• The hotel staff were frienly.
• The pool was filthy and the jacuzzi was like a cesspool and out of order.

“My brother was unable to watch sports in the lobby because there was a family and a sick child laying on the lobby floor with all kinds of medication on the mantel. The kids were under age and swimming in their clothes and a young girl swam in her dress. The pool area was not clean and wallpaper was stripping off the walls and there were dirty towels in the hot tub and empty soda bottles everywhere.”

• Staff for sure, very accommodating asked for a room with double bed with a balcony and it was no problem.
• Nothing.

“This was a very clean and nice hotel. Good size rooms and nice size balconies (not all rooms have them). I have a 3 year old and she loved it. Plus the swimming pool was nice, we didn't swim but we past by going to our room it looked very clean and neat. No continental breakfast though but, IHOP was less than a mile away so that was good and all you shoppers out there the mall is across the street! Comfy beds and lots of pillows.”

• The staff was very friendly, the hotel was quiet, completely non-smoking, and is located across the street from the Abilene Mall.
• Breakfast was nearly $10 so we decided to eat elsewhere.

“Conveniently located once you find it. The staff helped to direct me there over the phone. The hotel was quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The entire hotel is non-smoking which is a plus. It has an indoor pool and 24 hour fitness center.”

• The hotel was very clean. The staff was friendly. Next to mall.
• Like everything. One of the maids told my friends and family I was there with a guest.

“This hotel is wonderful. It is perfect for business or leisure. The atmosphere is comfortable. The location has restaurants, a mall and 3 movie theaters with in a one mile radius. The rooms were very comfortable. The beds were nice and perfect for a good night's sleep.”

• The hotel was easy to get to and close to a variety of restaurants.
• The trash cans were small and we only had shower because the restroom was made for people with limited mobility.

“The hotel was very nice and very clean but the parking area was too small and the first night we had to park near the street and which was at the farthest end away from our room and our room keys became deactivated several times during our stay. It was bad enough trying to find a parking space closest to our room because we were traveling with a small child and then the keys wouldn't let us in the building so we had to walk around the building lugging my son and all of his paraphernalia or try to re-park near the front entrance and the staff acted as if it were our fault that the keys weren't working I can't speak for my husband but I kept my key away from my cell phone and other cards with magnetic strips. Overall I was pleased with the hotel, mostly because I was traveling with my son and I really appreciated the fact that the hotel was very well kept and clean and the bed was a very pleasant surprise, it was a plush pillow top just like the one I have at home.”

• The upkeep and atmosphere needs improvement.

“Its hard to believe the hotel is a Marriott. Its a little run down and it either seems the hotel is in need of up-keep or its just a bit old. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room themselves have plenty of space, have internet access, and some (if not all) have a microwave and a refrigerator. However, they do leave a lot to be desired.”

• I loved the comfort of the hotel. I felt like I was at my own house! It is very cozy.
• The food was not that great. Actually I was not very hungry that day so I am not so sure. There also was not a lot of staff around.

“We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Beds were wonderful, linens were very nice. We would have enjoyed a microwave and refrigerator, but didn't ask for any. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. We look forward to staying there again.”

• Very convenient. Comfortable.
• HS sports event in town. A bit noisy. Hotel sold out.

“Perfectly happy with my stay -would go there again. Room was nice; shower was worn -needed a refinishing and new grout, but it was clean. Otherwise nice for a moderate quality hotel. Microwave was a HUGE plus for a vegetarian in a town that was far from veg-friendly!”

“The room we were assigned first had a horrible, horrible musty, moldy, mildew smell due to poor carpet cleaning. Not until we threw a huge fit and parked ourselves in the lobby, luggage and all were we assigned a new room. Took over 45 minutes. Ridiculous to have to go through all of that after a long day's travel with children.”

“The hotel itself is very nice, the front desk staff is very helpful and knowledgeable of city. The only thing I didn't like was that the carpet was wet from being cleaned & the 1st floor rooms could not be used - not smart on Friday night. The trash can had not been emptied in our room, but overall I would give this hotel a 7.”

• Over priced for what it is. Not typical Marriot quality or value.

“Checked in for an eight day stay. Was disappointed to find that we were put in a room across from the elevator, ice machine, and behind the maid's closet. Rooms have a terrible arrangement. Cleaning ladies started banging around in the closet at 7 a.m. Mentioned it to front desk, they said they shouldn't be there until 9 a.m. Same thing every morning. One morning I stepped out the door and commented to one lady about the amount of banging around at 7 in the morning, for the next hour it sounded like a construction zone in there. Guess she didn't appreciate the comment. No complimentary breakfast at all, not even continental that the cheapest of hotels have. There is a full breakfast available at $9.95, too much for breakfast. Stayed at the McM right next door last year and they have the full breakfast, free evening drinks, and many more amenities all for the same price range. Left this hotel after four days, too bad the McM was booked. Won't be back.”

“Although these hotels are cookie cutters in design, they still give you a warm feeling when entering. I understand this is not a five-star hotel, but everything was nice and as expected.”

• No local paper, I walked awhile to find one.

• The room and public areas were spotless. The Front Desk staff was friendly and helpful.
• The server at the restaurant is one of the worst servers I have ever had.

“The room was nice, but not extravagant. The hotel tries to appear upscale, but just doesn't have the facilities to pull it off. The $9.50 they charge for breakfast is ridiculous. The in room entertainment consists of a small, old color television with a few channels and overpriced movies. The indoor pool and hot tub are nice especially during the winter months, but they need to fire whoever does their pool service. The amount of chlorine in the water is enough to choke several large water buffalo and possibly a marmoset as well. My fiancée had a minor reaction to the amount of chlorine in the water, breaking out in small red bumps that she said were itchy, but fortunately they faded within a couple of hours. I enjoyed my stay at the Courtyard. I recommend staying here.”

• The room was big & everything was glued but had a swivel. My child was able to roam without me fearing something fall on him.
• I was afraid to touch anything because everything was an additional charge. They brought the news paper without even asking and charged us.

“Good but there were lots of touch and you buy notes everywhere. We booked to 2 nights and the hotel wanted us to switch rooms because we did not book the rooms at the same time even though the second reservation was done within minutes. But other than that it was a good experience.”
