• It was located in a very convenient place.
• The parking. We have a huge truck and it was impossible to park.

“The hotel was lovely, received a non smoking room but you could tell it had been a smoking room at one time or another. Every one was friendly and it was very clean. Room service was excellent and the food great. Parking is the only complaint. We have a huge truck and valet would not park it and trying to squeeze it in their parking garage was not fun, needless to say we either walked or took a taxi.”

• The hotel was located near all the hotspots.
• The room decor seemed to be older and should be reflected in the rate.

• The location was good.
• There are several Marriott in the same area and it was confusing to find the right one. When we arrived the cab driver dropped us off at the wrong one.

“The scenery outside was beautiful. It was close to River walk and the Alamo. The beds were comfortable and had soft pillows.”

• Might try to upgrade furnishings in room a bit but still was very nice.

• We enjoyed the pool. Also when we got to the hotel the staff was great!
• The maid did not clean are room well.

“We really enjoyed are trip. The hotel staff was great. My children enjoyed the pool and ping pong table. We ate at the hotel late in the evening and all really enjoyed it. Also the breakfast was great.”

• The beds were very comfortable, especially the comforters and the view was nice too.
• There's not really anything that I didn't like.

“My stay was pleasant and I would definitely come back. The hotel room was very clean as well as the other parts of the hotel. The beds were quit pleasant and very comfortable, which is probably the more important things I expect when staying at a hotel.”

• Staff was amazingly kind, amenities were great - good work out facility.
• Rooms were a little small but well furnished and arranged.

“The Marriot Riverwalk in Santa Antonio is a great place to stay. The rooms are a little small but ample. The beds are comfortable. The gym is great compared to other hotels. The pool is indoor/outdoor, heated and clean. All the staff was kind and accommodating. They made us feel welcome even with out young children and occasionally crying infant.”

• The staff was very helpful and well informed. The hotel was clean and beautiful.
• The street noise was horrible! It was very difficult to sleep due to the noise. That is why I rated the room comfort low.

“The street noise is horrible -- it was very hard to sleep with the noise level. Even with ear plugs the street noise was extremely bad. Everything else at this hotel was wonderful -- the staff, the room size, the cleanliness, the pool area, the location, etc. It was a fabulous stay. If we could have slept at night, that would have made for a perfect trip!”

• The linens were very nice and what I would expect in a luxury hotel.
• There was a lot of street noise that could be heard in the room. Also, at 11 p.m. the maid staff was on Walkie Talkies in the hallway -- Very Loud!

“Although the hotel is beautiful I would think twice before staying here if I actually planned to sleep. The noise level from both outside on the street and inside from the staff were unacceptable.”

• Parking was bad.

“Excellent room. Hotel was very clean and employees were very friendly and attentive. Parking garage was full and we had to park valet but we weren't charged. We had to wait 45 minutes for our vehicle to be pulled up. Other than that I'd definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here in the future.”

• The staff was exceptional.
• Much too noisy and they never cleaned our room.

“There was construction going on at the hotel next door which went on all night long and was extremely noisy. They didn't do anything to compensate for this or try to make it more enjoyable. The pool was too small and went from just over 2 feet to just under 4 feet, wasn't very enjoyable. The staff in general was great however our room never got cleaned.”

“The hotel is reasonable. It is at the end of the Riverwalk by the Rivermall. There was a train that ran throughout the night. Overall, it is a decent hotel. Not a 4-star, but a good 2.5 - 3 star hotel.”

• The king size bed with the feather pillows was extremely comfortable.
• No free Wi-Fi, $4.50 for a bottle of water is extreme.

“My husband and I really enjoyed the great central location of this hotel. The bed was so comfy; nice soft, crisp sheets and fluffy down pillows and comforter. My only complaints are that the hotel charges for internet use and there was no mini bar in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestion to area attractions. Overall a pleasant experience, but not what I would rate a four star hotel. More like an upscale three star.”

• A little noise at night as they were re-doing the road outside. However did not interrupt our stay.

• The city views were beautiful!
• Construction! 24/7 I was shocked that it went on for so long.

“The views were nice and it was somewhat family friendly, but the construction went on and on. I couldn't believe it but when I brought it to their attention they made sure to accommodate by moving me into another room.”

• The bar is expensive but then again, pay for convenience.

• It is in a GREAT location for shopping, the River Walk, the park, the highways, everything.
• The hotel does not offer free wireless internet service, very unusual in this day and age.

“Very nice hotel in a great location. Rooms are not large, but very comfortable. With all the hotels I stay at, I still can't figure out why they don't have free wireless internet can't be the few bucks they make off internet service.”

• Great location, renovations are nice, beds are comfy.
• The overall feel of the lobby and public areas is out dated.

“This hotel has a great location, near the Rover center mall, and not far from great dining and entertainment. We make several family trips to the Riverwalk each year and stay at various 4 star rated hotels. At the Marriott Riverwalk, the hotel staff was not the friendliest. They weren't bad, but they were not as good as some hotels we have stayed at. The newly renovated rooms were nicely decorated but ours was smaller than our friends'. We did like that the bathroom was removed from the main room via a private hallway, but this was not consistent between rooms. Overall, this hotel, compared to its neighboring Marriott brother, should be a 3 star instead of a 4. It is nice, and the beds were comfortable, but the overall feeling is not one provided by a 4 star hotel.”

• The view of the hotel room is amazing.
• The attitude of the staffs is rude.

“The hotel is good in the sense that the room is spacious and the facilities like restaurant are above average. But this hotel does not have 4-star hotels normally have, which is a friendly environment. I am not sure it is because the atmosphere gave you hectic feelings or, the staffs are actually very rude. When I checked in the hotel, the room was not first tidied up. Secondly, I request a crib for my baby; it took them more than an hour to get it to my room. When I called the front desk, the front desk manager even argued with me that I checked in just about an hour, it could not be more than an hour since I asked for the crib. This is quite incredible and very bad customer service, especially in the hotel industry. I have traveling around the world, like Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, different cities of USA; I would say this hotel's customer's service are below standard.”

• Easy access to the River Walk. Very convenient to downtown San Antonio.
• The elevators were not functioning properly. Had to wait 15 minutes for the elevators and some got stuck.

“A nice hotel in the middle of downtown San Antonio. Although it has enough rooms to hold a large number of guests, the design of the hotel is not good for large guests. It took 20 minutes to get my car from valet parking and they only have 4 elevators, and not all of those were working properly.”

• It is in the right place and we like the coffee shop for a quick pastry and Star bucks drink.
• The bell staff was not the best, they were busy and did not have enough people.

“Excellent if you are wanting to stroll the River walk area and the mall with restaurants is so close. There was an excellent Italian place in the Mall area that had gourmet food and wonderful friendly servicewoman dinner was the best for the weekend. It was 5 minutes from the hotel. Will go again.”

• Noise, It was very loud and unpleasant. Hotel should be rated 3 star at best.

“We were very disappointed in the hotel experience. It was Very old and the windows were not double pain which made for a very loud evening. The noise did not die down until at least 3 am. We were also right by the service elevator which was very loud. They were unable to get us earplugs as requested. This was not a good experience, and we were disappointed. This hotel should not be ranked 4 star.”
