

• Door on river walk are locked early.

“Everything was excellent. The only thing is that they close the exit doors by the river walk at 11pm that is too early. Overall it was excellent.”

• This is a beautiful and very comfortable hotel. The room had plenty of space and the staff was very helpful.
• For this particular stay, the river walk entrance was too far from the center of river walk attractions.

• I had to leave after one night. Another night not available.

• No hot-tub.

“Breakfast on the patio was wonderful. Rooms are excellent, can't say enough about the Heavenly Bed. If I visit again in the future would gladly stay at The West in.”

• The hotel is absolutely beautiful. The room was so clean and comfortable, we never wanted to leave.
• The shampoo, conditioner and soap didn't smell very good.

• The parking was expensive-$25/day valet.

“The hotel is in central location..On the riverwalk. The parking was however expensive. There was no parking for hotel but needed to valet park the car at higher expenses per day.”

• I liked their policy of conservation of towels, sheets, etc.
• The in-room movie system was not working during my entire stay.

• It was very nice and without pretense.
• The parking for the weekend was awful, the lots and garages have a racket going on the weekend evenings so that only the valet parking can park.

“The hotel was lovely, the service was excellent and the access to the river walk was great. My only complaint was the parking on the weekends, during the week it was great and very accessible.”

• The pool is not big enough and the hotel does not have free parking.

“Overall is excellent. We did not like the pool area. I think it is very small and the shape is not appealing. The whole pool experience at a hotel is 6 out 10. The other thing that I did not like is that they do not have free parking.”

“The location on the River Walk was perfect. They did offer an upgrade for an additional $40 a night. The hotel was nice, but not the best for children. The bellman was extremely helpful and friendly. When I checked out I was hoping to add my Star wood points to the stay, especially since I upgraded. ”

• Friendly and Courteous staff. Made us feel welcome.
• Breakfast was outrageously expensive--$16.00 for the continental breakfast. The refreshment bar in the room was overpriced too.

“We had a wonderful stay at the Westing. The hotel, its staff, and location were top notch. Friendly smiles, helpful staff, upscale/clean rooms, Heavenly down bedding, comfortable beds, nice view, central location to all major river walk attractions, relaxing poolside atmosphere, could go on. We will definitely return to the Westin River walk in San Antonio.”

• Had a reception for guests from 3:00 to 5:30 and served complimentary juices, cookies, coffee, etc. Also had entertainment. Good workout area.
• Food prices at the Hotel were on the high side. Would have eaten in a couple of times but price too high.

“Hotel is excellent. Help is friendly and helpful. I would stay again. Parking rates are a bit high, but parking is convenient. Good location, and good service. Employees always had a smile.”
