“A pleasant and relaxing stay is guaranteed at this resort. More on site vacation info could be placed in the rooms but we felt like we were staying in a luxury condo and that was just the studio suite. The restaurant was prepared to modify any menu item and the food was delicious and special. Very clean and prompt.” Apr 2, 2008 by
Shehzad from Sugarland, TX
“This is by far the worst experience I have had at a hotel. The staff, including 3 of the managers did not assist me on their billing mistakes. They charged me twice because the last name of another guest was similar (although the first name was not even close). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!” Apr 1, 2008 by
Marcelo from Frisco, TX
“Great hotel, very nice location, staff is very friendly. Room was great despite the bed being not too comfortable. Only downsides were parking fees, bed and lack of fridge/microwave (staff provided those on 2nd day).” Mar 7, 2008 by
Seth from Birmingham, AL
“If your going to San Antonio it is a great place to stay. I will try and book this hotel when I go back.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Gary from Cleburne, TX
“When we arrived we checked in quickly, even though there was a cheer and dance competition taking place in San Antonio (of which we were a part). Out room was great, it was clean and we lacked nothing. The restaurant was great. We ate there one evening and the buffet on Sunday morning. Our waiters were very good. We checked out easily. We had a very enjoyable week-end.” Mar 5, 2008 by

“Way overpriced for what it has to offer.” Feb 28, 2008 by

“Great for family, close to entertainment, shopping and food.” Feb 23, 2008 by

“My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary last year. It was beautiful! All the staff we met and the accommodations were A rated.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Bree from Grapevine, TX
“Hotel was nice but we had to pay for parking and there was a convention so it was always very busy in the lobby. It was hard to talk to the front desk.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Mary A. from Dallas, TX
“A beautiful hotel in a great location. While the riverwalk was on a quiet strip, you didn't have to walk too far for the restaurants and stores. On street level, you were close to as much action as you wanted. Very nice stay with nice staff.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Casey from Crowley, TX
“This hotel is located near everything. It will take you about 5 minutes to walk to the mall, convention center, and restaurants. The rooms were very spacious. I can't believe that I'm saying this, but the thing that stands out most about the room was the bathroom. It was very nice and very spacious.” Feb 20, 2008 by
J. T. from Des Moines, IA
“The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and had nice linens, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. A bellboy even unlocked our car after my husband closed the trunk with the keys inside. The location is fantastic. Two things were disappointing: I have an online job, so comfortable Internet access is crucial. There was no wireless in the room, and the desk chair was uncomfortable and not appropriate for working. Since the cord would not reach to the bed I didn't even have the option of sitting in bed and supporting my laptop with pillows, which would have been more comfortable than the chair/desk provided. My second complaint is that the hotel "nickel and dimes" its guests beyond reason. Of course I expect to pay for the mini-bar and such, but $6 for bottled water seemed steep. The proverbial straw was discovering that the cute little one-cup coffee maker came with a charge of $3 per coffee pod. I've stayed at many hotels that provide a coffee maker, and have never been charged before. They also charged hefty fees for parking and, as mentioned, wired Internet access. One other issue I should mention is that the first night of our visit there were many high school and college-aged students staying on our floor. After trying to ignore the noise for a couple of hours, I finally called the hotel staff around midnight. Within 10 minutes the noise had stopped, and security followed up with a phone call to me to verify everything was okay. I was impressed with that level of service. To end on a positive note, I should also mention that the breakfast downstairs (right off the Riverwalk) was very good and fairly priced. And just walking out the doors onto the Riverwalk was a real treat.” Feb 20, 2008 by

“Just a quick week-end get-away for myself and some of my friends. Location is great - just down the street from the South Bank area of the Riverwalk if you go out the front of the hotel. Only disappointment was the spa - where I had booked two appts and my friends several each. The spa is very small and limited. The massage rooms are close to all other areas of the spa and the pool so there is a lot of noise coming through. Not the most relaxing experience to hear the staff talking and ppl out at the pool. More sound-proofing needs to be done to this area to truly make it worth the high prices they charge. Other than that the spa was lovely and my services were adequate. Not the best I've ever had but not the worst either. Room was a little noisy with hallway traffic. I simply turned on a white noise machine to block it out. Bed was great! Didn't use room-service or parking so no additional charges to my room. The restaurant on site is very pricey as is the bakery option for a quick bite (basically a very similar menu to room-service in the bakery). No hot tub was a little bit of a let-down as well. No jetted tub in the room either so no where to soak. Pool is heated but I didn't use it as it was quite cold outside. Overall it was a lovely hotel with a beautiful lobby and friendly cordial staff. Room size was about average, bath a bit small but adequate. Would stay there again.” Feb 20, 2008 by

“Overall, a very nice hotel and I enjoyed my stay with the exception of the valet parking experience.” Feb 20, 2008 by

“I thought the food was over pricey for what they gave you. Other then that the hotel was great. The rooms were awesome cant wait to go back.” Dec 7, 2007 by

