• Everything. First they tried to put us in a room that already had people in it. We waited in the hall for almost an hour while they cleaned a room.

• It appeared out of date and in poor repair. The overall appearance was unsatisfactory.

“The elevator was broken, the hotel appeared very old and the decor was out of date. The staff was friendly, but overall it was a disappointment for a Holiday Inn and a hotel on priceline.”

• Location was great, just off interstate.
• Very old and worn down looking, but reasonably clean.

“I wish our toilet had worked!!!! It would flush, but it took about 30 minutes to refill. Hard when traveling with 4 kids! we were only there for about 6 hours, though, so it wasn't too terrible. No free breakfast. we had to go ask for coffee packets, as all we had were decaf.”

• Nice, clean hotel. Nothing spectacular, but a good solid hotel.
• Staff wasn't overly friendly, but they did their job.

“It was appropriate for the amount of time I intended to stay but I wouldn't stay there for an extended period. The hotel staff were very nice and courteous. But one of the lights in our room didn't work.”

• Room needed extreme makeover - new caulking, wallpaper, tub/shower unit, furniture, everything!

“The front desk staff checked us into a room that was already occupied. The hallway smelled of chemical fumes from a room renovation just down the hall. After that embarrassing ordeal, we were checked into another room that had a TV with three missing buttons, the furniture was banged up and scratched pretty bad, the bathroom looked as if it hadn't been cleaned yet: a wet face cloth with make-up was left on the bathroom counter, the caulking on the tub tiles were black when it was supposed to be white, the wallpaper was peeling and the ceiling was cracked, the towels were old and dingy. We contacted the hotel manager on duty and told him of our grievance. He said he would get back to us but ended up leaving the property due to a non-related hotel emergency. Terrible family experience!”

• Open interior allowed us to keep eye on kids.
• Most games in arcade did not work, no pool cues, mini-golf not existent, pool was dirty.

“Although hotel features mentioned mini golf this was not available. Most of the games in the arcade were not functioning, and there were no pool cues for the coin op pool tables. The pool had floating debris. I had brought my family to specifically enjoy the features of this holidome so needless to say I was disappointed and would not return.”

“This hotel was great. I saw other negative reviews on a travel site, they must have stayed at a different hotel. This hotel was newer and in very good shape. Staff was pleasant, breakfast buffet was a deal.”

• The pool area is great when traveling with children.
• There were so many people in the spa that I did not want to use it.

• We enjoyed the hot tub and pool area.

“Very friendly staff. Loved the pool area. Had a bit of a rough time keeping my 7 year old grandson from the game area -- not enough quarters in Grammy's purse. We just went around so he never saw it. Not sure that'll work again.”

“The hotel was okay. The water in the bathroom sink and tub did not get hot enough, the did have space. It was right off the main highway which was convenient for us being that we were traveling 17 hours when we got there and still had 7 more. There are a lot of restaurants near by. Some fast food places are in walking distance.”

• Location, easy access to highway and amenities.
• Shower flooded entire bathroom every time.

“Upgrades are nice in lobby, restaurant, pool, and gaming areas. Staff was courteous and helpful, and kind. They were pleasant to work with. Rooms leave a little to be desired on attractiveness and comfort. Televisions did not work properly and could not get climate adjusted to comfortable level. The showers in both rooms leaked profusely and flooded the floor every time it was used. Pool hours strictly enforced. Room service carts full of used dishes and uneaten food were left all night long in the hallways.”

“We enjoyed this hotel so much. It was the best night of sleep we had in 7 days! The only negative was the black standing water in the bath tub. They had a small plumbing issue (which happens), but when I called the front desk, the attendant was slightly rude and I had to call twice to get a tech sent to the room. When the tech came, he said it would be 45 minutes before he could fix the problem. They never offered to move me, which was ok since I was traveling on leisure.”

• The beds were very comfortable and we liked how pretty the inside court was decorated.
• TV did not work in room.

“The place is very beautiful and we enjoyed the comfortable beds and pillows. It was disappointing that the TV didn't not work in our room since the children would have enjoyed a distraction.”

• Remodeled atrium area was very nice.
• No refrigerator or microwave in room.

“Good enough if you are prepared to forgo the fridge and microwave. The breakfast bar is substantial. Location was good. The room faced the atrium area and was truly non-smoking (which I appreciated). Hot tub was not hot enough; water was too low; water was dirty.”

• Nice small workout room - elliptical + cable TV.
• There were two phones in my room, one was old and not working.

“As you are heading through Amarillo, this hotel was extremely convenient to get to and get out of. Nice full breakfast with coffee/juice included. Shell station at the corner made for quick refueling. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows, quiet room. TV didn't have DVD player, but there were pay for view movies available. Free wireless the first day.”

• They have recently remodeled and it looks great, love the swimming pool and exercise room.
• Well, the lock broke and my door key wouldn't work, we had to move to another room.

“The staff at the front desk were a little rude, but the housekeepers and maintenance men were eager to help with all our needs. It was very clean and newly remodeled, very nice. Great location, parking is a little tight, but still great.”

• Nicer room than I expected.
• Air conditioner was a bit loud, not unbearable though.

“We were pleasantly surprised. The room looked great! The bed and pillows were actually quite comfortable. We noticed a few cosmetic things, in the bathroom, that could be touched up. The air conditioner was a bit noisy when it first cycled on, but it was ok. Over all the room was a great place to stay for the night.”

“We have stayed at this hotel for several years, and have watched it gradually deteriorate. Al-though some repairs have been made, it is noticeably an "old" hotel. The favorable price is what keeps us returning, but we now go else-where if we want quality surroundings.”

• Fairly comfortable rooms, convenient to the civic centre, which was our main priority.
• The hotel was old, we heard what sounded like rolling suitcases above us at night. The door would not open properly, i.e. it stuck closed.

“Because the hotel was old, the door would not open very easily. My husband actually had to shoulder it open. The front desk said a lot of the old doors had the same problem. Apart from that, it fit our needs for the two nights we stayed.”
