• The upgrades have been very nice.
• HVAC is noisy and hard to have on during the night.

“We like it because it is close to the mall and to relatives in Minot. There is easy access to the rest of Minot from the motel. We have enjoyed the upgrades in the past couple of years and we find it to be much cleaner than previously.”

• 100% smoke free.

“Overall the stay was good, but there was a girl¿s hockey tournament going on, and a school bus parked and stayed running all night and was heard loud and clear in our room for the entire night.”

• Extremely friendly and helpful, good accommodations and excellent free breakfast buffet.
• It's a little hard to get to when traveling from west to east.

• Great breakfast and computer with internet in lobby.
• Got room by elevator; smaller than most and some noise.

“Nice small hotel in Dakota square mall parking lot. Where we wanted to be. Stayed there a few times before and will return. Staffs are great. Breakfast better this time with microwavable egg/ham sandwich and other items. Late check out was allowed till 1:30pm. Free passes to nearby YMCA.”

• Excellent value for money. Clean, quiet, comfortable.
• Some highway noise.

“This property is underrated. Should be at least a 2.5. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Staff very helpful. Will recommend it to everybody. Free breakfast was another plus for the Fairfield. Lots of free parking even for motor homes. Handy to the big mall. Excellent property.”

• I really enjoy the 100% smoke-free environment and the breakfasts, especially the waffles!

• The continental breakfast probably the one thing I liked about this hotel, I didn't have to leave the hotel so early to get a breakfast.
• I didn't like the fact of waking to the fire alarm and the housekeeping staff being as loud as they were! They really could be much quieter!

• Comfortable bed, pillows (4) - spacious - clean.
• I can't think of one thing.

“Wonderful for business or family. Always friendly and the beds on comfortable which is such a plus. Also they give you four great pillows without asking. Light is great for doing bookwork and you have computer access right in your room.”

• We liked the price and location of this hotel.
• Strong chemical smell from cleaning products used in rooms.

• The breakfast in the morning is amazing, especially the waffle-maker!
• There was nothing I did not like or enjoy about this hotel.

• The ironing board and iron in the room is a great idea. Rooms were clean and quiet.
• There wasn't anything I didn't like.

“The Fairfield Inn was a great little spot as it was close to the Dakota Inn Shopping Mall, had easy access to the main highway, served a great continental breakfast and was real close to good restaurants. The pool and hot tub area was spotless and had towels available right in the pool area so that you didn't have to use the towels from your room.”

• It was quiet and the rooms were very homey.
• Third floor was smoky.

“Check out was a breeze. We had already paid so there was a check out bill on our door in the morning and we were able to leave our keys in the room. Continental breakfast was excellent and dining area very clean.”

“Very pleased with the accommodations Only one problem. I asked for a top floor room. Didn't get it. People above me started stomping around at 6:30 A.M.. Should have been more aggressive about requesting the floor I wanted. Everything else about the property was first rate.”

“The hotel was just OK. The check in took over 30 minutes and three tries of different rooms. Major inconvenience. Housekeeping forgot something important like shampoo, soap, and coffee everyday too. All I can say is that the front desk staff was very friendly.”

• The breakfast was great. waffles etc, and the moderate price of the hotel room. Thank you!
• The room was not ready at check-in time ; bathroom faucet/sink had toothpaste in it/on it and there was hair in the tub

“We have stayed in Fairfield Inns and have had good reviews. The explanation for our room not being ready was they had a full house the night before and were behind. That was OK. The staff obviously had to rush since the bathroom wasn't as clean as usual. We cleaned it ourselves and that didn't hurt us. We like the new policy of no bedspreads, but rather blanket/sheets that can be washed. :)”

• Very good continental breakfast with all day coffee/tea.
• Housekeeping didn't come until 2:30.

“Very clean with friendly service, this Fairfield Inn is excellent for the business traveler. The Internet is free of price and hassles. There is a pool and hot-tub for the kids, and a mall within walking distance. If in Minot again, I would stay here for sure!”

• The man who checked me in was very friendly and accommodating.
• The room was very poorly cleaned.

“This hotel has many positives, including a light breakfast in the morning. It does not have a free airport shuttle, which will be the only thing to discourage my staying there in the future. I spoke to the manager about the cleanliness of the room, and she agreed to speak to the housekeeping staff.”

• It would be an advantage if the motel offered shuttle service to the airport.

• Some of the other guests made a good deal of noise in the hallways.

• Staff was very friendly and helpful.
• The coffee pot was not cleaned out, nor was the filter. Not enough cups for two people. Floor could have been vacuumed better.

“I've stayed at this hotel before and have been very pleased. Staff is very nice. I was disappointed this time that the room wasn't tended to like it should have been; vacuum better, coffee pot not cleaned out, did not crisply shampoo.”

• The staff were friendly and interested in what you were talking about.
• I felt like they didn't clean as well in our room because we were staying there for 4 days.

“Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel. Our first night though, there wasn't any soap or shampoo in the bathroom although by the sink there was. I was frustrated a little bit by how you had to get to the motel. There wasn't an exit from the by-pass (although the was an exit TO the by-pass). You had to either know how to get there from Highway 83 or know that you had to drive through the Mall parking lot. It wasn't marked very well (or at all) with signs to help you find it. The breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed it immensely. The pool was fun and relaxing and very clean.”

• Desk clerk called after check in to make sure everything was OK.
• Toilet seat was loose and TV remote ON and OFF switch didn't work.

“The hotel is close to the mall and to other business locations that we use. It works well for us when we go to visit in Minot. Several things have been noticeably fixed since we were there the last time, so they are trying to upgrade their property. At the time we were there, the swimming pool was closed for repairs and to presumably upgrade. We are very happy with the hotel in general.”

• It's always a good, clean hotel with plenty of extras like breakfast, wireless internet, morning paper.
• It has limited parking

“The Fairfield is a great hotel for the money. Nice rooms, friendly staff, great location next to the mall and restaurants just off the bypass. It is great to wake up and go down to make a belgian waffle and read a complimentary newspaper. Wireless internet is also a big plus. We've never had any trouble with our stay in this hotel, which has been several times in Minot and Bismarck.”

• location and price
• toilet didnt flush without holding handle down, had slight odor of sewer smell, 2 lights had shorts and you had to keep turning them to get them on

“ We have stayed at the Hilton in minneapolis and fairfield in a couple of times in bismarck nd. Our expectations have allways been exceded at these hotels, but my stay at the minot nd fairfield in fell short. I was not even asked upon check in if I wanted a smoking room, or if I needed more than one bed. Overall I would not stay at that hotel again. ”

• The Continental Breakfast was very good -- a real treat to have Belgian waffles & a friendly hostess.
• When using the shower, the water in the tub wouldn't drain very fast so you stood in 4 - 5" of water -- gross!"

“Overall, our stay was good. Although I didn't have an opportunity to report to management that while using the shower, the tub in our room wasn't draining, it is something that should be corrected. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the rate was fair.”

• We found the swimming pool and hot tub clean and enjoyable.
• We found the parking spaces hard to back out of, i.e. cramped space.

“We enjoyed our stay at the hotel in Minot. The room was clean and cheerful. We enjoyed a relaxing time in the pool before bed time. The hotel was quiet.”

“My overall stay at the Fairfield was good with the exception of the pool and spa were closed the whole time I was there.Since I chose a hotel (two stars) so that it would have these amenities I was very disappointed about that. The rooms were clean and well taken care of otherwise.”