“The ambiance and luxury of the Westin Riverwalk made for a memorable trip for all of us three couples who vacationed there! The comfortable rooms complete with Starbucks coffee and robes made our rest time complete; the lobby was a large area, but due to the arrangement of furniture, it was a cozy and pleasant and well decorated place to gather. The staff was representative of what customer service was all about meeting our every wish promptly and respectfully. I can't imagine us having a better place to stay.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Teresa from Spring, TX
“Very pleased with hotel just upset hotel charged for room. Will take 7-10 days to get reimbursed. But as far as hotel itself it was very nice.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Susan from Katy, TX
“Evident from moment that we arrived that the staff was intent on making us welcome and comfortable. Attentive service, excellent rooms and quality extras, live music, great recommendations on dining, entertainment, etc.” Nov 27, 2007 by
David from Taylor, TX
“Hotel was inviting and the staff was very attentive and friendly.” Nov 24, 2007 by

“It would have been a perfect stay other than had to cancel room service after a 2 hour wait. Other than that it was a beautiful hotel with nice people working there.” Nov 9, 2007 by
Michael from Kerens, TX
“The parking manager was rude to my wife and me. The hotel employees seemed to think they were better than the guests. The management is definitely not in charge at this hotel and I do not intend, nor will I recommend staying here ever again.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Cindy from Sugar Land, TX
“The hotel was on the nice quiet end of the river walk but still close enough to plenty of attractions. The bed was absolutely incredible. The hotel staff friendly and helpful however, when explaining our parking options. We were told we could valet park for $25 per day or we could park across the street in the garage for $15 a day but would be expected to pay $15 every time we left. Because my husband hates to wait for the valet to pull our car around, we opted to park across the street in the garage (barely a hop, skip and a jump.) However we then learned that it was $15 per day (all day) or broken down by the hour if you decided to leave and come back. We both felt misled. The garage option was definitely a more convenient option for our family. The hotel was very nice overall.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Nov 6, 2007 by

“I would recommend this hotel for anyone going to the river walk for a romantic get away for the weekend. From the moment that we pulled in for the valet parking, the staff was very gracious and very helpful in suggestions as to what to visit and ways to relax and enjoy the amenities of the hotel and the river walk. Excellent location for visiting the river walk and other downtown attractions. Gorgeous view and so relaxing!” Oct 12, 2007 by
Jeffrey from Plano, TX
“This hotel is extremely convenient to many restaurants, shops and theatres and is located right on the River walk. What the Westin calls the heavenly bed is just that, a piece of heaven. The bathroom amenities were outstanding! The bath gel, shampoo and lotion had a hint of rosemary. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I'm disappointed I did not get to try the restaurant at the hotel. I'm sure it would have been fantastic. The Westin is definitely a hotel to impress a spouse or partner.” Sep 14, 2007 by
Troy from Houston, TX
“I highly recommend.” Sep 5, 2007 by

“I would highly recommend the hotel to friends and family. The bed was incredible. It was an A+ experience all together.” Sep 5, 2007 by
Marilyn from Austin, TX
“This is a gorgeous hotel with its grand lobby. The rooms are clean and attractive but nothing really special that stands out. It's at the quiet end of the Riverwalk which is really quite the hike if you want to be with the other tourists. There are other hotels closer in that I like better.” Aug 1, 2007 by
Kevin from Centerville, OH
“Excellent place to stay. I would recommend the Westin to anyone. The hotel and rental car reservation was not a pleasant experience.” Jul 26, 2007 by

“The location on the river walk was excellent. The staff was really helpful the rooms were clean and very well appointed. The rooms were also very large. I did try to use the spa service but they had no openings the sauna and pool was very nice.” Jul 12, 2007 by

“Very good.” Jun 6, 2007 by

“I stayed at the west in river walk in san Antonio in June on business for 5 days. Hotel is very well appointed and spacious inside. Location is the best in san Antonio - on the river walk, but just far away enough from the main crowds (3-4 minute walk) to be reasonably tranquil. Getting there from the airport is easy and straightforward, but during rush hour may take 30+ minutes (outside of rush hours count about 15 minutes). Hotel is about 10 minute walk away from the Alamo. In fact, taking a car with you to the hotel doesn't make much sense unless you plan on driving very far because everything is within a walking distance, and the parking is obscenely expensive ($25 a day). La cilia grill restaurant at the hotel has an outside seating area right on the river, and because of the hotel's location, you are not subjected to endless crowds parading around you. In fact, sitting outside is positively calming. However, the menu consists of rather heavy dishes, and salads are mostly of the appetizer type. It is also quite expensive, although presentation is careful and pretty. Staff is also helpful and polite. Most of the other restaurants on the river walk consist of taxmen fare, and are of decidedly unimpressive quality. Hotel's advice on which restaurant to pick left me puzzling as to whether they ever tried it. Nevertheless, one can also find Morton's, Ruth's Chris, and Texas land and cattle, so steak lovers will find something to their liking. misses included non-functional in-room safe (hotel offered a safe deposit box downstairs), and the inability to mail post cards, which I expect of any hotel from great western up. It turned out hotel does not have a post-stamping machine, does not have current stamps, and the souvenir shop did not carry stamps either. In the end the concierge took it upon himself to arrange for the post cards to be mailed. All in all, I would stay there on a short business visit because of its excellent location and the interior, but I would not rent a car, and I would spend time beforehand online to find restaurants that offer the type of cuisine I like.” Mar 27, 2007 by
Perry from Austin, TX
“My wife and I really enjoyed the hotel, it was very nice as I would expect a Westin to be. I was a bit disappointed in having to use valet parking and the charge of $25.00 a night (plus tax and tip) seemed to high.” Mar 22, 2007 by

