• Extremely different from pictures and description on line.

“Come on, this was a Howard Johnson hotel. So, even though it was a 2 star, the pictures looked good, so I booked the room. We arrived at a hotel in the worst part of town. The indoor pool had about a foot of water in it that was actually green in color. We had to park in an alley to get to the room. The room had a stand up fan that the electric outlet it was plugged into didn't work. The toilet ran all night. The hot water on full blast with no cold running was still barely warm.”

• Travel through the parking lot was inconvenient, and the bathroom needed structural attention.

“The hotel was okay for a star 1 hotel, even though we received prank calls during the night, apparently from other hotel guests.”

• Comfortable bed, quiet room, and amenities.
• Only coffee packets, no tea.

“For the hotel's rating and price, this was wonderful! I love that the rooms are inset instead of like motels, which always makes me nervous. The room was big, the bed comfortable, and the shower nice and hot. Everything I needed was there and more! Howard Johnson hotels will always be one of the best!”

• The restaurant breakfast was good.
• The staff was horrible and the hotel was run down.

“The staff was totally unfriendly and unresponsive. We were awoken at 11:30 PM by people yelling and thumping their car stereo at the pool area. We requested 3 times to have them quite down and the manager on call never made them turn their stereo down or quit yelling. At approximately 1:00 AM the air conditioner, which was held in the window with duct tape, began to smoke and pour noxious fumes into the room. We were moved to a room across the hall, but at no time did the staff offer to help us move all our stuff nor did they offer to compensate us in any way for the inconvenience. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• Free breakfast.
• Noisy, constant traffic at night, air conditioner cycled off and on (no constant drowning noise).

“The motel was ok. Did not sleep well, due to traffic notice that couldn't be muffled my air conditioner cycling off/on.”

“The hotel smelt much like an ashtray. Much of the furniture and appliances were very old or outdated. I was afraid our air conditioning unit may fall out the window onto the people walking below. Not in the nicest area of San Angelo.”

• The food at the restaurant was good, especially breakfast.
• The motel is in need of being maintained. The front door is coming off the hinges.

“The location is great, and so is the food. It's an old motel that was taken over by Howard Johnson and never worked on. At one point, I'm sure it was a nice motel, but now it is all falling apart. Our first room had plumbing problems, then we were moved to another room that had a faulty door. Not a good experience for us.”

• Not as shown on the internet. Much run down poor security.

“We chose not to stay at this hotel but instead chose another. We wished to cancel the reservation when we inspected a room but were told it was non refundable at that point. We would very much like our money refunded.”

• The hotel was very cost effective.
• The hotel was dirty and the elevator is apparently always broken.

“I would not stay in this hotel again nor would I recommend it to anyone. This hotel did not, however, deter me from using in the future.”

• I did not stay at this hotel. Was very frighten and scared of the location and did not feel safe.
• Did not stay. Went to another hotel. Not safe and scared of the location.

• The location was the only positive aspect.
• Very old and unmentioned hotel. Loud traffic noise all night long.

“Probably a good hotel about 30 years ago but now very old and not a lot of upgrades. The bed was very hard and caused my shoulder to ache for days afterwards. Location is central in town but rooms aren't very soundproof so vehicle traffic could be heard ALL night long. A/C was adequate but when it turned on/off made a loud noise which kept waking me up. (Between the loud traffic noises). I'll never stay in the hotel again.”
