• Clean.
• Sloppy in service and condition of hotel rooms.

“It took 30 minutes to check in and they were over booked. The rooms were not all cleaned yet so it was taking a while to find clean rooms to put guests in at 5pm. We checked into our room to discover one of our curtains off the rod and sitting in a chair. I informed front desk (who was still checking people in) and was told it would probably not be fixed that evening. He was right, it did not get fixed. The breakfast bar was mostly empty of food at 8am so we ended up spending money at the Denny's that is in the same parking lot.”

• Good location off of the freeway.
• Old shower, tub, sink, faucet etc. TV had bad screen.

• It was right on a major interstate, easy to see/find.
• The staff break room had piles of trash everywhere, and we had to walk past it to get to the staircase.

“Though at first glance, this La Quinta looks very old and run down, the hotel was not horrible. The room was clean, and the 'free' breakfast was standard fare, and the wi-fi was free. Our major problem was all the garbage piled up outside the room, and in the staff breakroom. Unfortunately, for the price we paid, we could just as easily have stopped at another hotel along the interstate and gotten a better hotel, so the next time we go through Amarillo, we will likely not stay here again.”

• Location, price, and free breakfast.
• Our room was on the back side of the hotel & was not well lit.

“We only stayed overnight on our way to our destination. It's nothing fancy, but it met all our needs. The room was clean and stocked. They had a pretty good continental breakfast that was perfect for our family.”

• Location was good.
• There were roaches, dirt and little response from management.

“This hotel was horrible, the room was dirty, the shower did not turn off and flooded the room, the staff did not respond during the whole process and was unable to find us a new room. We were transferred to a different location after contacting the corporate office that was roach infested. We ended up changing room 3 times all dirty and with roaches.”

• It had really pretty trope l'oeil, it was clean and comfortable, and it had a convenient location.
• The curtains would not close around the window, and since it was an outdoor access, closing the curtains was important.

“Friendly and efficient staff. Convenient location to restaurants and highway. Clean, comfortable, ample breakfast food, and pretty tromped l'oeil decorations in the lobby and breakfast area.”

“We reported this to the front desk immediately upon arrival and were told that another room with a king bed was not available. The surroundings did not appear safe. Back side lighting was terrible. Much of the site was under renovation.”

“Wasn't quite as easy to find as expected, directions said "airport" but it wasn't at the airport access. Once there, we were very pleased with the room (the bed was very comfy) and also with the staff, who graciously allowed us a late checkout because we were so late getting to Amarillo. We didn't get a chance to try the continental breakfast, as we chose to get a little extra sleep before continuing on our trip (from California to Georgia).”

• Staff was very friendly & room was clean & it had free continental breakfast with waffles.
• The first night we stayed in a room with a 100 year old mattress that was lumpy and uncomfortable & doors on the outside.

“Although the staff were friendly, it bothered me that when I asked the morning staff to give us a new room with a newer mattress, after waking up with back aches, she didn't try to get us one. She kept saying that there was no way for her to know which rooms had the newer beds. It wasn't until midnight on that night, when we arrived back at the hotel that I was able to get the night staff to give me a new room. He had a general idea of which rooms had the newer mattresses and he even let me go into two different rooms to check the beds myself to pick the better one. For a La Quinta Inn, I was surprised and disappointed to see the doors on the outside of the building. I prefer to stay in a hotel that has rooms accessed by the inside. I felt more like I was at a motel than a hotel.”

• It was close to where I needed to be.
• It was dingy and ran down. It really needed to be remodeled.

“I wasn't very pleased about this hotel. I thought it deserved a lower star rating. It needed to be remodeled badly. The carpet was old, it needed fresh paint and it smelled of age and use. I wasn't very comfortable. Also we had rooms that were right next to the laundry room. The noise kept us up and night. We were in town for a funeral and really needed peace and quiet and didn't get it.”

“The first room I was assigned to turned out to be a storage room, full of bagged mulch, trash cans, old mattresses and used carpet rolls. The second room was not cleaned. The toilet was not clean and the bed appeared to not have fresh sheets. The phone didn't work. I had to ask for sanitizer to clean the bathroom before it could be used. This was a stressful stop. Aside from that, the woman at the counter was very nice, just clueless as to how to make things any better. I stayed at a La Quinta in Arkansas the next day and it was as different as night and day. Very nice.”

• Ice machine on our floor didn't work, access to room was on outside.

“The thing I didn't like was that rooms are accessed from outside and ice maker didn't work. Not that big of a problem, the one downstairs below it did. I would say (at least for the bathroom), it was cleaner than the higher rated hotel we stayed in across the street and the higher rated hotel was newly renovated.”

• The quick breakfast is a big plus especially with kids.
• This hotel met my expectations as a 2 star hotel.

“This hotel is conveniently located on Interstate 40 so it's easy to find and surrounded by lots of fast food, drug store, etc. in case you need any last minute items. The room was clean and the staff was courteous. There is nothing fancy about the hotel but for a good nights rest and a quick breakfast in the morning it fits the bill.”

• The cleanliness was not good, the staff was unprofessional.

“This hotel was in an unsafe area, it was not clean to start with and we did not have maid service during our stay. There was a front desk man who was inappropriate with my 17-year-old daughter and was asking to come to the room. The hotel will be notified as well.”

“This hotel did not meet our expectations for the price we paid for the room. The room was old and needed to be updated. The tub in the bathroom was dirty and the mirrors were cracked. The carpet was fraying and old as well. The staff was nice, but I would not recommend this hotel to my friends.”

• It just happened that it was only a few blocks away from the places we were going, the rooms were very clean, and I did enjoy the breakfast.
• The bathrooms are so tiny.

• The bathtub looked very dirty and stained.

“The location is convenient - located next to several fast food dining restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. The swimming pool had several leaves in it, the bathtub was stained, but overall, the rest of the room was clean. If I was passing thought Amarillo, I would consider staying here again because of the good price, I would not, however, pay for an extended stay here.”

• Location right off the highway
• Bath tub was discolored and seemed unclean

“Good location if you're driving a long distance and want to stay close to the highway. Not a scenic part of Amarillo. Basically clean, but bathtub needed to be replaced or resurfaced. We had a non-smoking room, yet it smelled like smoke.”

“Overall, this is really just a so-so kind-of converted motel. The rooms and the lobby were generally clean. The bathrooms were nice, with a great shower [plenty of hot water and a lot of water pressure]. The appointments in the room were ok, not great. The walls were and doors were not sound proof at all and around 3am, I was awoken by some punks in the parking lot. Not that punks in the parking lot is the hotel's fault, but the clarity at which their voices carried into my room kind of is. Breakfast was pretty good; a few cereals and juices, waffles, and pastries. The desk and serving staff were pretty attentive and quick. Overall, I¿d give these 1.5 stars.”

“I have a strained budget so I selected the cheapest possible. It seems there were a lot of people like me movers that took it for the night. I wouldn't be there if I was moving with family but I saw a lot of kids while having breakfast.”