“Positives: the hotel is in a great location along the river walk, close to lots of attractions. The room we had was very nice, the pillow-top mattress was very comfortable, and the in-room coffee bar was outside the bathroom, which I really appreciated from a germ avoidance perspective. The staff was nice. Negatives: the parking was horribly inconvenient--in fact, unavailable at all on Friday, march 16--if you chose to park yourself--parking is at the market square garage, which is not managed by the hotel. Valet parking was $27, and there appeared to be a good wait for one's car to be delivered. The revered chocolates that the in-room marketing materials extolled were actually on a three-tiered serving dish to the left of the front desk--totally inaccessible in the check-in crowd at around 5:45 Thursday evening. I would have preferred to have a piece or two of the chocolate, sealed, left in the room to greet us upon arrival.” Jan 7, 2007 by

“The room was the most comfortable I have ever stayed at. I will extend my stay another 2 to 4 days if I get the The Westin Riverwalk. The lobby was elegant.” 1 of 3 people found this review helpful.Jan 5, 2007 by

“The west in river walk was a great place to stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We did have a few problems. Not the right kind of room and a stopped up toilet. We enjoyed our stay!” Jan 4, 2007 by

“The hotel experience was wonderful. I would undoubtedly stay hare again.” Jan 2, 2007 by
Tami from Spring, TX
“Overall the hotel was wonderful. However, when we checked in, we were told that we would have a rollaway delivered immediately. At 9:30 that night, we still did not have one and were at first told that we wouldn't get one as they were all given away. Shortly after that, one appeared at our door. Then, we called down and asked for an extra blanket and it took two phone calls and 1 hour to get it and it was midnight by this time. Much too late for children to be awake waiting on blankets.” Jan 1, 2007 by
Deb from Manson, IA
“Had a great stay. We had shower problems when we first arrived and they sent two staff members to take care of it. Very friendly.” Dec 31, 2006 by
Randy from Waco, TX
“This hotel put bogus honor bar charges on my bill, had paper thin walls between rooms, required that we check out after the first night and re-check in to keep the same room, and had keys that kept losing their code, requiring a trip to the front desk and a wait in line every time.” Dec 12, 2006 by
Leta from Sulphur Springs, TX
“Both hotels were very nice and friendly and the walk to restaurants of choice was very good.” Dec 12, 2006 by
Lisa from Sussex, WI
“This hotel was beautiful. The lobby is very elegant, the lounge was nice and the rooms were quite comfortable and clean. It is on a quieter end of the river walk, but just a short walk to all the restaurants and bars. We really enjoyed our stay.” Dec 5, 2006 by
Don from Houston, TX
“Excellent value, access to the river walk and its restaurants. The parking service was somewhat slow in retrieving our vehicle. A classical guitarist was playing soft music in the lobby when we arrived, and complimentary coffee & cookies was being served as well. This added to the wonderful experience. The room was very nice, with a small balcony overlooking the river, and the cypress trees covered with Christmas lights. The bathroom had a marble sink, and the showered had a "double" shower head. Very nice hotel. ” Nov 22, 2006 by
Christie from State College, PA
“I booked 2 nights at this hotel, then realized I needed a 3rd night. The Westin couldn't accommodate, so I ended up staying at a different hotel for 1 night before I checked into the Westin. The other hotel, which was rated as "3 stars" seemed more upscale and the workers seemed to dote more on their guests. Although the Westin was great, the 1-night stay at the other hotel biased my opinion and made the Westin seem a step lower and unworthy of the "4 star" rating. Had I stayed at the Westin first, perhaps my opinion would be different.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Nov 15, 2006 by

“We requested a king bed & did not get. We requested a room overlooking the river walk, and did not get it.” Nov 15, 2006 by

“Very plush 15 story 4* hotel on the San Antonio River walk. A few minutes walk from all the River walk eateries and the Alamo, Convention Center. Employees very professional and helpful. Great Heavenly@ Bed. Nice lobby and hallways. In room coffeemaker with Starbucks. Two head shower with plush towels and robes. ”
