• Spacious rooms. Right off of the Interstate.
• Hotel has a much older vibe to it. About 15-20 minutes from city center.

“Hotel was great for the price. The location worked well for us because we had business with Hardin Simmons University which was right across the interstate. But if you are looking for something close to the hub of Abilene you should look closer to Clack Road. Hotel was older but well kept. Staff was super nice.”

• Windows had see-through curtains, heavy ones didn't close; roaches.

“When we arrived at the hotel, I was greeted with Do you have reservations and a hurried explanation of where my room was. I felt like I was interrupting them by being there. The room was nice, and clean. The heavy privacy curtains didn't close leaving just the thin see - through curtains. This wouldn't be a problem except the room was located on the bottom corner next to the parking lot, and everyone coming and going could see into the room. This was very uncomfortable for us. Also, at night we saw several roaches in the room. The pool was excellent; very clean. The experience at checkout was much better than check in.”

• Everything expect for the staff at the desk during check she was nice but the hotel was horrible.

• The staff was friendly.
• The bathroom corners had accumulated comet and dirt.

“The pool was dirty and had trash in it. I ask for them to clean it and they said the maintenance guy had left for the day. I used the tools to scoop out the trash. It needed more chlorine and was cloudy.”

“The rooms are clean, somewhat private. The pool is warm and the right size for kids to play. Close to eating places. Staff is friendly and willing to help. Overall, a nice hotel to stay in.”

• The room was clean with a comfortable bed.
• The rooms had outside entrances and you could not park near the door to the inside rooms.

• It was easy to find.
• La Quinta has the worst beds of any hotel we ever stay in.

“Hotel was ok. Pool was green and even though it is March it was 75 out. A swim would have been nice. The beds were hard. I and my wife woke with backaches the next day.”

• Age and the television was not working all that well.

“This hotel is just like all the other La Quinta's, no surprises, same breakfast, great air conditioning system. Great for sleeping and then leaving the next day. I have no complaints and I usually stay at 5 star hotels.”

• Good breakfast in the a.m. We had extra towels in the bathroom. Cleaning staff was friendly.
• Ice machine too far away. Pool was dirty.

“I did not like the fact that the entrance was on the outside. However, the room I stayed in was clean. The layout of the room was okay and it was big enough. The air-conditioning/heating unit was quiet.”

• Easy on and off from Hwy.
• Tired. Old style dirty blankets with no top sheet and bedspread.

“Did not enjoy my stay. Pulled bottom sheet from second bed to make top sheet for my bed to not touch old blanket. Prefer duvet that hotels are going to now instead of blanket. Whole thing gets washed for each new visitor.”

• I hated it! Very unsafe entrees for a woman traveling alone were the main issue. TV didn't half work. Crappy hygiene products and cheap linens.
• Breakfast not as advertised.

“There are a lot of nice, newer hotels in Abilene. Shabby La Quinta that needs to be sold to the Motel 6 chain. I was a woman traveling alone, and the entries were dark and unsafe. I felt very vulnerable. The breakfast was not as advertised. Pool was filthy, with stuff floating in it. Staff rude and unconcerned about complaints.”

• Exterior doors, older La Quinta, not 2.5 stars.

“This hotel is 2 stories, no elevator, not upscale La Quinta comparable to Hilton Garden Inn or Marriott Courtyard in any way. More like Motel 6 or Older Best Western properties. Hampton Inn next door had only 60% occupancy rate same date.”

• Friendly staff.
• Run down, on freeway, noisy, steep stairs, motel not hotel.

“Near construction of roads and had to go miles out of my way to get to and from the hotel even though it was feet away from the freeway. The hotel is rundown and there were kids running free everywhere and it was loud. However, the staff was friendly and they were the only saving grace. I don't think Ill use your site again. I really felt duped and cheated. I used to love your site.”

• High speed internet worked great.
• There were not enough parking spaces.

“This hotel was nice in that it had a bed that I could sleep in. The parking was limited and the sign on the front door sad that after dark to ring the bell to check in. We rang the bell and no one answered we checked the door and it was open the lady was there watching TV so we asked about the sign. Her words were "well the door was open wasn't it". So you can see how that made us feels like we were not wanted there.”

• Pool would be nice in summer. Staff was friendly.
• I expected more than the motel that we found.

“The rooms were clean and continental breakfast was provided. For a two and a half star, I expect more amenities than an outdoor pool, ice machine, and coffee maker in the room. I also expect to be able to reach my room from the lobby without having to go outside. Overall, not a bad experience, but they seem to be overly proud of their hotels in Abilene, and their prices reflect that.”

• The lobby is clean. The breakfast bar area is organized.
• Mold in bathrooms. Strange smell in room. Upkeep of structure needed. Doesn't have a safe feeling.

“This hotel needs to be remodeled. Rust and chipped paint on the facade of buildings. Mold and mildew in bathrooms. Musty smell throughout rooms. Low lumpy bed. Most rooms far removed from parking lot. The lobby area looked nice. The lady was very friendly at the desk. The breakfast area looked clean and organized. Although, we didn't stay the night. We left and went to the Hampton inn after a 15 minute.”

“Upon arrival, we waited 15 minutes before we were helped. The desk clerk seemed angry when she finally got around to helping us. I asked if it would be possible for us to get a non smoking room, and she told me all they had was smoking. Once in the room (which was very warm, my husband called the front desk to make sure there were no non-smoking rooms available. Once again we were told no. The room smelled worse horrible. The hotel did not seem crowded, so my husband called the hotel on his cell phone to seem what kind of rooms were available. To our surprise the receptionist informed him that they had non smoking rooms available for $92 a night. We were lie to.”

• The continental breakfast was better than average for our trip.
• The parking was extremely crowded, hard to believe those cars were really hotel guests. Parking lot seemed unsafe.

“I wasn't expecting a deluxe hotel, so I can't really complain. The continental breakfast was pretty good for the price class of hotel, but the crowded parking lot was very unsettling, as you could tell many of the cars were not guests, and had no right being on the grounds making the lot hard to negotiate.”

• Had to stay in a smoking room.

“Continental breakfast was adequate, but not much room to move around in eating area and only a few tables. Location was convenient to ACU. Room was adequate but we requested a non-smoking room and did not get one. I would stay again for the price we paid of $45 plus fees, but I would have felt cheated had we paid more.”
